The Legend of the Kyubi

Extra 16: A Night with Kaguya #1

Extra 16: A Night with Kaguya #1

1Night had come to the Elemental Nations and the moon was shining in the middle of the sky.      0

A silhouette had appeared on the roof of the Uzumaki tower, silently watching the stars.

"I knew you would be here, Kaguya," Kurama said as he appeared beside the white-haired woman.

"Oh, it's you, Uzumaki Kurama" - said Kaguya as she shook her head.

"You can call me Kurama, I feel it's strange that you say my full name every time we talk" - said Kurama calmly while looking at the sky.

"Ok, I'll take that into consideration" - replied Kaguya as she went back to watching the moon.

The two albinos were silent as they looked up at the sky, displaying a peaceful scene for anyone who could see them together.

Kaguya was beautiful, more so with the moonlight illuminating her body while Kurama was handsome and his now white hair shimmered slightly.

"You know, I've always loved the moon" - Kaguya was the first to break the monotony, though she hadn't taken her eyes off the sky - "For as long as I can remember, I've always had a special connection to it."

"Somehow I can understand you" - Kurama answered as he looked at Kaguya for a few seconds before looking at the sky again - "You are like the moon, beautiful, mysterious, somewhat cold, but far from ruining your appearance, it brings it out even more"

". . ." - Kaguya was silent for a few seconds before shaking her head - "But you are my opposite."

"What do you mean?" - Kurama asked as he raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"You're like the sun" - Kaguya replied as she looked at the now white-haired man - "Bright, warm, cheerful, and protective, not to mention that people gather around you like planets around the sun."

"The sun, huh?" - Kurama said as he shook his head.

"I feel like you're not believing me" - Kaguya said as she stared at the man who was accompanying her.

Kurama only kept silent in response to the woman's words.

"Believe it or not, in my clan's culture, the sun is a guardian" - replied Kaguya as she looked at the sky again - "The sun is responsible for protecting the life of the worlds it illuminates."

"I see" - muttered Kurama as he shook his head - "So we are opposites."

"The sun and the moon" - said Kaguya as she looked at her companion for a few seconds before shaking her head.

"Is something wrong?" - Kurama asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"No, it's nothing" - replied Kaguya as she decided to stop thinking ridiculous things. In Otsutsuki clan culture, everything came in pairs, that's why when they went to steal the life of a world, they went in pairs - "I just remembered a certain legend of my clan."

"Legend?" - Kurama asked curiously.

"Doesn't come to the point" - Kaguya snorted as her small eyebrows trembled slightly - "Not to mention that it's impossible because you're not an Otsutsuki."

"Technically I am" - replied Kurama as he shrugged his shoulders.

Kaguya shivered slightly before scowling at her companion - "What do you mean?"

"You should know better than anyone" - Kurama replied as he walked beside the woman and sat down next to her.

Kaguya frowned even more when she heard this because she was aware that it was true. Kurama was not only an Otsutsuki descendant but his level of purity of his blood, was comparable to that of a pure-blooded Otsutsuki.

"I have white hair, I possess the Rinnegan, not to mention that my chakra mutated after mixing with yours" - Kurama replied as he looked at the woman, only to notice how she seemed to be poking a hole in his head with her gaze - "Is something wrong?"

"No, it's nothing" - Kaguya replied as she fell silent again.

Kurama gave her one last look before stretching out on the roof of the tower and slowly closing his eyes.

"Aren't you afraid that I'll attack you while you're resting?" - Kaguya asked as she noticed how the man sitting next to her was closing his eyes.

"Not in the least" - answered Kurama calmly and without opening his eyes.

"Why?" - Kaguya asked again with a frown.

"Because one, I can react if you do, remember I can sense your intentions" - Kurama replied as he opened one of his eyes and looked at the woman - "And two, I know you won't."

". . ." - Kaguya didn't know how to respond to these words because she was confused - "How can you say that?"

