The Legend of the Kyubi

Cap 321: Corruption (2)

Cap 321: Corruption (2)

0Kurama slowly opened his eyes after remembering the events that had brought him to this dark place, only to feel his anger growing again. He only wished to escape and bring destruction to the world that betrayed him, only to feel the pleasure of seeing their faces filled with terror, though a small part of him was still struggling to keep his sanity - "Why?"

"Because that's our destiny..." - Kaguya's voice echoed in his ears as if it were a sweet melody filled with venom.

"Why?" - Kurama repeated the question.

"Because we are feared for our divine powers" - Kaguya's female voice had become his only pillar, his only companion, though he didn't know if it was the real Kaguya who had cursed him or a creation of his subconscious.

"Why?" - Kurama asked one last time, as if waiting for a different answer as he clung to what little mental stability he had left, not noticing how another part of his hair changed from red to white.

"Because that's how humans are. They are afraid of the unknown, afraid of being stripped of their desire to control everything" - Kaguya replied as she laughed disdainfully.

"Everything I did was for nothing?" - Kurama asked as he bit his lip.

"Yes... your sacrifice was useless because you lost everything."

"Was it wrong to fight for peace?" - Kurama roared as another part of his hair turned white.

"Your peace was only an illusion, a bubble that was going to burst at any moment, only to show you the true face of humanity that you defended so much..."

Kurama was silent when he heard this as he felt something inside him change.

"Just a little more..." - Kaguya smiled as she watched Kurama's hair change color, all thanks to her influence, or rather, the fragments he had devoured from her Bijuu form - "Soon you will open your eyes to the truth, soon you will discover how I was right..."

Kurama's red hair, was slowly changing to a color as white as Kaguya's.

"We are both chakra, we are both immortal, not to mention that you are one of my descendants..." - Kaguya said as she caressed Kurama's cheek - "You just need a little push to become like me..."

The change in Kurama's coloring not only meant that he was assimilating some of Kaguya's essence and in the process activating his dormant Otsutsuki heritage, but also the degree of corruption the Rabbit Goddess was causing him.

"We don't need love, we don't need respect" - Kaguya continued as she watched her masterpiece, the man who had fought on equal footing with her was falling deeper and deeper into an abyss filled with despair - "Why desire love if it only causes us pain? Why desire the respect of others when we can rule them through fear?"

"Companionship, friendship, family, all that is for weak existences" - Kaguya said coldly while a cruel smile appeared on her lips as she saw how Kurama's formerly red hair, was about to turn completely white, but her expression changed when she heard a shout echoing in the place - "It's not true!"

"!" - Kaguya's eyes widened in surprise as she felt her anger growing - "You! How come you're still here!"

Kurama slowly opened his eyes and noticed how a pearly-eyed woman was watching him closely - "You!"

"Relax, I'm not here to do anything bad to you..." - said the woman as she shook her head - "You could say I even want to help you..."

"I don't need your help, Kaguya" - growled Kurama viciously.

"Trust me, you need my help if you're being corrupted by all the negative emotions of the Shinju" - Kaguya replied while shaking her head.

"!" - Kurama's eyes widened in surprise when he heard this - "Is that so..."

"DON'T LISTEN TO HER! SHE JUST WANTS TO SEE YOU SUFFER!" - Kaguya shouted from the distance - "SHE JUST WANTS TO FEEL THE PLEASURE OF SEEING YOU SUFFER WHEN YOU WATCH EVERYONE STABBING YOU IN THE BACK!"

Kurama grabbed his head as he screamed in pain.

"YOU DON'T NEED THEM!"- Kaguya roared as her silhouette appeared in front of Kurama - "THEY WILL ABANDON YOU, THEY WILL BETRAY YOU!"

"Will that really happen?" - asked the second Kaguya, the one who appeared to be an ordinary woman - "Is that what you really think?"

"!" - Kurama again widened his eyes as he contemplated the words of the 'good' Kaguya - "Do I really think that?"

