Extra 19: Change the World (35)

2"Thank you for your help, Kurama-sama" - said the old sage of the wolf clan.      2

The battle had ended as abruptly as it had begun.

"It's nothing" - replied Kurama as he shook his head - "Anyway, if you need any help, you can always ask me, now if you'll excuse me, I have some things to do."

"Again, I thank you for your help, now that the birds of paradise have been wiped out, our young ones can go out without fear of being hunted" - smiled the old sage as Kurama noticed how a group of wolf cubs along with some children peeked out from the caves with curious looks.

"Well, see ya" - nodded Kurama before leaving the place.

"I didn't expect you to help us without us asking, or asking for anything in return" - said the old wolf while shaking his head.

"I guess there are still good people in this world, and not just monsters who wish to subdue everything in their territories" - mused a werewolf while shaking his head - "Anyway, I think we'd better go and inform the others about the good news".

"You're right" - nodded the old wolf as the group entered the caves, although inside, he was beginning to wonder if maybe Kurama could grant them asylum in his village, after all, the living conditions there were much better than simple caves, not to mention that they could evolve their customs and become much more civilized. He had gone to the human cities when he could still take a human form, that's why he knew that Kurama's way of living was very similar to theirs.

"I see you're back" - Kikyo said while looking at the silver haired man - "Honestly, I'm not surprised that it took you such a short time to eliminate all those monsters."

Kurama only smiled in response, though his expression changed slightly because he remembered a detail he had forgotten.

"Is something wrong?" - Kikyo asked as she raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Yes, I have to send Kagome back to the future" Kurama replied calmly.

"My other self?" - Kikyo asked as she frowned slightly - "Do you think I can go with you? I'd like to know a little more about the future, and maybe then I can find out what it is I wish for, so I can achieve my happiness."

Kurama was silent for a few seconds before nodding - "Ok, though we're going to have to be a little more discreet because I don't want you to meet Inuyasha, at least not yet."

"Relax, I don't want to reunite with him either, mostly because I don't want the feelings of my first life to keep confusing me" - Kikyo answered while shaking her head - "I feel strange thinking about him, as if I want to be by his side, but at the same time I don't want to have anything to do with him"

"It's the contradiction of the feelings of your two lives, Kikyo wants to be with Inuyasha despite their past, while Kagome doesn't have any feelings for him and just wants to live her life in peace" - replied Kurama calmly - "I'm sure you will soon find out what you want"

"Shall we go?" - asked Kikyo who honestly didn't want to talk about it anymore.

"Let's go" - nodded Kurama as they disappeared from the village, though not before leaving a clone with a chakra seal so that it wouldn't disappear during their little stay in the future.

"Well, at least we made it out alive and without a scratch," Yura said as she nodded calmly, though her expression changed to one of surprise as she watched Inuyasha begin to dig a grave for the Muonna, "Anything I need to know?"

"She, the Muonna, sacrificed herself to save Inuyasha from Sesshomaru's attack even though she knew she would die" - Kagome replied with a dark expression.

Inuyasha didn't say anything about it, he just placed the remains of the Yokai woman on a pile of dry branches before asking Kagome to set them on fire, after all, he knew that leaving the remains of a Yokai unattended would only cause future problems.

The group watched as Muonna's body began to slowly be consumed by the flames as little Shippo used one of his tricks to store them in a small jar.

"I see" - nodded Yura as he shook his head - "Not all Yokai are evil, there are many who only accomplish atrocities because they are forced to."

Inuyasha didn't answer, he just looked at the ashes before turning around and walking to Myoga to ask him if there was anything else he needed to know about his father.

"Master Inuyasha, Tetsusaiga is a sword that was created for the sole purpose of protection" - Myoga said as he looked at the young Hanyo.

"You already told me that" - sighed Inuyasha with irritation.

"Yes, but I didn't tell you what needed to be protected" - answered Myoga as he looked at Kagome - "Tetsusaiga was made with your father's fang, with the sole purpose to defend your mother, in other words a human".

"Are you saying that my sword only releases its full power when used to defend humans?" - Inuyasha asked in surprise as he finally understood that his father had not been as horrible to his mother as he first thought, which made him that much more confused.

Myoga only nodded at his words, though his expression changed to a serious one as he felt a powerful aura fly with the wind. The first thing that crossed his mind, was that Sesshomaru was still around the area, though he quickly dismissed this idea because while Sesshomaru was powerful, it didn't compare to the power radiating from this strange aura that seemed to be a mixture of Yokai and Nature.

Inuyasha trembled slightly as he felt his breathing stop for a few seconds because he immediately understood what was happening.

Yura's expression also changed to one of excitement as little Shippo asked her what was going on.

"My master is about to arrive" - Yura answered as Kagome looked around in surprise.

Shippo was still a bit confused, though he quickly remembered that Yura's supposed master was a Kitsune Daiyokai. He tried to ask something else, when he felt the wind begin to roar fiercely.

Slowly, Shippo looked up, and saw how a handsome silver-haired man was watching them from the sky. He was sitting on some sort of cloud and had a small smile on his face.

Shippo trembled slightly because he could feel how he instinctively wanted to kneel in front of this man in submission because it was obvious that he was before a superior being, one much stronger than Sesshomaru.

Myoga was trembling because he slowly remembered this feeling, it was like being in front of a furious Inu no Taisho, but this was much worse because it was obvious that this man was not showing any hostile emotion.

"Kurama-san..." - Inuyasha said as he narrowed his eyes and looked closely at the person he wanted to impress so that he would recognize him.

"I see you've gotten a little stronger since we last met, and you've even gotten yourself an interesting weapon, though it's still not enough, boy" - Kurama said as he narrowed his eyes - "You need to show me more of your determination if you want me to give you the information you want as soon as possible."

Inuyasha bit his lip before gritting his teeth angrily because he didn't like the look Kurama was giving him. It was as if he was disappointed in him, and it wasn't as if he could blame him after making Izumi cry.

"Master," Yura said as she knelt down.

Kurama smiled slightly as he created a cloud ladder and came down from his "throne" - "You've done a good job, Yura, I guess I'll have to reward you later."

"Your words are more than enough reward, master" - Yura replied with excitement because she could tell that his master was very satisfied with her work.

"We'll talk about this later, now I have some things to do with Kagome" - Kurama said calmly.

"Something to do with me?" - Kagome repeated with a red face.

Kurama found this amusing, though he quickly explained the reason for his return.

"Right, I should have gone back to the future two days ago!" - Kagome exclaimed with a red face.

"Yes, that's why I've decided that it's time for us to go back to the village, when we go back to the future we will talk about some possible solutions for this situation, because it's obvious that we can't go on with this for much longer" - replied Kurama while shaking his head - "It's obvious that your adventures in this era will be countless, that's why I'm sure that the time you will spend in this place will be longer, at least until we find a definitive solution."

Kagome bit her lip when she heard this because she knew the Kitsune Yokai's words were true. She had lost track of time with her latest adventures and only remembered that she had to go back when Kurama told her.
