The Legend of the Kyubi

Extra 4: First Day of School

Extra 4: First Day of School

1* * * [POV Hebimaru] * * *     2

My name is Hebimaru Uzumaki and I am the son of the strongest ninja in the world, Kurama Uzumaki, and the best interrogator of the Elemental Nations, Anko Mitarashi, and by the way... I hate my name.

I have ears and a tail like a fox but my mother came up with the brilliant idea of calling me 'Hebi' because it seems she has a strange relationship with snakes that won't tell me no matter how much I ask.

I tried to ask my father about the reason for my name but he wouldn't answer me either, telling me that when the time comes, my mother will tell me about the origin of my name, although I honestly have an idea where it came from, although I really wouldn't want it to be true.

As I was saying, my name is Uzumaki Hebimaru and I am 6 years old, and it is my first day of school. In the old days, cadets had to enter the academy at the age of 8, but after Uncle Sasuke took over the post of Hokage, he decided that it was a better idea that we start earlier because then we would have more years to adapt to the work as shinobi, as well as teach them much more important things for the present times.

According to the history books, after the Fourth World War Shinobi, the number of ninja graduates from the academy did not decrease as many thought, but increased, all thanks to the fact that Tousan had revolutionized the world with new Jutsus that now served different sectors of productivity.

I honestly did not understand many of those words because they were somewhat complicated, but even so, our teacher, Hanabi Kaasan, made us memorize the books with the excuse that we would later understand.

Anyway, according to the book, Tousan had not only created new construction methods using the Doton (Earth Release) element as a basis, but he had also created new ways to improve agriculture that even Suna was using at the moment.

Tousan had also begun to bring together the greatest minds of the Elemental Nations to create strange things like the cement? I think that's what it was called, although honestly, I'm not sure because I find everything about words difficult, boring... I'm not like my brother Shirou who seems to be stuck in books despite being a year younger.

I still don't understand how something as fun as being a Ninja is now so boring... I would have liked to have been born when the shinobis were warriors and practiced great techniques and not like now that it's all boring.

* * * [End POV Hebimaru] *

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

"Nice to meet you, my name is Uzumaki Hebimaru... it's a pleasure " - muttered a little boy with blue eyes and purple hair combed into a ponytail.

"Very good presentation Hebimaru-chan!" - exclaimed Hanabi with a smile as she looked at her son, or at least one of her sisters - "I am proud of you"

"Hanabi Kaasan..." - Hebimaru murmured as he looked down in shame as his classmates laughed at the poor boy. Everyone present knew Hebimaru, not only because he was a member of the prestigious Uzumaki Clan, but because he always played with them.

Over the years, the Uzumaki Clan not only returned to the top of the Elemental Nations thanks to their strength, kindness, and unique skills, all thanks to the efforts of Kurama and the others.

"Uh... Sorry about that..." - said Hanabi as she scratched her cheek when she saw that she had embarrassed the little Uzumaki - "Ahem! We'd better continue"

"Hai~!" - exclaimed the children as they began to introduce themselves one after another.

"Hebimaru... your family is a bit strange..."-said a blond boy as he looked at the young Uzumaki.

"I don't think you have the right to tell me that, Inokichi," answered Hebimaru as he rolled his eyes at his friend Inokichi Yamanaka, who was Ino's younger cousin, in other words, he was practically family.

"Only Uncle Inoichi is weird! - exclaimed Inokichi with annoyance, though he quickly looked down when he noticed how everyone was looking at him - "I'm sorry..."

"And he is more than enough" - answered a lazy voice.

"You have no right to speak, Shika-chan," said one wide-boned girl, "Even more so since you as a woman Nara, are just as lazy as the men...

Shika Nara was Shikamaru's younger sister, and Shikaku's youngest daughter. It seems that Shikamaru's mother had become more "lively" after learning that her friends, Kushina and Mikoto, had been mothers. Next to Shika was Cho (Butterfly) Akimichi, her best friend and cousin of Choji.

"By the way, it's your turn to introduce yourself, Shika-chan" - said Cho as she looked at her friend.

