The Legend of the Kyubi

Extra 19: Change the World (29)

Extra 19: Change the World (29)

0"It's possible" - Sesshomaru murmured with mild interest, after all, dogs and Kitsune have had a good relationship for generations, in fact, it's quite possible that the two species had the same origin.     2

Yura calmed slightly when he saw how the dog Daiyokai seemed determined to return to the reason for his arrival.

"Jaken, you know what to do" - Sesshomaru ordered as the goblin walked over to Inuyasha and used a strange spell that made the dog boy's eyes cloud over.

"Okay, I want you to answer my questions" - said Sesshomaru neutrally - "Do you know where our father's grave is?"

"No" - Inuyasha answered in a monotone.

"And the key to get in?" - Sesshomaru asked as he narrowed his eyes.

"No" - replied Inuyasha again.

Sesshomaru frowned even more when he heard this before looking at his subordinate.

Jaken was sweating because he knew this was not good for him, after all, his spells told him that the hybrid held the key to enter their father's tomb - "My lord, I think we had better use our original plan."

"Ok" - Sesshomaru said as he snapped his fingers and made the Oni let go of the woman.

Yura quickly used her hair to save the woman from a hard blow.

"We will stand down for now" - Sesshomaru ordered as he climbed onto the Oni's hand. Jaken quickly ran from his master after undoing the spell on the hybrid, but not before giving him a look full of disdain, after all, he didn't understand how someone as weak as Inuyasha could be related to his master.

After a few seconds, Sesshomaru and his group were gone.

"Is she okay?" - Kagome asked as she walked to the black haired woman who appeared to be the dog boy's mother.

"Y-Yes, just a little sore from that Oni's squeeze, thank you so much for your concern" - smiled Inuyasha's mother - "We have to leave that for another time though, now we have to check on Inuyasha."

Yura frowned slightly because she felt that there was something strange about all this, mostly because this woman didn't have the scent of a human, although this was possible because she had been revived. She wasn't quite sure if this was true or not, so it was best that she remain vigilant.

Kagome nodded as she heard the woman's concerned tone, relaxing a bit because she could feel the motherly love this stranger had for the young hybrid.

"Inuyasha," Izayoi murmured as she hugged her unconscious son.

Yura quickly grabbed Kagome by the hand and dragged her to a safe distance as she asked Shippo to keep an eye on the woman.

"What's wrong with you?" - Kagome asked with a frown.

"I sense something strange with all this, that Daiyokai left too fast" - Yura answered seriously - "And from what you could tell, Inuyasha's father's grave was important to Sesshomaru"

"Come on, it's obvious that he left because Inuyasha didn't have what he was looking for" - Kagome replied while frowning - "We should be glad that he has been reunited with his mother"

"Doesn't that seem like too much of a coincidence?" - Yura asked while frowning.

"No" - Kagome replied as she walked to Izayoi, so she could ask him if he needed anything.

Yura frowned even more because no matter how much she thought about it, there was something weird about all this - "I guess I'd better watch them from afar to make sure nothing happens, after all, Kurama-sama entrusted me to take care of that idiot priestess-in-training..."

* * * * *

"Is everything going as planned?" - Sesshomaru asked boredly.

"Yes, so it seems no one suspects" - replied Jaken as he gave a small bow - "Those idiots can't compare to your brilliance, my lord."

Sesshomaru frowned as he heard his subordinate's praise before shaking his head - "I am becoming more and more disappointed in that stupid younger brother."

"To be defeated by a mere human priestess and sealed for 50 years, what a piece of trash" - Jaken nodded as he frowned - "I don't understand how the two of you can be related, Sesshomaru-sama"

"I wonder too" - thought Sesshomaru, who truly did not understand how his father had stooped so low as to mate with a mere human and sire a Hanyo - "I hope she does not take so long, or I will find myself in the painful necessity of forcibly doing it"

"My lord, I ask you to be patient because I am sure that your father hid the key even from Inuyasha" - Jaken replied as he looked at his master - "That is why it is better that we let that Yokai discover the secret directly from Inuyasha's soul."

