Extra 19: Change the World (27)

3"Ugh... Where am I?" - Izumi asked as she slowly looked around and noticed how she was in an unfamiliar room.      3

"I think I heard her talking" - said a female voice.

"Let's go in, though we better do it carefully, so she doesn't think we kidnapped her or something like that, I mean, we don't know how she'll react as she's still weak from Naraku's poison" - replied a young male voice.

Izumi tried to get up though her body was still stiff, making her curse that she didn't get the inhuman immunity to poison like her father.

"I don't think she will attack us, I mean, she saved your life" - the female voice said.

"You have a point, sister, though it's possible she just wanted to hunt Naraku" - replied the young male voice.

Izumi was silent as she watched the sliding door slide open, revealing a girl about her age with dark brown hair next to a boy about 12 years old with hair of the same color.

"Oh, you've woken up already" - the girl said as she looked at her guest.

"Where am I, who are you?" - Izumi asked while frowning as she didn't remember what had happened, although from the boy's words, she had saved him from a guy named Naraku.

"My name is Sango, and this is Kohaku" - replied the girl now known as Sango - "I would like to thank you for saving my brother."

"I'm sorry, but I don't remember doing it, and even if I did, it's normal for someone to help a person if they see them in trouble" - replied Izumi while shaking her head.

"You don't remember what happened?" - Sango asked in surprise.

"No, it's all a bit fuzzy" - Izumi replied with a frown, though she quickly shook her head - "I'm sorry, I haven't introduced myself yet.... My name is Izumi Uzumaki, I'm the princess of the Uzumaki clan and daughter of Kurama Uzumaki and Mikoto Uchiha, it's a pleasure."

"Uzumaki clan?" - Repeated the two demon hunters as they looked at each other.

"Oh, don't worry, my clan isn't very well known in this place, so it's obvious that our information is a bit of obscure" - replied Izumi calmly.

"If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to know what kind of Yokai you are, Izumi-san" - Sango said while looking at the beautiful black-haired girl with red locks.

"I'm half human, half Kitsune" - Izumi replied as she released her fox-like features.

"Half human?" - Sango repeated in surprise.

"Yes, my father is a Kitsune and my mother is human" - replied Izumi as she nodded - "I have been traveling with my father and because of an argument we decided to go our separate ways."

The two siblings could feel the sadness in the girl's words, although now they were much more confused because the girl's father wasn't as far away as she thought, which showed the huge affection the unknown man had for his puppy.

"So what happened to your mother?" - Kohaku asked curiously.

"Oh, she's not with us," Izumi replied calmly.

"I-I'm sorry!" - Kohaku exclaimed in embarrassment as he realized he had stepped on a booby trap.

"Oh, don't worry, she's not dead" - said Izumi with a serene smile - "You could say she's sealed, that's why we're traveling alone."

"I-I see" - nodded Kohaku as he let out a sigh of relief that everything was back to normal, after all, he didn't want to make the person who had saved his life uncomfortable.

"What's your father like, Izumi-san?" - Sango asked with slight curiosity because the unknown platinum-haired man had given her a huge first impression.

"Tousan?" - Izumi repeated while frowning slightly - "Well, he's a wonderful person, he's always looking out for me and my siblings, though at the same time he's a bit suffocating with our security."

"He overprotects you?" - Kohaku asked in surprise.

"Yes, let's say that Tousan is our hero, he is the most powerful person in the world, and before you think I'm exaggerating, I have to tell you that he has fought with gods" - said Izumi seeing how Sango was about to interrupt her - "Since his childhood he has been fighting, and it wasn't until recently that finally his war ended"

"He has faced gods" - muttered Sango apprehensively, though she quickly frowned - "Then why haven't we heard from him before? It's strange that someone so strong is still an unknown."

"Oh, that's because..." - Izumi replied, though she quickly fell silent because she realized she was about to say something she shouldn't - "Let's just say that my father has his ways."

Sango narrowed her eyes though she quickly decided to put this aside.

"I didn't expect them to be so easy to defeat even with pearl shards" - Yura said as she watched as the lightning siblings lay limp in her hair.

Kagome decided to help Shippo give her father a dignified burial while the hair demon did her work.

Yura quickly took the pearl shards with a huge smile because now she had confirmed that she had not made the wrong decision in following Kurama's instructions, although she had to admit that the temptation of the pearl was strong.

"Now that I have the method for training and the pearl fragments, should I run away and start gathering the other fragments?" - Yura wondered, only to let out a laugh at the ridiculousness of the thought. She was sure that Kurama was watching them from the shadows, so doing something, so stupid would only be a death sentence.

After thinking about this, Yura walked over to Kagome and Shippo, but not before tearing apart the demons' bodies and getting the older brother's hair, after all, being able to control lightning wasn't a bad skill.

"No matter how I look at it, that woman is much stronger than me" - Inuyasha muttered after seeing that the hair demon had gone to Kikyo's reincarnation - "I would have found it somewhat difficult to take on those two, but she did it without much trouble.... Is this the difference between a pure Yokai and a hybrid like me?"

Inuyasha was silent for a few seconds before frowning at the thought - "No, blood purity has nothing to do with it, the difference is that she has a consistent training method and the assurance that her strength will continue to grow..."

The Hanyo didn't want to think about this anymore, so he quickly left the place, so he could continue training with the seal Kurama had given him, only to remember everything that had happened since he had escaped his seal, especially the short memories he had made with the daughter of the platinum-haired Yokai.

"I promise I'll give you an answer when we meet again," Inuyasha muttered as he clenched his fists in anger as he remembered Izumi's sad expression along with Kikyo's listless look.

Kurama took a long look at the girl who had appeared in his doorway - "Tell me, what is it that you desire?"

"I want to know some things about emotions" - Kikyo answered with a confused tone. Oh, don't get her wrong, she knew what they were, but after living so long without these, it was all confusing to her.

"I can give you an exact definition about what emotions are, although I'm sure that's not what you're looking for" - said Kurama while he indicated the girl to sit in front of him - "Tell me, what do you wish to know?"

"Happiness" - Kikyo answered with her typical stoic expression, although if one were to observe more carefully, one could notice how this expression seemed to be slowly breaking.

"Oh, you picked a complicated one" - Kurama said as he shook his head - "Before I answer you, I want you to tell me what you think happiness is for you."

"For me, it's living in peace, without having to be protecting the pearl" - Kikyo answered honestly.

"No, that's what the old Kikyo wished for" - Kurama said as he shook his head - "I want you to tell me what YOU consider to be happiness"

Kikyo was silent as she thought carefully without being able to come to a clear conclusion. There were some desires within her, but she quickly deemed them as the desires of her Kikyo half, and others as the desires of her Kagome half. She truly felt strange, it was like being two people and at the same time neither.

"I don't know" - Kikyo muttered as she frowned.

"That's a good sign" - smiled Kurama as his eyes sparkled slightly - "After all, that means you are your own person, you are neither Kagome, nor Kikyo, you are you."

Kikyo was silent again before nodding.

"I am sure that you will soon find what makes you happy, and when you do, I recommend that you try your hardest to achieve it because happiness can slip through your fingers" - Kurama replied as he signaled the girl to leave.
