The phones weren't too advanced but they were at least handheld to some extent. Unless you count the chunky bricks as handheld.
The phones that he uses and has given to his friends are like smartphones from the future. So there is a big difference.
Howard's face showed up immediately after he answered the call and he couldn't wait to just walk towards the slightly temporary platform in the hall.
"Are they ready to come?" King asked while looking at Howard's excited face.
"Yeah, they are coming out." Howard nodded his head and started walking towards the platform.
King and the girls quickly followed behind him along with Peggy in tow. They were Howard's friends and had to be the first to congratulate.
"Maria, you are here." Howard smiled and went forward to receive his wife. She was carrying the child in her arms and walking towards the platform with a smile.
It's been a month since Tony's birth and she has sufficiently recovered as well to do her daily activities and be out and about.
Howard also hosted the party now. So that Maria would be well and she will be able to enjoy the party as well.
"Congratulations, you two and to the little guy as well." King went forward and squeezed Tony's cheeks while congratulating the two of them.
"Thanks King." Maria smiled softly and thanked him.
The four girls behind King also went forward and congratulated the two the girls had something else to discuss with Maria.
"Hey Maria, how did it feel?" Elaine looked at Maria and whispered in her ears in a low voice.
"Feel what?" Maria was a bit puzzled and asked back subconsciously.
"You know, giving birth." Diane quipped in and explained.
"Um, it was painful at first but after seeing the little guy's face. It all felt that it was worth it." Maria caressed Tony's cheek tenderly with love and smiled at the four girls.
"I see." Emma nodded her head and voiced out. The others also nodded along with her to express understanding.
"Are you guys planning to?" Maria looked at the four of them alternatively and asked.
"We want to as well." Freyja nodded and expressed their concerns.
'We want to but that bad guy isn't going to yet.' Emma thought resentfully and looked at King's back with glaring eyes.
The other three followed her gaze and also glared at King menacingly like they wanted to eat him alive with their eyes.
"What?" King felt their wrong gazes and asked while looking at them with a puzzled face.
"Nothing Dear, you continue." Elaine shook her head and went back to talking with Maria. 'Men.' The girls rolled their eyes.
King shrugged his shoulders when they didn't give him a straight answer. 'Women.' King rolled his eyes and went back to talking with Howard.
"Man, it gets hard to please them during pregnancy." Howard was currently complaining about his experience to King.
"Once, I was working on a project and was on a critical breakthrough. She called me and said that if I don't go back now then I will only see a corpse. I was sweating hard and had to hurry back.
When I returned, all she wanted was for me to help her buy ice cream from a nearby store. I was about to flip I tell you." Howard was proper whining to King at the moment.
"Man, it's hard being a father. Don't worry, now that you have Tony. You should feel that all your troubles were worth it." King patted him on the shoulder and assured him.
"Yeah man, I feel much more refreshed when I look at that cute little face." Howard nodded his head and looked at Tony in Maria's eyes affectionately.
"See, so forget about your whining and look towards the future." King smiled and both of them then stopped talking about this topic altogether.
"I feel that if Steve was here. This whole thing would've been even better." Howard suddenly got sentimental and blurted out while looking at the people in the hall.
"Leave it man, lover boy would just keep following Peggy around like a puppy." King also smiled and joked about it.
"True." Howard also nodded and snickered like he could see it happening.
"What are you two talking about?" A feminine voice broke them out of their talk and both of them looked back at Peggy coming towards them.
"Nothing much, just some guys' thing. You done talking to the guests?" Howard shook his head and tacitly didn't say what they were talking about.
"Yeah, just finished. I was about to go and talk to Maria and the others but saw you two snickering." Peggy nodded with a smile and said.
"We are just having fun together. You can go and talk to Elaine and others. Go, shoo shoo." King waved his hand and chased Peggy away from them jokingly.
"Alright, you guys enjoy yourselves." Peggy laughed and walked away from the two guys.
"I thought we were fucked there." Howard wiped the sweat that formed on his forehead and looked at Peggy's retreating back with palpitations.
"It wasn't that bad." King didn't take it to mind and said lightly.
"You don't know man. She is very feisty. She shot Steve when he held the shield to test it out like nothing. I don't want to test her temper." Howard said with some fear while remembering that scene.
"Alright leave the lover boy and her. Now, what do you say we feast on some of that fine food. It's been teasing my eyes since I stepped in." King waved his hand and forcefully changed the subject to food.
"Yeah, I haven't had something to eat since afternoon." Howard rubbed his stomach and laughed while following behind King.
They came to the tables and started devouring the food on the tables like vacuum machines. Their stomachs were devouring everything.
"Look at them." Freyja laughed and directed Maria and Peggy's eyes towards the two of them.
"These guys." Emma shook her head and sighed. She has to deal with this everyday.
"Let's join them." Diane had some drool at the corner of her mouth and looked at the plates full of food.
The others just rolled their eyes at her but still followed along to get some food and socialise with other guests in the venue.
