Cap 276: Past, Discovery (2)

0"Who was it that told you such a lie?! - exclaimed Yahiko as he felt the tears flow. He had once thought of taking control of Ame, but he had quickly decided to put such stupid thoughts behind him because he knew perfectly well that the man in front of him was so powerful that he could destroy his small group very easily, and now it was just a proven fact.

"No matter who it was, all that matters is that you are a threat to me, and as such, you must be eliminated," replied the man with neutrality.

"Yahiko..." - whispered Konan as she looked at the orange-haired young man.

"?" - The older man gave the woman a glance, only to disappear and send her flying with a kick to the stomach.

"Konan!" - Yahiko exclaimed in terror - "Hanzo!"

"Was she important to you? Then you shouldn't have brought her..." - replied the man now known as Hanzo with neutrality - "Anyway, I suppose I'll give you the peace of mind to tell you that I won't do anything more to that woman, although only this time..."

Yahiko clenched his teeth furiously, only to hear a huge explosion in the distance - "No!"

"I guess my little partner is done with her work" - said Hanzo as he shook his head - "This is goodbye, I hope in your next life you won't be so stupid"

Kurama shook his head when he saw this because it was obvious that someone had used Hanzo to eliminate the old Akatsuki, and he could honestly deduce who was responsible. Kurama was about to say something, but was silent when he noticed how the images changed again.

"Nan! Konan!" - Konan slowly opened her eyes when she heard someone calling her name, only to scream in pain when she felt a strong pinch in her stomach.

"Konan..." - said the familiar voice.

"Na... gato..." - mumbled Konan as she slowly opened her eyes and saw his deplorable state - "What happened to you?"

"I could hardly survive the invocation of Hanzo the Salamander..." - replied Nagato as he fell to the ground completely exhausted - "But that's not important. Konan, I have something to tell you..."

"The others, Nagato! What happened to the others, to Hanzo and Yahiko?!" - exclaimed Konan in terror as she tried to get up, only to feel a deep pang in her stomach.

"Konan... Akatsuki, everyone is dead, our companions and... Yahiko..." - replied Nagato as he looked down.

Konan could tell with certainty that the red-haired boy was crying despite the cold rain falling from the sky.

"No..." - said Konan as her eyes became misty with tears.

"But the bad news doesn't end there... - said Nagato in a somber tone - "Konan... you lost your son..."

"!" - Konan opened her eyes with surprise as she felt a sharp pain in her stomach, more precisely speaking her womb. She quickly remembered the last attack Hanzo had given her, only to let out a sharp cry of pain, anger and hate - "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

Kurama opened his eyes in terror when he saw this, only to feel a sharp pinch in his heart - "Is this how Tsunade would have reacted if Kazumi-chan had not been born in perfect condition?"

Kurama could only sigh with regret when he heard the cruel news, only to notice how the scenario changed.

After that tragic event, Nagato changed for the worse, he managed to awaken the abilities of the Rinnegan, but his attitude took a 180-degree turn. He left for training with the sole objective of being able to kill Hanzo and avenge the death of all his companions, as well as to follow the steps that his best friend had begun. Nagato had decided to bring peace to the world, and he would do it the only way he knew how, through pain.

Konan for his part, could only do one thing during the time her friend was gone, get drunk and start a life of sex in order to fill the void with loss. Not only had she lost the man she loved, but also her unborn child and now her best friend, the only person she had left was gone, leaving her completely alone in a spiral of suffering that could only be filled with indulgence.

Kurama only shook his head when he saw all this because he could feel how devastated the woman was.

Over time, Konan became more and more neutral, to the point that she no longer felt anything. Alcohol no longer quenched her pain, sex no longer gave her pleasure, she was just an empty shell, one that seemed to have no bottom.

Nagato returned and noticed the change, although he only shook his head as he tried to use his new powers to try and remedy the damage she had caused herself, only to shook his head as he did not notice any improvement.

"A tragic life, don't you think?" - said Konan as she appeared in front of the redhead.

"Who are you? - asked Kurama as he raised an eyebrow.

"Oh?" - Konan(?) only smiled when he heard the question from the red-haired young man - "Why are you asking me that?"

"Because you are showing much more emotions than that woman" - answered Kurama seriously.

"Good answer" - nodded Konan(?) as she smiled at him - "Let me introduce myself, I am the Konan who hides deep in the subconscious of my original, you could say I am the Konan who still wished to be happy, the Konan who lived before everything went to hell"

"I see..." - murmured Kurama as he nodded, only to notice a second Konan appearing in front of him, only this one seemed unable to contain her desires - "What about her?"

"She? She' is all Konan's restrained sexual desires," replied Konan(?) as she shook her head - "She was born when Konan sank in her attempt to find excitement in her life through sex... a pity it ended this way"

"What are you doing here, Uzumaki Kurama?" - asked a third Konan, who by her attitude was obviously the original.

"I tried to investigate why you didn't react and ended up in your subconscious," answered Kurama as he gave her a blank stare.

". . ." - Konan frowned when she heard this because the only thing she remembered before losing consciousness was that she had seen a golden eye. She was about to ask something else, but her expression changed when she noticed the other two people in the room - "Who are you?"

"We are you," replied Konan(?) as she shrugged her shoulders - "I can only tell you that you hurt yourself so much that your mind was divided into three parts. Your present personality, one that only wishes to forget its past and stop suffering, that's why you left all your emotions behind. She, which are all your repressed sexual desires. Finally, me, who is the you from before everything went to shit, in other words, the personality that wishes you to have a future"

". . ." - Konan frowned when she heard this. She wouldn't lie, she felt bad when she saw those two so-called personalities, one reminding her of all those bad memories she wanted to hide in the depths of her mind, and the other reminding her of those times she sincerely hated more than anything else in the world - "I want you to disappear"

"I'm sorry to tell you that it's impossible" - answered Konan(?) while shaking her head - "We can't disappear because we are you, the only way for us to leave is to become one personality again, which I don't think you will do for a long time"

". . ." - Konan frowned when she heard this. She quickly threw herself against her two copies and attacked them fiercely, only to feel a sharp pain in her head.

"Oh, and I wouldn't do that if I were you," said Konan(?) as she sighed, "If you attack us you will only bring our personalities closer together, as you are practically absorbing us"

Konan clenched her teeth before taking a deep breath - "Is there no way I can get out? I could only reach this place because I felt an unknown presence"

"Normally you could get out just by thinking about it, but for a strange reason, you are locked up next to us" - answered Konan(?) while pondering - "That includes you too, Kurama".

". . ." - Kurama opened his eyes in surprise when he heard this because he did not expect this answer.

"Can you get us out of here, Uzumaki Kurama?" - Konan asked neutrally.

"I can do it, but if I do, then I would be destroying your mental space," responded Kurama with a frown. "And as a warning, destroying the mental space, is the same as destroying part of your mind, that means at worst I would be causing you severe brain damage, and at best I would be leaving you in a coma for a few days until your brain reactivates"

". . ." - Konan was silent before releasing a sigh - "Tell me, is there a way to get out of this place?"

"There is only one way, and that is by becoming one again" - answered Konan(?) while shaking her head - "When that happens, this place will disappear by itself and will be replaced by a new mental space, at which time we can use the opportunity to escape, since there will be no seal that locks us up".
