Extra 18: It's time to d-d-d-d-duel (4)

3"So... When do classes start?" - Kurama asked while raising an eyebrow.      3

"In a few days the freshmen are coming, the entrance exams are already over and honestly, we have some good prospects this year" - replied Sheppard while smiling slightly - "Some even have the potential to move up to [Blue Obelisk]."

"Interesting, let's see how they are in classes" - said Kurama as he shrugged his shoulders and followed the principal around the facility - "It's a good dueling ground"

"Yeah, Kaiba-sama spared no expense" - said Sheppard as he walked to the teachers' office.

Kurama followed him silently until he saw his would be classmates, which were pretty normal, at least all but a small group who were minding their own business.

The first was a bespectacled, close-eyed, black-haired man - "Chancellor? What are you doing here?"

"Introducing the facilities to our new professor" - Sheppard replied as he looked at the bespectacled man.

"Huh? Is he here yet?" - said a beautiful reddish brown haired woman wearing a [Blue Obelisk] outfit - "It's a pleasure to have the new young promise of Duel Monsters, my name is Fonda Fontaine, and I'm in charge of the PE class, as well as the girls' building."

"It's a pleasure, my name is Kurama Uzumaki" - Kurama replied with a smile as he gave her a kiss on the hand - "It's a pleasure to meet such a beautiful colleague."

Fonda blushed slightly because even though the boy was younger than her, she had to admit that he was handsome and had an alluring aura around him.

"I still think it's wrong for someone with no education to be a teacher alongside us, people who have trained and worked for years to get here" - said a tall blond man(?) wearing a blue suit similar to Fonda's, only much more flamboyant.

"You remind me of an old acquaintance of mine, ma'am, although he did wear Geisha makeup" - said Kurama sarcastically as the teachers laughed at the new guy's little joke.

"Y-You!" - exclaimed the blond man angrily - "Do you even know who you're talking to, brat!"

"No, and I honestly don't think I care" - Kurama replied boredly.

"I am the professor, no, Doctor Vellian Crowler, expert in the art of dueling and with a doctorate that proves my superiority" - Crowler said while narrowing his eyes - "Although I don't think those technicalities can get through your weak inferior brain of [Slifer]"

"Do you really think you're superior for having a title in a game that was designed for children, and that honestly has no impact on a duel because your opponent won't give a shit if you're a doctor, a fruit vendor, or a preschooler?" - Kurama raised an eyebrow as he looked worriedly at the teacher - "He really serious about that?"

"Pitifully" - Banner replied as he shook his head.

Kurama gave him a sympathetic look before waving to the other professors.

Crowler shouted angrily, though he had to admit that the white-haired boy's words were true. He was silent for a few seconds before letting out a snort and returning to his post.

It didn't matter what people thought of Crowler, but there was one thing that had to be said, and that was that he had a good head on his shoulders, after all, a doctorate, even in something like the art of Duel Monsters, was something hard to come by for a normal person.

Kurama's words, and the looks from his peers, made him realize a few things, such as, he wasn't as praised as he thought thanks to his degree.

"No, accepting that brat's words, will only make me look weak, and Crowler can't show weakness" - Crowler muttered before returning to his normal, condescending attitude.

Kurama shook his head when he saw that his words seemed to have not been as effective as he thought, though this shouldn't come as a surprise, after all, you can't change a person that easily, though he had to admit that he could see something inside Crowler, something that glowed slightly despite all the negativity surrounding his person.

"Something had to have happened for him to end up like this" - Kurama muttered before walking over to Banner, so he could see his schedules and plans for the first year.

"We're finally here!" - exclaimed a brown-haired boy with a strange hairstyle in the shape of Kuriboh.

"I know!" - exclaimed a light blue-haired boy of short stature.

"This is our first step to being professional duelists!" - exclaimed Jaden Yuki, the brown-haired boy as he looked at the island's airport - "Not to mention, here's the [Eternal Duelist]!"

"I'm still surprised that someone so young was hired as a teacher, even with his talent" - said a young black-haired man who was wearing a yellow jacket.

"Bastion? You're in [Red Slifer] too?" - Jaden asked with a smile.

"Let me see... yellow jacket? I don't think so" - replied Bastion Misawa as he rolled his eyes at him.

"That's not a good answer, Bastion" - said Jaden as he gave him a blank look - "I'm colorblind..."

"You are?" - Bastion asked with surprise.

"No, but I might be" - replied Jaden with a huge grin.

Bastion was silent before pinching the bridge of his nose - "Anyway, I hope we meet soon because I want to have a duel with you, Jaden Yuki."

"Just call me Jaden, calling me by my full name is a little weird" - Jaden replied calmly.

"Ok, Jade, you can call me Bastion" - nodded Bastion calmly - "Well, I have to go, I still have to make some modifications to my deck".

"See ya, Bastion!" - Jaden exclaimed with a huge smile.

"Come on, we have to meet up with the others from our dorm" - said Syrus Trusdale, the light blue-haired boy.

"Ok" - nodded Jaden as the two boys went to the other boys who were wearing red jackets.

"This isn't what I expected..." - Syrus muttered as he shook his head as he saw their dorm, more after seeing the [Yellow Ra] dorm.

"It's not that bad," Jaden replied, though his expression changed as he saw a rat greet him before running away, ". . ."

"It could be worse, Kaiba might not have patched the walls of the rooms" - said a male voice - "Seriously, he shouldn't be using such sad methods to spite Yugi."

Jaden and Syrus were surprised to hear these words, so they quickly looked at the source of the voice, only to be surprised to see a handsome young man with white hair. He looked to be about 19 years old and had a sharp look in his eyes, one that Syrus was reminded of his older brother.

"You're Kurama Uzumaki, the [Eternal Duelist]!" - Jaden exclaimed excitedly as he picked up his deck - "Let's have a duel!"

Kurama raised an eyebrow before looking at the small creature appearing over the boy's shoulder.

"Kuri kuri ~!" - The little winged furball exclaimed.

"Winged Kuriboh, it's been a while since we've seen each other" - Kurama said with a smile as Syrus and Jaden were surprised to see the little winged Kuriboh materialize in front of them.

"Kuriboh!" - Syrus exclaimed in surprise as he saw the monster right in front of him. He quickly grabbed his glasses and cleaned them before looking at the scene again and noticing how nothing had changed - "Impossible, I must be dreaming..."

"Not in the least" - Kurama replied as he shook his head - "I possess the uncanny ability to materialize the monsters' spirits."

"Kuri kuri ~!" - Winged Kuriboh fluttered around Kurama before flying to his new master and nuzzling against his cheek.

"I see Yugi found a good owner for you, little one" - Kurama said with a smile.

"Kuri ~!" - Winged Kuriboh let out a cry of happiness before disappearing.

"Yugi!" - Syrus exclaimed as he looked at Jaden - "You ran into the [King of Games]?!"

"It was for a few seconds before we got to the testing room to enter the academy" - Jaden answered honestly - "Besides, I didn't notice until he helped me up after I bumped into him because I was running late!"

"Seriously, how could you not notice with that hair of his?" - Kurama asked as he gave him a blank stare - "Seriously, that guy is hard not to notice."

"In my defense, the sun was blocking all of his features" - replied Jaden with embarrassment.

"Jaden... Yugi's hair shape is unmistakable..." - Syrus said neutrally while Kurama laughed as he noticed the even redder face of the young man with Kuriboh-shaped hair.

"Anyway, I wish to fight the person they say is Yugi's successor" - said Jaden seriously.

"I'm sorry, but I can't do it, at least for now" - Kurama replied while shaking his head.