"Troublesome..." - muttered Shika as she began to lay down.

Hanabi gave the little Nara a complicated look as she shook her head. She had known Shika since she was a baby, so she knew very well what she looked like, so she decided to ignore her for now and concentrate on the others - "We'd better continue"

The other children denied their heads because they also knew what Shika was like, so they followed the instructions of the Hyuga woman.

"Well, that would be the introductions," Hanabi said with a smile as she looked around, "I see many familiar faces but as a teacher, I will not play favorites. I hope you will give 150% because this will be the last class I will teach..."

"Hai!" - the children shouted with excitement, after all, Hanabi was the most talented sensei at the Academy, at least not counting the director of the Shinobi Academy, Hyuga Hinata.

"Sorry for the delay, Hanabi-sama" - said a pretty girl with pearl eyes and brown hair as she entered the room.

"I hope you have a good excuse, young lady" - said Hanabi while looking at the girl who had just arrived.

"I was training with Neji-sama and time passed quickly," replied the girl with a Stoic expression.

"Remind me to talk to Neji Nii-san later," said Hanabi as she frowned.

"Hai, Hanabi-sama" - said Takako as she sat behind Hebimaru.

"Etto... Hebimaru?" - asked Inokichi as he looked at his friend.

"What do you want?" - Hebimaru replied in annoyance.

"She... I think she's watching you again..." - said Inokichi in a low voice as he felt a chill run down his back.

"?" - Hebimaru looked in Takako's direction, only to notice how she had averted her eyes - ". . ."

Hebimaru quickly gave Inokichi a look before turning his eyes - "I don't see anything strange..."

"I'm serious!" - exclaimed Inokichi as he looked back and noticed how Takako was looking at the Uzumaki boy - "Look!"

". . ." - Hebimaru gave the girl a discreet look, only to notice how she was looking at her notebook - "I think you are being paranoid"

"B-But..." - said Inokichi, just to feel a hand on his shoulder. When he looked, he noticed how Shika was shaking his head - "Just give up... Takako is an expert Stalker... all of us will notice her actions but her target will never feel that there is anything strange going on".

". . ." - Inokichi was silent as Cho shook her head.

Hanabi, on the other hand, only laughed when she saw the situation because it reminded her of past events and how she had been stalking Kurama with her older sister - "Some things don't change..."

"Did you say something, Hanabi sensei?" - asked one of the children.

"Oh, it's nothing," smiled Hanabi as she shook her head, "I was just thinking out loud"

"?" - the children looked at their sensei in confusion for a few seconds before talking to their friends again.

"Okay, I think it's time for us to start our classes" - said Hanabi as she stared at her students.

"What are we going to do, sensei?" - Inokichi asked curiously.

"First we will test your skills" - answered Hanabi with a serious look - "I want everyone to gather at the training camp, today we will measure your talent in Taijutsu"

"Troublesome..." - murmured Shika with boredom as she raised her hand

"And no, you can't exempt yourself..." - added Hanabi as she looked at little Nara - "This class will be in your report..."

". . ." - Shika was silent as Cho put her hand on her shoulder - "She's got you, Shika-chan"

". . ." - Shika sighed as she listened to her friend because honestly, she didn't want to have stains on her report because she wanted to get into Investigation Squad and to get in she couldn't have stains on her record - " Troublesome..."

"Calm down, Shika-chan... it could be worse" - said Cho as she tried to comfort her friend.

"How..." - asked Shika as she rolled her eyes at the Akimichi clan girl.

"They could have made you fight with one of those two," said Cho as she pointed to where Hanabi was and saw how she had called Hebimaru and Takako.

"Right..." - murmured Shika as she nodded.

"All right, let's get this first-class fight started!" - exclaimed Hanabi as she noticed the gleam in young Hyuga's eyes - "Uzumaki Hebimaru vs Hyuga Takako"

"I'm going to win..." - said Takako seriously as she looked closely at the purple-haired boy.

"I'm sorry but I don't plan to lose" - snorted Hebimaru, not knowing that things would get much worse from now on.

"Let's start!" - said Hanabi as the two boys threw themselves at each other.
