Extra 19: Change the world (3)

1"So, from where did you come to this era?" - Kurama asked curiously as he looked around.      2

"Oh, it's here" - Kagome replied unconsciously.

"Girl, don't tell him where the well is, he might use it to go to your time and wreak havoc!" - Kaede exclaimed as she frowned.

"Let's be honest, if I wanted to cause massive damage, I would have taken the pearl and tortured the young girl to tell me the truth, and that would have settled everything, after all, she doesn't look like someone who can take pain" - replied Kurama while frowning - "So I would recommend you not to make me look like evil, when I haven't done anything, you old fossil!"

Kaede remained silent because she had to admit that Kurama's words were true, the girl who looked like her older sister didn't seem to be someone with an unbreakable will, in fact, she seemed to be the type of girl who would be much more comfortable being the wife of a high official, or something like that.

"That's scary," Kagome said fearfully.

"Oh, don't get me wrong, I didn't say it because I want to torture you, but to make my point that if I wanted to wreak havoc, I'd have much easier ways to do it instead of putting so many twists on it" - Kurama replied as he shrugged his shoulders.

Kagome was silent before deciding to ignore all of this, after all, after returning, she would have nothing to do with this handsome man or other matters related to the stupid pearl.

"Oh, denial, you're doing well" - Kurama said sarcastically.

"You can read my mind?" - Kagome asked with surprise, only to blush because she has been thinking a lot of spicy things since Kurama showed up.

"No, but you're easy to read, girl" - Kaede replied as she shook her head - "Anyway, I haven't introduced myself yet, my name is Kaede, and I'm the priestess in charge of protecting the bone well and Inuyasha's seal, though from what I see, I've failed in both of my missions."

"Maybe it's because your body is not what it used to be, I can feel a huge spiritual concentration inside you" - Kurama replied while rubbing his chin - "Although it can't compare to the one this young lady possesses."

"Me?" - Kagome asked skeptically.

"Not much of a surprise knowing that you are the reincarnation of my older sister, the last guardian of the Shikon Pearl" - Kaede replied as she nodded.

"I think age is getting to you, because it's impossible for me to be the supposed reincarnation of your sister" - replied Kagome while giving her a sarcastic look.

"All the evidence is present, your appearance is the spitting image of my sister, your massive spiritual power, and possessing the pearl, one that had been destroyed along with her body" - Kaede said seriously - "Besides, I recognize my sister and her aura, and you, my girl, possess a similar presence."

"Oh, reincarnations, it's been a long time since I've heard of them" - said Kurama with a smile.

"You've got to be kidding, there's no way something like that exists" - Kagome replied with a frown.

"Seriously..." - sighed Kurama as he gave the girl a blank look - "After being brought back in time, watching a half-dog boy fight a centipede woman, and seeing me, a human with fox ears and 10 tails on his back, you're saying reincarnation is crazy?"

"If you put it that way, it doesn't seem so far-fetched" - Kagome muttered as she sighed regretfully - "Am I really your sister's reincarnation?"

"Like I said, all the evidence is clear" - Kaede replied with a smile - "Although I don't think that matters now that you'll be returning to your era, although if I'm honest, I'm a little worried for your safety, after all, now that my sister's presence, and thus the pearl, has returned to this era, the Yokai will start to mobilize"

"That's why I have to go home!" - Kagome exclaimed angrily.

"Remember what I said, when you return, you will leave a free path for the inhabitants of this era, to follow you, oh at least the most troublesome ones" - replied Kurama while shaking his head - "It's possible that you will endanger the people around you"

"Are you saying I have to stay in this era forever!" - Kagome exclaimed in fury and fear, after all, she knew Kurama's words were true. The well that brought her to this era was next to her house, and thus, it was the easiest place to attack from monsters that managed to go to her era.

"No, what I mean, is that you need to train your innate abilities, you need to be strong enough to be able to defend yourself and know when your enemies will attack, so you can protect your family" - Kurama answered while looking at the girl - "You have a huge potential and with a little training you could go back without much trouble."

Kagome remained silent because she didn't like the idea of fighting monsters even if her life depended on it. She came from a relatively peaceful time, the only attacks on her safety being ordinary criminals, not human devouring monsters.

"This has to be a joke..." - Kagome muttered as she felt tears begin to run down her cheeks - "You mean I won't be able to have a normal life?"

"I'm sorry" - Kurama replied as he shook his head.

Kaede was also sorry with this because it was obvious that the girl wasn't her sister, so she shouldn't be burdened with her duties.

"Fate moves in unimaginable ways, that's why we have to do our best to bring out the best we can, if your destiny is linked to the supernatural, then what you have to do is to accept it and take advantage of every moment, so you can increase your power, so not only will you be safe, but also your loved ones" - Kurama said with a small smile.

Kagome remained silent before nodding weakly, it seemed that her life would not be as normal as she thought, she just hoped that at least she would have the time to slowly adapt to her new situation.

Poor girl, she didn't know what the future would hold for her....

"What do you want..." - Inuyasha said with a frown.

"Do you want to talk?" - Izumi asked as she sat down next to the red clad boy.

"No, just leave" - replied Inuyasha with a frown - "I want to be alone."

"Acting like an idiot will only make more people reject you" - Izumi said calmly.

"And what do you know!" - Inuyasha exclaimed angrily - "All your life you were accepted, protected by your parents, while I was rejected by everyone but my mother!"

"I may not know about your situation, but maybe I will understand you if you decide to talk to me" - replied Izumi with a small smile.

Inuyasha was silent in surprise, after all, it was the first time someone was interested in him enough to try to dig into his past. Kikyo was not one to talk too much, in fact, their love was a quick and spontaneous one, a love at first sight that ended tragically with betrayal between the lovers.

Inuyasha was silent for a few seconds before talking about his childhood, about his mother, about his travels until he met Kikyo. He didn't know why he was talking so freely, though it wasn't as if he wanted to stop now that he had started.

Izumi listened in silence as he felt sorry for the boy's tragic past, though there was something that had him confused - "Wait, you said she betrayed you?"

Inuyasha didn't want to talk about the last moments before he was sealed.

"I think there's something weird about all this, I mean, a woman doesn't change her attitude that fast without some reason" - Izumi replied with a frown.

"Are you saying that someone tricked us?" - Inuyasha asked while frowning - "Well, it doesn't matter anymore, this doesn't change things at all, Kikyo is dead, and I was sealed for years."

"Well, you have a point" - Izumi said as she swayed her legs.

Inuyasha gave her a confused look - "Why do you care so much about me?"

"Because I can tell you need help, besides, you're just like me" - Izumi replied with a smile - "Where I come from, my siblings and I are the only hybrids, that's why I was happy to meet someone in my same situation."

Inuyasha was silent even though it felt good knowing that there was someone who could say she understood him. Without realizing it, his heart skipped a beat as he looked at how the girl was smiling at him - "I-I see..."

Izumi cocked her head to the side, confused at the boy's expression, though she quickly decided it was best not to disturb him any further.

The two hybrids stood in silence, watching the sky that was slowly starting to turn a beautiful orange color.

"Maybe this era won't be so bad..." - Inuyasha muttered, not noticing how the girl smiled when she heard these words.
