39. Enchanted Forest 3
Lopt followed behind while wagging its tail and looking around vigilantly for any odd things that may endanger its owner.
"Sleep here for now". King laid Elaine on the bed inside the small house in the tree and closed the door before going back out.
Elaine literally made a small home inside the that tree for the two of them and it wasn't all that big. It was barely enough to fit a bed and maybe a cupboard and that's it.
But it is still better than nothing and it has a door that can protect from insects and other small creepers during the stay.
King didn't forget put an illusion on top of it like there was nothing wrong with the thing and it was all good as old.
"Now let's go and hunt". King levitated beside Chastiefol and made Loot stay at this location to protect Elaine.
"Sorry buddy but I can't leave her unprotected". He rubbed Lopt's head apologetically.
"Woof". Lopt wagged it's tail and nodded.
"Good boy". King smiled and took off with Chastiefol floating beside him.
King used the wind to feel the surroundings more clearly and spot any dangers before they come close to him.
'A black wolf without its pack'. King's eyes gleamed in excitement when he spotted the target and saw the black wolf while hiding and masking his smell with the wind.
'Increase'. King spoke in his mind and Chastiefol immediately turned into tens of small daggers which was limit of King's current capability.
The daggers flew and immediately cut towards the unsuspecting wolf in front. The wolf's ears twitched and it howled at the flying daggers.
A power shockwave spread that nearly made the flying daggers stumble on their path forward. Some of them were affected and paused while the others continued.
King made the daggers go from the side and he Wolf quickly jumped to avoid the daggers but that was its downfall because the dagger targeted its abdomen in the air and went through it without getting time to dodge.
'I am surprisingly calm for my first kill. Probably a product of Divinity of Death'. King pondered for a moment and ordered the daggers to skin the wolf before washing the blood with some small water magic.
'The food is prepared'. King dusted his hands and lugged the wolf back to the treehouse for some cooking.
'Oh isn't that chillies'. The chillies here weren't the same as the ones on earth. They were blue in colour and looked round like some blue berries but they were actually quite spicy.
King knew about them because he has seen some illustrations in the books that he has read before in the library.
After taking all the chillies on the bush. He continued on his way to the tree. 'Just need some salt, where to find that. Think'. King started to sweep through the info in his mind and thought on how to find some salt.
People's first order of survival is to find shelter, water, fire and food. Then comes the essential things that the body needs like the salt and other things.
Especially when the duration is quite long in these things then you need even more of these and securing it early will be a good advantage.
'It cannot be done in haste today. It's getting late, eat something and go to sleep. Have to search for it tomorrow'. King pondered and came to a conclusion after some thought.
He got into the tree house and Lopt followed after him. Then he looked at the sleeping Elaine and was hesitant to wake her up.
"Elaine". He called softly and shook her slowly.
"Hmm". Elaine hummed and twisted her body. She was unwilling to wake up.
"Wake up!" King shouted in her ear and lugged her on his shoulder like some bag of luggage.
"I'm awake". Elaine screamed and tried to get off from King's shoulder but couldn't because of his strength.
King took her all the way outside and made her stand on the ground. Then he came in front of her immediately.
"Let's go and collect some dry wood. Loot will go with you and meet me in half an hour". King said and took off towards the woods.
"Hmph, bully". Elaine pouted in dissatisfaction but still took Lopt to look for some dry wood.
After collecting the woods, they came back to the treehouse and King built a simple bonfire for the two of them.
"Here you go". After roasting some wolf meat. He gave the two big hind legs to Lopt and divided the rest into pieces and gave some to Elaine.
Elaine ate the food vey elegantly with small bites and looked at King gorging down on the food but still remaining elegant and graceful without letting a single drop of oil dirty him and his clothes.
"Let's go to sleep now". After closing the roasting of meat and having their full. King asked Elaine to get into the house.
"Hey, let's watch the stars". Elaine suddenly around and said.
"Hmm, stars?" King was confused and asked subconsciously.
"Yeah". Elaine nodded and grabbed his hand to sit on the grass comfortably while leaning on his shoulder.
King didn't resist and let her be self willed for once and sat down on the grass with her to look at the sky full of beautiful stars and galaxies.
"Hey King". Elaine spike softly while looking at the sky.
"What is it?" King asked and looked at her with corner of his eyes.
"Do you think Freyja will leave you after what we did?" Elaine asked and was a bit happy in her heart if it really happened.
"I don't think so". King shook his head and denied.
"Why?" Elaine asked with a bit of anger.
"Because this engagement and marriage is not a small matter. Plus you have already acquiesced to Diane. So why be opposed to this?" King turned his to her and asked.
Elaine was silent and didn't answer his question. King also let go and just sat there silently.
