47. Banquet
"We should go to Mom's room before going to the banquet hall". King said and the other two also agreed.
So they changed their direction and started walking towards Aelsa's room in a leisure manner. There was no rush anyway.
"Your Highness, pleas wait. Her Majesty is getting ready". A maid bowed and stopped King and Elaine in their tracks.
They aren't young kids that they used to be. Even though by Alfheim standards they are toddlers but their bodies are grown up and this is not appropriate anymore.
"It's fine, let them in". A gentle voice came from inside the room and the door opened.
King and the two went inside the room and saw that Aelsa was already dressed in a blur gown with her hairs tied into a fashionable bun.
She looked fresh and pleasant with just these two changes to her hairstyle and dress.
'Clothing and hairstyle can really change your image so much'. King couldn't help thinking when he saw these changes.
"What is it?" Aelsa asked after she got up from the dressing table.
"Nothing, just came to visit. I thought we should go together to the banquet". King shook his head and smiled.
"Thanks for visiting". Aelsa also smiled and nodded her head.
"Hmph". Elaine pouted her mouth when looking at Aelsa. She was trying to remind her that she has not been forgiven yet.
"This girl". Aelsa just held her forehead and shook her head in helplessness.
"What do you want to forgive me?" She finally couldn't help it and asked.
"Hehe". Elaine's mouth curled up like she finally succeeded.
"You have to announce my engagement with King as well". Elaine crossed her arms in front of her chest and spoke.
"I was going to do that today". Aelsa nodded her head with a wry smile and rubbed Elaine's head tenderly.
She couldn't get angry at her two children. Even though she punished them before but it was out of helplessness and for their own good.
King is now 19 years old and Elaine is 24 years old. King's engagement with Freyja will be announced next year and she will Elaine's engagement today.
Aelsa also has a headache that King seems to have another one coning around. Plus, Aelsa is suspicious that Diane's origins might not be simple as well.
"Let's have some tea and wait for the banquet to start". Aelsa said and Diane promptly went to fetch some tea for the three of them.
'Haaa, she will have to stop doing this if King really gets it on with her and we will have to find another or not find one altogether'. Aelsa sighed with a bit of complicated eyes while looking at Diane's back.
After the tea was brought over. All of them sat down around the small table in the room and enjoyed the tea.
Meanwhile, guests were converging over to Ljosalfgard for the banquet arranged by Aelsa and all the kingdoms' monarchs came themselves.
"It's time". Aelsa said while looking towards castle gates and perceiving the arrival of the guests.
"Let's go". Elaine stood up enthusiastically and couldn't wait to go and announce her engagement.
All of them smiled at her antics and started walking towards the Banquet hall for the upcoming event.
'To be honest, I can't be asked to go to the banquet'. King lamented in his mind but he has to do what he has to do.
"Long live Your Majesty and Your Highnesses!" As soon as Alex and the other stepped into the room. A loud cheer was given by the knights and the ministers.
"Please be at ease". Aelsa spoke majestically and looked at everyone from the balcony.
There was special podium made for the royal family to appear when a Banquet was held and they would appear higher than everyone at that time.
There were stairs leading downstairs on the side that go into a spiral form. They can give their speech and then go to mix with everyone after they are finished.
The purpose of every arrangement here is to show off the majesty of their ruler. There is nothing else that matters here.
"Are we welcome as well?" Suddenly, the banquet hall's door opened and two additional parties came in.
The two were Frey along with Gerd and his two daughters and Odin along with Angrboda and Hela in tow.
"Welcome, Alfheim has always been very welcoming to its guests". Aelsa smiled and nodded her head after hearing their words.
"Please don't mind us". Frey said and led the way in towards some ministers that he knew from before.
Odin was here to get some information of Alfheim and what better occasion than the Banquet of their prince.
"I welcome everyone who has decided to join my children's homecoming banquet after their valorous adventures. Please fell free to enjoy". Aelsa spoke calmly with a majestic momentum.
Everyone on scene started to socialise when Aelsa gave her permission and talked about some deals and news of their kingdoms.
"My honour to have guests of two of the upper realms". Aelsa calmly walked over to Frey and Odin. She spoke and scrutinised Odin a bit more since their relations have been deteriorating ever since.
And the two came in with her permission when they came outside the realm but she didn't say anything until they came into the banquet hall.
"I am here to make a deal with Alfheim". Odin spoke up calmly without a single fluctuation on his young face.
Aelsa's face changed a little but she controlled it well and faced Odin calmly. "What deal are you here to propose?" Aelsa asked and isolated the two of them with her magic.
"Are you willing to surrender to Asgard?" Odin also didn't beat around the bush and went to the topic.
"I would suggest that you keep these to yourself and not put your eyes on this Realm. We have been neutral and are not afraid to face anyone". Aelsa's aura flared up and she looked at Odin deeply.
