CEO He : Please Don't Love Me

"Qianru!"     

He spoke Lin Qianru's name in an emotionless voice and said      

"Did I not ask you to have rest in your apartment?"     

Lin Qianru didn't look in Chi Rong's eyes. She felt guilty because she had lied to Chi Rong. However, her thoughts were completely different from Chi Rong.      

She thought that Chi Rong must be thinking of her as some fraud. She took a month's leave from his mansion and she was still getting paid during her holidays.      

And adding to that, she was also working at some other place.      

Lin Qianru felt so embarrassed that she didn't have the courage to raise her head and looked at Chi Rong.      

However, what could she even do!     

She had been constantly worried about gathering enough money for her daughter and son to complete their studies.      

Lin Qianru thought that she should have at least that much money so that Mo Roulan would be able to complete her graduation because she believed that once her daughter was done with graduation, she would be able to get a job and manage Mo Chen's studies.      

She knew that she was putting all the burden on Mo Roulan, however, she didn't have any other way.      

So she took any job she could to collect money.      

Lin Qianru couldn't really tell all this to Chi Rong but she decided to be a little honest.      

"Mr, Chi, I needed money so I…"     

However, Chi Rong didn't even let her finish her sentence and said in a slightly loud voice     

"Then you should have told me. I would have given you the money…more than this job of the waiter is giving you."      

In his anger, Chi Rong didn't seem to realize how his word sounded to someone who was doing the job he was talking about.      

However, Lin Qianru did feel hurt by Chi Rong's words.      

She blinked at first as the words slowly registered in her mind and then she suddenly wondered what was she to Chi Rong for him to talk like this to her.      

Was she some sort of charity case in his eyes whom he could give money?     

The thought made Lin Qianru's heart cold and she suddenly looked at Chi Rong expressionlessly.     

"Thank you so much for your generous offer, Mr. Chi. However, I am very much capable of earning to meet the need of my and my family."     

It was only then that Chi Rong realized what he just said.      

His lips parted and then closed as he tried to come up with something.      

Seeing Lin Qianru's expressionless face, Chi Rong suddenly felt panicked inside his heart.. especially when she turned around to open the door of the car.      

"Qianru…"     

In his panic, he held Lin Qianru's hand to stop her from opening the door and getting outside. However, Lin Qianru flinched under his touch and took back her hand as if she had just touched the fire.      

She looked at Chi Rong warily.      

Chi Rong was again hurt when he saw this.      

He swallowed and sighed heavily before he said      

"I am sorry, Qianru. I didn't mean to say that…I just …I was worried about your health."     

Chi Rong looked at Lin Qianru as he tried to explain. However, she merely nodded her head and her face was still expressionless making him unable to find out whether she really accepted his explanation or not.      

"Mr. Chi doesn't need to worry."     

Lin Qianru said politely but still coldly.      

"I apologize for what happened today. I would like to resign…"     

Chi Rong's eyes widened when he heard the word resign.      

"No!"     

He said immediately when he saw Lin Qianru looking at himself with a blank face, he said whatever came to his mind.      

"Qianru, we still need to act in front of my uncle."     

As soon as Chi Rong finished, he wanted to hit himself. He had never felt so panicked in his life before.      

And hence he had never made such silly mistakes.      

However, what could Chi Rong do when he was unable to understand what was happening to him?      

Lin Qianru nodded her head understanding what Chi Rong said, however, she thought that she could still come to see his uncle when he would say.      

But she felt very uncomfortable with doing a job in Chi Mansion after what Chi Rong said to her.      

It was true that she was in some desperate need of money but that didn't mean that she would take money that she didn't deserve… especially the way Chi Rong put it she felt very uncomfortable with that.      

It reminded her of certain someone…the man she had loved before and how he had tried to put a price label on her feelings.      

"I would still like to resign."     

She said firmly.      

Chi Rong's face was completely blank as he looked at Lin Qianru.      

All his anger had already vanished and he was now left with regret and guilt. His had definitely hurt her greatly.     

But he didn't want her to leave the job.      

Chi Rong's face suddenly went cold and he said coldly      

"I have already given you the salary for this month."     

Chi Rong despised himself when he saw Lin Qiantu's pale face, however, he could only act like this.      

"I can return…"     

Understanding what she was about to say, he interrupted her immediately.      

"No! I want you to come and do your job."     

He said with an emotionless face.      

Lin Qianru nodded her head blankly.      

"Alright, Mr. Chi."     

After this, Lin Qianru left the car and Chi Rong couldn't stop her.      

He exhaled sharply when she was completely out of his sight.      

Chi Rong suddenly punched the seat in front of him in frustration.      

He just messed up everything.      

However, the most messed up thing was that he didn't understand the reason behind his actions...or perhaps he did.      

However, he was afraid to accept it.      

Ignoring the conflict, Chi Rong instead planned silently how he could make Lin Qiantru forgive her when she would come to Chi Mansion tomorrow.      

He was not going to let her leave the job in any situation.
