49. Davy Back Fight
He ate the food so fast and throw the plates outside. He even eat the bones too because he's very hungry. He didn't know why he became very hungry like this, but he didn't care and need to eat now.
When he finished eating he go out, but when he's about to open the door he tripped and make the door open with 'BANG'. Jon almost fall but he grab the door trim and stand again. He go out and have a big urge to burp, so he let it go.
"BBUUURRRPPP"-Jon
He look around but didn't see his friends, so he activate his sharingan. He saw them outside the ship and there are many people with them. They seem to notice him because of that loud bang, but they haven't see him yet. They all are quiet and there's no sound, so he has a good idea now.
He walk and intentionally make his step louder by wearing shoes with hard bottom. He walk slowly to make dramatic effect. He got up on the left rail that face the audience. He crossed his arms and spread his legs.
"What happen here?"-Jon
Jon said that with low and heavy voice, make it more dramatic. With his sharingan active, the Foxy pirates also seem very intimidated. He had made a very epic entrance, he always like it. They thought that Jon is Strawhat's trump card.
"Boss, he looks strong, maybe we need to take him first"-Porche
"Yeah you're right"-Foxy
The Strawhats go up to their ship and go inside the kitchen. Sanji ask Jon to place the space seal in the kitchen. Jon didn't understand why, but he just do it. When he finished, the crew laugh very hard.
"Hahaha, did you see their face?"-Luffy
"Hahaha, yeah, they're so afraid"-Usopp
"That was a good performance Jon."-Nami
"So, what really happen here?"-Jon
Chopper keep checking Jon condition while they all sit and talk.
"We're about to have a match with them"-Zoro
"Yeah, it's Davy Back Fight"-Sanji
"Davy Back Fight?"-Jon
"It's a pirate game where two crew betting their crew member and the winner can pick any crew member to join them."-Robin
"Ooh, so why are we doing this?"-Jon
Luffy explain what happen to him, and this is also the first time he told this to the crew. Now they understand why Luffy accept this. He got provoked, but if it's them, they will do the same.
"So we must take this ho~rse from them right? Then what about the other match? There's three round so if we win all we need to pick two more."-Jon
"Well, we will think about that later."-Luffy
"Alright, then what about the rules?"-Jon
Robin explain the basic rules of Davy Back fight to him.
1. The contestants for each event are chosen by the captains before the game begins and the contestants cannot be changed. Contestants can only participate in one event. Since the line-ups cannot be changed, the winning team can steal a crew member that is competing in the next event to give their team an advantage.
2. If a crew member is lost in one event, they can be won back in the next event, but not in future Davy Back Fights after the current one is over, unless the captains of both crews involved agree to another Davy Back competition.
3. All crew members that are won must immediately swear permanent allegiance to their new captain.
4. Any form of cheating is not allowed during the contests.
"Are you sure about the last part?"-Jon
"Well, not really. They will certainly do something to win."-Robin
"Then it means cheating is allowed as long as no one know it or acknowledge it."-Jon
"We need to fight fairly"-Luffy
"Luffy, it's fair if they helped their crew member and we help our's"-Jon
"That's.."-Luffy got confused
"Then let's help only if they helped their crew member, so it will be fair."-Jon
"Alright"-Luffy
They all go out and meet the Foxy pirates. The game will start soon so they make preparations. Both crew face off with each other.
"So what's the three games?"-Jon
"You will know it later, pepepepe"-Foxy
"So you're cheating by not announcing the games? Luffy, it seem we have win by default."-Jon
"Cheating? Who see me cheating?"-Foxy
The Foxy pirates look away while whistling, they're as bad as Luffy at lying.
"Oh, is that so? Then i guess i will take cheat in all games later"-Jon
"You can't do that, you will be disqualified now if you cheat, ppepepepe."-Foxy
"That's right"-Foxy pirates
"Eh, did you guys hear me say i will cheat?"-Jon
""No""-Strawhats
Jon ask the strawhats and they all said 'No', even tough Luffy look very bad at lying like usual.
"See? It seem the foxy pirates like to accused their opponent of something they didn't do. What a despicable people."-Jon smirk
The foxy pirates became dumbfounded because they are the ones that always use this to trick their opponent, but now it's reversed.
"Hmph, 8 people words can't beat hundreds of people word."-Foxy
"Oh, i'm not sure about that. Crew member will always do what their captain ordered, so it just two crew, not hundreds of people. Or you want to say that your crew member didn't listen to you? What a pitiful captain you are."-Jon
Foxy is fume with rage, but everyone else is giggling, even his crew member.
