Extra 19: Change the World (25)

1"That's an excellent question" - smiled Kurama as he looked at the priestess - "What do you think the answer is?"      1

"I don't know, that's why I ask" - Kikyo replied with a frown.

"I'm sure you have some hypotheses" - Kurama's smile remained as he said this.

"World control sounds useless because you could do it alone" - Kikyo said as she frowned.

"Maybe I enjoy conquering with my family by my side?" - Kurama mused as he looked curiously at the girl.

"I don't think you're looking for more power either" said Kikyo as she narrowed her eyes.

"Everyone seeks power, one way or another" - replied Kurama as he shrugged his shoulders.

"This world doesn't have riches either" - Kikyo continued as she frowned - "At least not like your world."

"Hmm, well, that's relative" - Kurama replied as he looked up at the sky.

"Neither do I think it is women, not when your daughter is this beautiful, that means your mates are too" - Kikyo said as she looked carefully at her companion.

"Hmm, beauty is also relative, it's possible that my daughter got her looks from me, and not from her mother" - replied Kurama while raising an eyebrow.

"No, if it were for women, you would have already tried many things during our journey" - Kikyo said neutrally.

"I think you're being too narcissistic, priestess-san" - Kurama said with disdain - "Besides, you're just a girl from my perspective."

Kikyo raised an eyebrow before ignoring the comment - "The pearl of Shikon?"

"Please, that object is useless to me" - Kurama snorted disdainfully.

"But not for your family" - Kikyo replied as she understood something - "Your daughter is a Hanyo and you just said that most of the inhabitants of your world are human, that means that their life expectancy is low, which makes your decision to get the pearl much clearer, you want it so you can turn your family into Yokai, something similar to what Inuyasha desires."

Kurama was silent when he heard this, though Kikyo smiled slightly when she saw her traveling companion's shocked expression.

"I have to give you some bad news though, you can't just use the pearl to turn your family into Yokai, mostly because the evil influence of the pearl can affect them more than you think" - Kikyo said seriously - "I recommend you to look for another method."

"Relax, I can handle it without much trouble" - Kurama replied while shaking his head - "I have many abilities, some that could make you consider me a god, such as manipulating the soul and reviving the dead."

"I'm just warning you not to put all your eggs in one basket, the Shikon pearl is not an easy object to manipulate" - Kikyo replied calmly as she walked to a home and went inside, so she could rest.

Kurama remained silent before entering the main building of this new city.

"Tousan..." - Izumi muttered as she sighed regretfully.

It had been a few days since the young Kitsune had parted ways with her father, time she had used to be able to think things over a bit more, though she still didn't regret her decision, but that didn't mean she didn't miss her father, the most important person in her life, the person she considered her hero.

"Did I do something wrong?" - Izumi asked herself as she looked up at the sky, only to frown as she noticed how in the distance she could hear the cries of people begging for mercy.

Without a second thought, Izumi ran off in that direction, only to see a village being attacked by countless monsters.

"I have to go help them" - Izumi said as she ran inside the place and started to tear apart all the Yokai in her path, although to her desolation, she saw that her actions were useless because the monsters had already annihilated almost all the humans in the place.

Izumi continued to attack the beasts while trying to detect the aura of the people to see if she could find at least one survivor.

"Come on, there has to be someone" - Izumi said while biting her lip and looking at the surroundings filled with corpses of humans and monsters - "These people were warriors, I can tell because there were monster corpses long before I arrived."

Izumi continued to move forward through the place until she reached the central house of the village and heard the sound of people fighting. She opened her eyes and ran inside, where she watched as a strange man wearing a baboon skin was killing one of the last two humans alive in the place.

"I didn't expect to have visitors, much less the daughter of that Daiyokai..." - The man in a baboon skin said as he dropped the corpse of the human.

Izumi frowned because she could smell a disgusting odor coming from the baboon-skinned man, it was like a mixture of many creatures, a corpse and a lot of poison - "What are you?"

"What?" - Naraku repeated while letting out a small laugh - "I see, from your point of view I'm nothing but a "something" and not a "someone"..."

Izumi didn't reply, she just looked seriously at the stranger covering his body with the baboon skin.

"Oh, I'm sorry, my name is Naraku, and I'm, well, I haven't thought about it yet" - Naraku said while looking at the girl from under his baboon skin hood - "And who are you?"

"My name is Izumi Uzumaki, daughter of Kurama Uzumaki and Mikoto Uchiha" - Izumi replied neutrally as she prepared to attack.

"Oh, so your father's name is Kurama Uzumaki, good to know, at least now I know how to address him when I see him personally" - Naraku said while ignoring the girl's hostility - "As for your mother, I guess she has to be part of a human clan, though I couldn't care less..."

Naraku tried to say something else when he felt the pressure of the girl's attack, so with a quick movement, he stepped back, dodging Izumi without much concern - "It's not polite to interrupt someone when they're talking."

"I don't want to listen to your nauseating voice any longer" - Izumi replied with hostility - "Just tell me why you attacked this village"

"It's because the inhabitants of this place are troublemakers" - Naraku replied as he shrugged - "I'm sure you must have heard about demon hunters, humans who have trained since their childhood to hunt our kind"

"Being hunters does not merit you to kill them mercilessly" - Izumi said neutrally.

"Oh, let me laugh at your innocent words" - said Naraku with disdain - "These humans kill us without thinking whether we are good or bad, no matter if the Yokai is innocent and wants to coexist with humans, or is a bloodthirsty monster, for them, all of us are nothing but beasts that must be annihilated for the sake of humanity."

"But you didn't do it for the good of your heart" - Izumi replied with disdain - "I can feel the darkness in your soul"

Naraku only smiled when he heard this - "If that's what you think, there's nothing I can do to change your mind, though honestly I couldn't care less, after all, I already accomplished my goal"

Izumi charged at the baboon-skin covered man again, only to retreat when she saw a huge purple smokescreen spew out from her opponent's body.

The girl quickly felt everything around her start to become a blur as she gritted her teeth to resist the powerful poison.

"Don't worry, it's a weak mixture that won't cause you serious harm, after all, I don't want to become your father's enemy, at least for now" - Naraku said coldly as he slowly walked to the girl - "Listen to me, young lady, I recommend you to start thinking more carefully before making a move like this."

Izumi could feel something was rising in her throat.

Naraku quickly stepped back as he saw how the girl was vomiting a strange black mixture, which he recognized as his poison - "I hope you keep my advice in mind, Kitsune girl, remember that you are not your father to attack without measuring the consequences..."

Izumi slowly stood up, only to see how her opponent had disappeared.

She again began to feel the effects of the poison, which made her begin to lose consciousness.

Everything started to become dark for the girl, who the last thing she could detect, was the sound of footsteps approaching along with the scream of a boy younger than her.

Kurama's clone watched all this from his hiding place, prepared to act in case his baby was in danger, though he made no move because he noticed how the strange man in baboon skin made no dangerous moves on Izumi, and the newcomer was showing no hostility for his daughter.
