Going To Cheng Mansion

Going To Cheng Mansion

1Mo Roulan stopped in front of Cheng Mansion.       3

She looked uneasy as she looked at the huge gates. It had been a long time since she had come here last. And there was no doubt that after whatever happened she felt slightly uncomfortable with going inside.

However, she wanted to see Cheng Yang once.

After she had come to know that Cheng Yang has left the college, she had been feeling very confused, guilty, and upset. She could not help but wonder if it was because of her.

Taking a deep breath, Mo Roulan walked towards the entrance gates.

The security guard recognized her at first glance and allowed her to go inside. However, when she went inside, he called in the mansion to inform Butler Cheng of her arrival.

Butler Cheng who had just put down the phone

Also had a very uneasy expression on his face.

Mrs. Cheng who was sitting in the living room and looking at some documents noticed Butler Cheng's expression and asked him what was wrong.

Butler Cheng was just thinking that how he should tell his mistress.

He was afraid that Mrs Cheng would get angry after whatever had happened. A moment later, he opened his mouth and was about to say something when Mrs Cheng's eyes suddenly went towards the entrance of the living hall where Mo Roulan was standing.

Mrs Cheng's face immediately went blank.

Butler Cheng who realized the change in her expression followed her gaze and stiffened when he saw Mo Roulan.

Mo Roulan also sensed the strange atmosphere in the living room. However, since she was already here, she couldn't now turn around and leave just like that.

She could only step forward and greet Mr.s Cheng.

Mrs. Cheng nodded his head with a forced smile on her lips.

Butler Cheng was relieved when he saw this and said that he would bring some water. Mo Roulan had wanted him to stop but he was fast.

Mrs Cheng signed Mo Roulan to sit.

Mo Roulan smiled politely and sat down on the couch.

She couldn't help but look around and then towards the room where she used to tutor Cheng Yang.

"He is not in the Mansion."

Mo Roulan was startled when she heard Mrs Cheng's words. She felt embarrassed because of being caught but could only nod her head and whisper 'oh'

Butler Cheng brought water and Mo Roulan took a sip.

Butler Cheng left again while Mo Roulan wondered how she should ask Mrs Cheng what she wanted to ask.

"I…will he come late? I wanted to talk to him regarding something."

Mo Roulan finally asked Mrs Cheng.

Mrs Cheng looked at Mo Roulan's face for a few moments before she told her

"He has left the city."

"What?"

Mo Roulan whispered with a pale face.

Many thoughts suddenly started to occupy her mind and the guilt inside her heart increased. She suddenly wondered if the hurt she had inflicted on Cheng Yang was greater than she had thought.

Did she hurt him so much that he couldn't even bear to live in the same city as her?

Mo Roulan swallowed and clenched her fists tightly.

Cheng Yang didn't deserve that.

She came out of her trance only when she heard Mrs. Cheng.

"I am surprised that you didn't know, Miss Mo. He didn't tell you."

"No…"

Mo Roulan answered in a low voice.

Mrs. Cheng could see that she looked very low after hearing what she had told him. She couldn't help but frown as she looked at Mo Roulan.

It took her a few moments to ask her

"Are you alright, Mo Roulan?"

Mo Roulan raised her head to look at Mrs. Cheng. She could see Mrs. Cheng's concern for her. Perhaps she looked too bad right now.

Mo Roulan forced a smile on her lips and nodded her head.

"I should leave I guess."

She stood up as she said.

The concern expressed by Mrs. Cheng made her feel more guilty. She sent her son away from her. Mrs. Cheng would surely despise her when she would come to know of this.

Mo Roulan had just turned around when she heard Mrs. Cheng saying

"He didn't leave because of you if you are blaming yourself."

Mo Roulan froze. She doubted that Cheng Yang's mother knew everything.

And the next few words said by her proved her guess right.

"My son is not that weak, Mo Roulan. He is very strong. It is just that…he needs a change. After whatever happened…my husband passed a year ago but Cheng Yang was immensely affected by his death. I and Cheng Yang thought that it would be better if he would finish his studies somewhere else."

Mo Roulan swallowed.

Her heart was slightly heavy.

She didn't even know how she turned around and looked at Mrs. Cheng.

Mrs. Cheng's face didn't have any emotion.

"I understand. Thanks."

Mo Roulan said in a low voice.

Regardless of what Mrs. Cheng said, Mo Roulan would not stop blaming herself. She had lived two life so, in her eyes, she should have been mature enough to reject Cheng Yang's proposal on the first day itself.

That would have saved both of them from going through this unnecessary suffering and pain.

Mo Roulan just wanted to leave now. However, before she could do so, Mrs. Cheng suddenly asked her

"Did you…"

Mrs. Cheng swallowed before she continued her question

"Did you break up with him because of his condition in the past?"

Though Mrs. Cheng's face was emotionless, there was an edge in her voice when she asked the question. Her voice was cold when she questioned Mo Roulan.

"No!"

Mo Roulan said immediately.

"Then why did you break up with my son?"

Mrs. Cheng couldn't help but ask Mo Roulan.

Cheng Yang had been inconsolable when he returned that evening. She had thought so many times about why Mo Roulab broke up with her son but she couldn't find any answer except one.

Her Cheng Yang was good at studies. He was polite, respectful, caring, and loving. There was just one thing that went wrong in his life.

That was her husband's death.

Those circumstances broke her son completely. So Mrs. Cheng thought that Mo Roulan doubted her son's psychological condition and hence she break up with Cheng Yang.