'They're just a bunch of idiots, not that bad of people. But they're still pirates so we must stay vigilance'-Jon
"GAAHH, ALRIGHT ALRIGHT YOU WIN. I will tell you the games. The first one is Donut Race, two teams will build a boat from some barrels and race around this island. The second game is Groggy Ring, a member of each team will be ball and the other team need to put the ball inside the goal, weapons are forbid in this game. Third game will be Captain's fight, only the captains will fight. The location will be choosed by randomly shot a canonball."-Foxy
'Hmm, for the first game, they maybe have some tricks to hinder us but i don't know what or they will make their boat have some secret machine or something like that. The second game, i'm sure they will use weapons. The last game, maybe they will cheat about the location, but where? Hmm, i'll think about it later.'-Jon
Then after everyone ready, the first game will start. The strawhats have make an arrangement for the teams composition because they can only play in a game each. Nami, Robin, and Usopp will play in first game. Jon, Zoro and Sanji in second game. Luffy of course in third game as only captain will fight there. Chopper will not play because each game only has 3 member to participate except Captain's fight.
In the first game, each crew can build the boat from 3 barrels and 2 oars. With Usopp's skill, the boat is pretty decent, but the opponent's boat is better. Well it's not a boat, but a carriage that pulled on the sea by an orange start shark. Even one of the team member is a fishman.
It's Jon's first time seeing a fishman and he is very curious. He has read it in Alabasta but never saw it himself. But now is not the time for it, they have a game to win. Jon give Usopp some breat dials and jet dials that have been charged to use later. It will be like a motor for boat.
"Usopp, just use them all, and Robin will charge them while moving. That way the dials can always be used. I will also put some other dials in case you need them. If they come close to you or you need to attack them, use the axe dial, they will sink immediately. If anyone here help them, i will take care of it. So just win this."-Jon whisper to the three team members.
"Alright"-Usopp
"Take care of the one that will cheat later, but don't let Luffy see it or he will make a fuss"-Nami
The two teams then go to starting line and given an Eternal Pose so they won't stray away from the island.
"START!"-Host
The teams then move, Foxy team move fast with the shark pulling their boat. Usopp immediately use breath dials to chase after them. But suddenly the foxy pirates throw so many barrels to the sea.
"Pepepepe, race will not be interesting without obstacle right? If you can't even passed obstacle like this, then you can't sail in grandline."-Foxy
The shark easily avoid the barrels but Strawhat team stopped because they're sure it's a trap. Jon use his sharingan to see the barrels and immediately call Nami with denden mushi.
"Use the breath dials and make the barrels go away, it filled with gunpowder. It will explode if you hit it."-Jon
"Alright"-Nami
The three of them immediately use some breath dials. Robin use her power to hold the dials in every direction. Unknown to them some barrels move to foxy team position. They're not that far apart yet.
The barrels hit each other and it explode and it make chain reaction. Strawhat team that use breath dials push the wind away so the fire from explosion also pushed away. But the foxy pirates aren't as lucky, the barrels have come near them so when it explode, they got flown away.
The foxy team has fall to the sea and their boat is broken. They have disqualified and Strawhat team has win.
"T-the Strawhat team win. T-the foxy team has fall to the sea and their boat is destroyed so they got d-disqualified."-Host
Everyone got dumbfounded, even the Strawhat team. They only push away the barrels but it sink their opponent instead.
"Y-Yosh, just as what i have planned"-Usopp
No one rebuke him, the Strawhats just let it go so they can intimidate Foxy pirates a bit. Jon also cover Luffy's mouth so he won't say something unnecessary. The Foxy pirates actually believe Usopp's lie as they're just a bunch of simple minded people.
"W-what a smart man"-Crew G
"Yeah, he could plan something like that in a moment"-Crew E
Now Foxy also can't say anything because he is the one who said about obstacle, and they're the ones that make this obstacle. Jon even record his speech with tone dial before and now he replay it again and again. This of course make Foxy embarassed.
"GAH. Just hurry up and take someone that you want!"-Foxy
"Then i'll take Cherie"-Luffy
Cherie then got released and meet with her owner, Tonjit. He thanks the Strawhats many times for saving his partner. The Strawhats just smile seeing the old man and his ho~rse. Then the game continue.
The second game is Groggy Ring, and like before, the Foxy pirates have made the arena. It's like a Futsal arena but they use ring as a goal and a team member as a ball. Jon will become the ball because he's the fastest and can dodge easily. Zoro and Sanji will attack and score.
The Foxy pirates send a team called the Groggy Monsters. Just from their name, it's easy to know they are experienced in Groggy Ring. Then 3 big guy come out, and they all are bigger than Strawhat team. They are Hamburg, Pickles and Big Pan and the later is bigger than former.
Their biggest member, Big Pan is the one that become ball. Foxy said they never lost because the ball is too tall and big. But Jon knew they will certainly cheat, and the referee will side with them.
"Zoro, Sanji, come here! I have a plan."-Jon
The three of them make a circle and listen to Jon's strategy.
"They will certainly cheat, i don't know how but the referee will support them. Most likely they will use weapons. But we can't cheat while they cheat, Luffy will not allow that and you two also want to trample their pride in their own game right?"-Jon
Zoro and Sanji smirk and nod.
"Of course"-Sanji
"We will defeat them when they're sure of winning"-Zoro
"Okay, so here's my plan..."-Jon
Jon whisper his plan and sometime later, the game has start.