"I told you, I'm sure you won't do anything to harm me even if I'm weak in front of you" - Kurama replied with a smile.

Kaguya quickly turned around so he couldn't see the slight blush that tinged her cheeks. She couldn't believe how much he trusted her, something that had never happened before, not even with her former husband.

Kurama remained silent with his eyes closed, though he had to admit it was a surprise to feel how 'effective' his words had been.

An awkward silence pervaded the place as Kaguya did her best to try and calm her heart.

"I think I'd better leave" - said Kurama as he saw that his presence was making the woman uncomfortable, but before he could retreat, he noticed how the woman grabbed the sleeve of his yukata - "Huh?"

"Let's keep talking" - Kaguya said with her normal expression, although inside she was screaming because she never thought her body would move unconsciously. She was embarrassed because she was acting like a teenage girl, an attitude did not fit for a woman of her age.

"Oh, Ok" - Kurama nodded as he started to think - "Tell me, do you want something to drink?"

"Drink?" - Kaguya asked with surprise - "You mean that Toad alcohol?"

"Exactly, it's the only one that can affect us" - replied Kurama as he shrugged his shoulders.

"By any chance do you want to get me drunk to do things to me that shouldn't be named?" - Kaguya asked with her face red in a mixture of fury and embarrassment.

"What? No!" - Kurama exclaimed when he managed to process the woman's words - "I just wanted to have a drink next to a beautiful lady, besides, you know very well that I'm not that kind of person."

". . ." - Kaguya was silent for a few seconds before snorting disdainfully - "Ok, I'll let it go for now."

Kurama rolled his eyes at her in response, only to shake his head and pull out the pumpkin-shaped bottle along with two glasses.

"You tell me" - Kurama said as he started pouring the alcohol.

"Done" - replied Kaguya when she saw that the glass was full.

Kurama stared at her for a few seconds before shaking his head again - "Anyway, here you go."

"I have to admit, those inferior beings are fantastic at making drinks" - Kaguya muttered as she took the contents of her glass without a second thought - "Another one."

". . ." - Kurama went blank when he saw this.

"What are you waiting for?" - Kaguya asked with a frown, only to notice how the gaze of the man in front of her softened - "Is something wrong?"

"No, it's nothing" - Kurama replied as he shrugged his shoulders.

* * * * *

Time passed, and 4 hours had elapsed.

Kurama was calmly watching as Kaguya was releasing everything inside her.

"I know I wasn't the best mother, but that didn't mean they had to seal me in the moon" - Kaguya said with a frown.

"I don't think it has much to do with the situation" - Kurama replied as he shrugged - "In fact, Tousan told me that you had been a fantastic mother."

"Really?" - Kaguya asked as she looked at the man in front of her with cheeks tinged red from the alcohol - "I thought they hated me."

"Tousan told me that they only sealed you because there was no other choice" - replied Kurama calmly - "Actually, you guys didn't talk about it?"

"They couldn't stay for long, not to mention that we're not very good at expressing our feelings" - replied Kaguya as she sighed regretfully.

"I see" - nodded Kurama while shrugging his shoulders - "Sounds like they didn't know what to say in their situation."

Kurama wouldn't know what to say in that situation either, after all, on one side were the sons who locked their mother in the moon, and on the other was a woman who had been corrupted and transformed into an entity that wished for the end of the world.

"Now that I think about it more carefully, your situation is fucking bizarre" - Kurama said while tilting his head a bit so he could dodge the basin that was heading in his direction - "That wasn't very polite, Kaguya."

"Hmph!" - Kaguya just snorted in response, though she quickly calmed down - ". . ."

The two again fell into silence, only this time it wasn't an awkward one like the previous one.

"Thank you for accompanying me and listening to me" - Kaguya muttered in an almost inaudible voice as she looked at the white-haired man before disappearing from the spot.

"You're welcome" - replied Kurama as he continued to look at the stars - "I hope with this you can open up a little more with the others."