"THAT'S RIGHT! THEY'RE GOING TO BETRAY YOU!" - Kaguya's voice grew louder, but Kurama paid no attention to it, he just concentrated on the words of the 'good' Kaguya.

"I know very well that you know them better than anyone else..." - Kaguya said with a smile while looking at the white-haired man - "You don't need anyone to tell you what they think."

"THE PEOPLE YOU WANT TO PROTECT SO BADLY, ONE OF THESE DAYS THEY'LL TREAT YOU LIKE A MONSTER!" - Kaguya shouted, who for some strange reason was scared. She could see how the area they were in, was slowly starting to break apart.

"That's not true" - muttered Kurama as he understood the truth. He slowly looked up and observed the 'good' Kaguya - "Thank you..."

"If you want to thank me, then help me..." - Kaguya replied as her eyes glittered slightly.

"Ok..." - Kurama muttered as the place started to shake.

"NO!" - Kaguya roared as she glared at Kurama with hatred and fear, only to notice how the space cracked like a mirror - "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

"Thank you, Kaguya..." - Kurama muttered as he looked at the two Kaguya, only for the whole place to light up with powerful white color.

"What's going on!" - Kaguya exclaimed as she felt herself losing connection with her technique, only to feel the white-haired man's hand grabbing her wrist - "Let go of me!"

". . ." - Kurama slowly looked up, only to show him an eye that she knew quite well.

"No! Impossible!" - Kaguya exclaimed as she tried her best to try to break away from the Uzumaki. She had an expression of absolute terror, because the eye that was watching her, was none other than a perfect Rinne Sharingan - "Let me go!"

Kaguya could feel her strength being blocked by something and she couldn't do anything to escape, something that was terrifying her even more, after all, she had never felt so weak, not even in the moments before consuming the Chakra Fruit.

"Thank you..." - Kurama said while observing the woman, not caring about the changes in his body product of the influence the Otsutsuki had on him - "Thanks to you, I understood many things, things I had ignored before and now I feel I understand you a little better..."

Kaguya was trembling with fear, she felt like a mortal woman who was at the mercy of her abuser, a mere woman who could do nothing to defend herself.

"I who lived a life full of hate, pain, and sadness" - Kurama muttered as he looked the terrified woman straight in the eyes - "I who was treated like a monster, a weapon, a being without conscience..."

Kaguya was becoming more and more fearful because she could feel the empathy of the man in front of her.

"I... was like you... but I changed when that happened..." - Kurama said as his body started to glow with intense golden color - "You made me go through a situation similar to yours, that's why I understand you now and I completely understand what you want..."

"You don't know anything!" - Kaguya roared as she roared with fury. Fear had been left behind after Kurama said those words.

"I understand you, that's why I'll help you..." - Kurama replied with a smile as he put his hand on the woman's face.

Kaguya tried to pull back because something inside her was begging for her to escape, but Kurama's grip wasn't letting her move an inch.

"Your hatred, your fear, all your corruption..." - Kurama said as his fingers touched Kaguya's white skin, only for her to feel how the Shinju was screaming in fear.

"Huh?" - Kaguya didn't understand what was going on, she just stood still as the guilt of her actions began to pile up inside her - "What was it I tried to do?"

She looked at the man in front of her and understood what was going on - "You..."

He was absorbing all the corruption of the Shinju, all negative emotions that the God Tree had consumed in its growth. The accumulated hatred of thousands was slowly being purified by Kurama's chakra as tears built up in the Rabbit Goddess' eyes.

"Hagoromo... Hamura... I'm sorry..." - Kaguya said before falling to the ground unconscious.

"Mother..." - the two sons of the goddess appeared when they heard her call, only to notice how Kurama was completely still.

"Thank you..." - the two old men said as tears ran down their cheeks. They couldn't contain the happiness of finally knowing that their mother was back to normal, too thanks to the boy in front of them.

Kurama had not only managed to defeat Kaguya, but he had managed to purify the evil that had been tormenting her for millennia.
