The Panicked Liu Ji Fan
Thinking that it can be her mother this time, she walked towards the door with her phone still in her hands.
It was indeed her mother when Mo Roulan opened the door.
"Mom"
Mo Roulan smiled as she opened the door wide.
Lin Qianru smiled weakly. Seeing this, Mo Roulan couldn't help but ask
"Are you tired?"
"A little."
Lin Qianru answered as she stepped inside the apartment.
"I will cook the dinner in half an hour."
Mo Roulan shook her head when she heard her mother saying this.
"II have already cooked the dinner. Have the dinner and then go to your room to rest."
Mo Roulan said strictly as she walked inside the apartment with her hand around her mother's shoulder, Lin Qianru smiled hearing the strictness in her daughter's words.
"You should not have. You also must be tired."
She said to her daughter but Mo Roulan waved her hand. Instead, she brought up the matter she had been thinking about for so many days.
"Mom, what do you think about leaving your job? Isn't getting very tired for you?"
"Ah…"
Lin Qianru was startled when Mo Roulan suddenly brought up this matter.
"I am not tired."
She said instantly. Actually, she had been thinking to leave this job at Chi Mansion but it was not because she was starting to feel tired but it because she felt that it would slightly be awkward to work in Chi Mansion after whatever happened today.
Though Chi Rong cleverly avoided the matter of marriage when Uncle Song brought it up today, the situation between them was very awkward now. At least for her.
She was afraid that if Chi Rong asked her to come to meet his uncle again then she would not be able to able to refuse because of her soft-heartedness.
And that would only give more hope to his uncle that at some point in the future they would marry each other. She felt very uncomfortable with the thought itself.
The only thing that stopped Lin Qianru from leaving this job right now was the high salary she got from this job. She was able to save a large part of her salary for Mo Chen and Mo Roulan's future and hence Lin Qianru was a little unwilling to leave this job as she was sure that she would not get such a job in the future anywhere else.
"Let's have dinner."
Mo Roulan said with a disappointed expression on her face. She didn't want to argue with her mother right now when she already looked so tired.
Lin Qianru also heaved a sigh of relief and Mo Roulan went to the dining room while Lin Qianru came after washing her hands.
She was obviously surprised when she saw Cheng Yang inside the dining room. But she was soon smiling brightly. She had liked this boy since their first meeting.
"Hello, Auntie."
Cheng Yang stood up and greeted Lin Qianru politely. Lin Qianru chuckled and said
"Sit down. What are you getting up for? Roulan, did you serve him dinner? It is so rare to see Cheng Yang here."
Mo Roulan smiled and picked a bowl of dish to serve in Cheng Yang's plate. But before she could do so, Cheng Yang took it from her hands saying that he could do it himself. Mo Roulan let him take the bowl.
It was only when Lin Qianru was about to start eating that she realized that one person was absent from the dining table and she asked her daughter.
"Roulan, Where is Jian?"
The dining room went silent and the atmosphere changed silently after Lin Qianru's question. Cheng Yang was still smiling but his smile was not that bright. He wondered why Lin Qianru was asking such a question.
Was He Jian supposed to have his dinner here …at Mo Roulan's apartment?
"Mr. He has some meeting or I think some kind of party to attend, Mom. He won't be coming tonight."
"Ohh…"
Lin Qianru nodded her head and then continued to eat.
But now Mo Roulan was a little lost.
She tried to remember if there was any business party or dinner on He Jian's schedule today but there was none. She shook her head thinking that it should not matter to her where he was going and focused her attention on the dinner.

"A little more…"
Inside the hospital room, sitting on the hospital bed by Tian Yuan's side, Liu Ji Fan said with puppy eyes. When Tian Yuan didn't say anything, he smiled and forwarded the spoon to his lips.
Tian Yuan drank the soup from the spoon silently.
"Good boy."
Liu Ji Fan said gently.
Tian Yuan wanted to say something sarcastically but his injuries were not light at all. Even a slight movement caused him too much pain.
Liu Ji Fan put the bowl of soup on the bedside table.
"Let me help you in lying down. Then you go to sleep."
Saying this, he put his hand behind Tian Yuan's back. But at the same time, his phone that was placed on the bedtable started to ring.
Tian Yuan's head was in a direction where he could clearly see the name flashing on the screen. Though he did it unconsciously, when he saw the name, his whole body went still.
Liu Ji Fan ignored the ringing phone. But when he felt the change in Tian Yuan's body, he couldn't help but follow his gaze.
And his cold eyes flashed with panic when he saw the name flashing on the screen of his phone.
"Tian Yuan…."
He wanted to say something but Tian Yuan looked away and suddenly avoided Liu Ji Fba's hand that was behind his back.
But Liu Ji Fan immediately held him.
"No, let me help you."
After that, he forcefully helped Tian Yuan but his actions were gentle. Tian Yuan's eyes were blank all this while and it pained Liu Ji Fan to see it.
He cursed himself for not deleting the number before.
After Tian Yuan had closed his eyes, he picked up the phone from the bed and left the hospital room while Tian Yuan opened his eyes to look at his departing back.
Both of them knew why he was in such a condition though they didn't discuss it. He wondered what Liu Ji Fan would have to say this time because this time he was firm on leaving him.
After all, he would not want to live his life fearing that he would be murdered any now or then.
