Extra 19: Change the World (20)

2"My senses didn't deceive me" - Yura said as she watched Kagome was preparing her things, so she could leave.     2

"Huh? What are you doing here, Yura-san?" - Kagome asked as she raised an eyebrow - "I thought you would be looking for Kurama-san."

"I was going to, but he sent me a message telling me to protect you until you adjusted to your new powers" - Yura replied honestly.

"Huh? Really?" - Kagome asked with surprise because she didn't expect this answer - "Kurama-san wants you to protect me?"

"Yes, possibly because he feels responsible for your safety for a reason I don't know" - Yura answered while frowning because she honestly wasn't very happy with the idea of being a human woman's bodyguard.

"Oh, thank you" - Kagome smiled as she gave the Yokai woman a cute smile - "I was already scared because I thought I would have to collect the shards by myself."

Yura raised an eyebrow before nodding calmly - "Anyway, I'm going to be in the area, so when you're ready, you'll just have to call my name, and I'll show up."

"Ok, thank you very much" - Kagome smiled as she continued with the preparations to start her journey.

"You don't have to thank me, it was Kurama-sama who told me to help you" - muttered Yura with a strange feeling of confusion because this was the first time a human had ever thanked her. The vast majority of humans she had met had cursed her as she cut their hair and attached them to her comb.

"Ugh... Where am I?" - Izumi muttered as she looked around and noticed how she was inside a place she recognized immediately - "Tousan!"

The girl quickly looked around with a terrified expression, after all, she didn't know what had happened after her father knocked her unconscious. She was frightened by the thought of her father not being able to contain his anger, so she quickly called out to him, so she could find out the truth.

Kurama appeared a few seconds after hearing his name, so he slowly walked to his daughter and gave her a blank look - "What?"

Izumi was silent because she knew her father was still upset, though much calmer - "He..."

"He's still alive if that's what you're worried about" - Kurama replied as he sighed regretfully - "Listen, daughter..."

"No, I want to apologize" - muttered Izumi with tears in her eyes - "I know you did it for me, but I couldn't resist, I still like him..."

"No, I'm the one who has to apologize" - sighed Kurama as he walked over to his daughter and gave her a tight hug - "I was so furious, I didn't see that if I hurt that... boy, you would end up suffering."

"Does that mean you won't do anything to him?" - Izumi asked hopefully.

"I'm sorry, but I won't forgive him" - replied Kurama while shaking his head - "I offered him a way out, when it's time, I'm going to tell him where you and that priestess will be, and if he chooses the priestess..."

Izumi was silent as she bit her lip - "What-if he chooses me?"

"That will depend on how true his feelings are" - Kurama replied neutrally - "If he comes here with a hint of falsehood, or with an attempt to gain your trust even though he still has a confused heart, then his life will end, and even you won't stop me, daughter..."

Izumi sighed regretfully before nodding. She knew that this would be the only concession her father would make after everything that had happened, after all, she could feel that what little affinity Kurama had made with Inuyasha, had been extinguished.

"Listen, I know it's hard, but this is the last thing I'll do, it's all up to him now" - Kurama said as he turned around and walked towards the entrance of the room - "It's a decision I made after some thought, and it's final because your mother approves of it."

"She knows about what happened?!" - Izumi exclaimed as she felt her body shaking.

"It's obvious that I would tell her, daughter, I would never hide something like this from your mother" - replied Kurama neutrally - "Although she's much nicer than me or your other mothers, after all, she was the only one who didn't jump straight to that boy's neck!"

Izumi's expression brightened, though it quickly darkened because it was obvious that none of her mothers liked the idea of bringing that boy into their family.

"She supports me?" - Izumi asked as she looked at her father.

"We all support you" - Kurama answered as he looked at his daughter regretfully - "But that doesn't mean we won't get in the way if someone tries to hurt you."

"Tousan, I'm a big girl, I don't need you to protect me" - muttered Izumi with a frown - "I can make my own decisions."

When she said these words, something seemed to break inside Izumi, it was as if by opening a door, she couldn't close it again.

"I don't need you meddling in my life, if I want to do something, I'm going to do it because it's my life, and you have no right to interfere in my decisions!" - Izumi exclaimed as she glared in annoyance at her father.

Kurama fell silent when he heard this.

Izumi's eyes widened as she analyzed what she had said, though it was already too late - "Tousan, that's not what I meant..."

"No, you're right, you're a big girl, and you have to make your own decisions" - Kurama muttered as he gave his daughter a passive look - "I guess I was wrong for not understanding you..."

"T-Tousan..." - muttered Izumi with a pale face as she watched the barrier that was protecting her disappear.

"Say no more" - said Kurama as he shook his head - "You already made it clear that you not only don't accept my decisions, but you also reject them, and that's fine."

"Tousan, you're scaring me" - said Izumi with fear because she could notice how something inside her father seemed to have broken.

"You can do whatever you want, I'm not going to intervene anymore" - said Kurama as he silently left. Such seemed like he had done too much for his daughter, and that had been bad, though in retrospect, he might have seen it coming, after all, he was always overprotective of his children for fear of something happening to them. You could call it instinct, or it was simply his first-time father's nature, though now he saw that this had been bad because he wasn't accepting of his children's decisions, to the point that his princess had exploded because he kept acting like a monster against anything that threatened his soon-to-be-adult children.

Izumi tried to run after her father, only to see that he had disappeared - "W-what did I do?"

The Kitsune girl began to cry when she saw that her father had disappeared, leaving her all alone. She understood that her words had hit her father hard, but at the same time she knew that this was the time when she had to say them. She was happy knowing that her father loved her so much that he wanted to protect her from everything, although that was a problem, because she didn't want to be protected, she wanted to be like Naruto, to expand her horizons and maybe find her soul mate, something she would never achieve because her father had her tied to him most of the time. Not only that, but she was not a ceramic doll that could be destroyed with one wrong move, she was Izumi Uzumaki, the daughter of Kurama, the most powerful Bijuu, the shinobi who had managed to bring peace after an era of chaos and wars.

Izumi tried to look around for her father because she had a feeling he might be nearby, though no matter how hard she tried to detect him, her father's presence was nowhere to be found - "S-Sorry, Tousan..."

The Kitsune girl again burst into tears, not noticing how eyes of a different color were watching her from a corner of the house.

"It's impossible for me to leave you alone in this unknown place" - Kurama thought, or rather, his clone as he looked regretfully at his daughter, because no matter how much she hated him or wanted him away, he would never do it because he would never forgive himself if something happened to his princess - "You're right though, I won't interfere in your life anymore, I will only watch and interfere when I see that your life is in real danger..."

"What happened to you?" - Kikyo asked with slight curiosity when she saw how Kurama had appeared in front of her with a cold expression on his face - "Did something happen with that Kitsune girl?"

"Better worry about your problems, priestess" - Kurama replied as he narrowed his eyes.

"You don't have to get mad at me for something I didn't do" - Kikyo said neutrally - "I'm not guilty of anything."

Kurama was silent for a few seconds before sighing, after all, she was right. Kikyo was also a victim.