"I know, that's why I'm being so patient" - Sesshomaru replied with a cutting tone - "Otherwise, I would have killed that scum by now."

"You are the moon that illuminates the night sky with your strength, Sesshomaru-sama" - Jaken smiled as he bowed a second time - "Your intelligence is something that we, weaklings, will never be able to comprehend"

Sesshomaru again frowned as he disliked his subordinate's praise, though he quickly decided to ignore it completely - "Wake me when the time is right."

"As you command, my lord" - Jaken replied as he watched his master slowly close his eyes.

* * * * *

Inuyasha slowly opened his eyes, confused because he couldn't remember what had happened before he lost consciousness.

"Inuyasha, you woke up!" - A female voice exclaimed, which the hanyo recognized immediately.

"Mother!" - Inuyasha exclaimed as he saw the familiar face, one he had dreamed of seeing for many years.

"My baby..." - Izayoi said as she hugged her son.

Inuyasha could feel his heart pounding, how tears wanted to flow from his eyes, though he quickly stopped them because he didn't want to show weakness, even in front of his mother.

"I'm sorry I left you behind, but I had to do it" - Izayoi murmured as she continued to hug her son - "If I hadn't, you..."

"No, say no more" - Inuyasha murmured as he felt his mother's warm embrace. He could feel his heart begin to calm as he remembered the feeling of the past.

Kagome smiled slightly as she saw the hybrid boy for the first time since they met, he was calm and smiling.

Yura watched this unfolds with an even deeper frown as her instincts kept screaming at her that something bad was going on.

"What's wrong?" - Shippo asked as he jumped on the black haired Yokai's shoulder.

"I feel like that woman is weird," Yura replied seriously.

"Really? I don't notice anything different" - Shippo replied as he frowned slightly - "Besides, I'm sure Inuyasha should know if there's something weird with his mother, I mean, he's the one who knows her the most."

"You have a point, little one, though I still think there's something extremely weird about all this" - Yura continued to maintain her point. Her instincts had only failed her once, and that was during her first encounter with Kurama, that's why she was so sure that this "human" woman was up to something.

"If it makes you feel any better, I'll be keeping an eye on her" - Shippo said as he beat his chest.

"Thank you, little Kitsune" - smiled Yura as she stroked the boy's brown hair.

Yura again looked in the direction where Kagome and the others were, wondering what Kurama would do instead.

"How are you feeling?" - Sango asked as she looked at Izumi, who was struggling to her feet.

"I still feel like I'm partially paralyzed, though I'm sure this will be sorted out shortly," Izumi replied as she frowned.

"And what will you do when you recover?" - Sango asked with slight curiosity.

"I'm going to continue my journey, I have to meet someone" - replied Izumi with a sad expression - "And you?"

"We have to bury the other members of our clan because we can't let them turn into undead monsters" - Sango said with a frown - "After that, I have no idea about what to do, maybe travel to discover a new place to live."

"Do you want me to help you?" - Izumi asked with concern.

"No need" - Sango replied as she shook her head.

"I insist, I can't just let you do it alone" - said Izumi as she insisted on helping.

"Ok, thank you" - Sango murmured as she thanked her for the help - "That will be when you recover though."

"Don't worry, I'm sure I'll be good as new soon" - Izumi said as she gave her a thumbs up - "Besides, I have an ability that will make it all over in a matter of seconds."

"?" - Sango gave her a confused look before shaking her head - "I understand, again I thank you for helping me."

"Thank me when we're done, and if you want to show it, you can make me some Ramen" - Izumi replied calmly. She, like her siblings, had a bit of an obsession with Ramen, though not to the point of out of control as was the case with Naruto and Kushina.

"What is Ramen?" - Sango asked in surprise.

"Huh?" - that was all Izumi could say upon hearing the girl's words.
