Cheng Yang Confesses To Mo Roulan

Cheng Yang Confesses To Mo Roulan

1"IlikeyouRoulan."      3

Under the dim lights of streetlight that was set in front of the building, Cheng Yang finally confessed to Mo Roulan. His ears were red as if ready to drip blood.

The next moment, Mo Roulan turned around and looked at Cheng Yang with a frown of her forehead. The small but deep frown made Cheng Yang's heart sank but soon it was lifted up when he heard Mo Roulan saying

"Sorry? What did you say just now? I couldn't understand anything, Cheng Yang."

Anyone with normal human ears would not have been able to understand what Cheng Yang said just now. After all, he had been too fast.

Cheng Yang's face was blank for a moment after he realized what Mo Roulan said just now.

And then the next moment, he was filled with relief as well as disappointment. He himself didn't know which feeling was right.

Should he tell her right now or will it be good if he tell her in the future?

As Cheng Yang continued to think over, he felt different kind of thoughts clouding up his mind. Mo Roulan's constant gaze on him didn't do anything better.

Defeated, he left her wrist and whispered

"Sorry. It was nothing. You should leave."

Mo Roulan, however, didn't really believe him.

Cheng Yang was more mature and sensible than other boys of his age. It was already very unusual of him to call her at this time and then asking her to come down. Mo Roulan sincerely believed that he must had something to talk about but he was not saying a single word.

However, if he refused to tell her she couldn't really force him. Before she used to tutor him, she wanted him to come out of whatever he was suffering and she had also Mrs. Cheng's support or Butler of Cheng Mansion's support. However, now Mo Roulan didn't feel that she had any right to intrude in Cheng Yang's life.

She could only ask him softly.

"Are you sure?"

She wished he would tell her if something was wrong but Cheng Yang shook his head. His head was still lowered so she couldn't see what kind of expression he had on his face as he said

"Yes, you should go back. It's getting late."

So Mo Roulan could only nod her head and turned around to leave.

She had just walked a few steps when she heard Cheng Yang calling out to her again.

"Roulan…"

And then Mo Roulan finally came to know what was wrong with Cheng Yang.

"I like you, Mo Roulan."

Everything seemed to have gone still for Mo Roulan for that few moments. In front of her eyes flashed the scene from yesterday's morning unconsciously.

A pair of deep blue eyes seemed to be engraved in her memory.

Just yesterday, she seemed to have heard the same words from a man's mouth chasing whom she spent the golden years of her life.

The memory alone made her heartbeat quick.

Mo Roulan almost flinched when she heard Cheng Yang's voice again. Her back was still towards Cheng Yang. When she moved, Cheng Yang thought that she was about to turn around so he said hurriedly.

"Don't turn around."

His eyes were filled with love, fear and panic as he continued

"I won't be able to say anything if you will look at me."

And it was true.

Cheng Yang swallowed. He clenched and unclenched his fist again and again before he just started to say whatever was there in his heart.

"I have liked you for a long time but…I could never gather the courage to say it to you."

Looking at the girl who he loved dearly, Cheng Yang smiled and said

"You were like a light in the darkness for me. It sounds a little cringy …but it is true for my situation."

Then his face went serious and his eyes went blank as he said the most difficult words

"I know that it might be very abrupt for you. I won't ask your answer right now. I just wanted you to know about my feelings because I….it was just becoming difficult to hold all this inside."

"You can give me your answer whenever you want. I won't pester you. Unless you call me first, I won't call you again and if you will never call me again, …."

Cheng Yang swallowed and said with bitterness filled voice.

"Then I won't show you my face again."

Mo Roulan stood there stiffly. She never turned around. A few moments later, she heard the light sound of the car being driven and only then did she know that Cheng Yang had left.

Confessions…it was not that she had never been confessed to before.

Mo Roulan was a beautiful, sensible and intelligent girl. Many boys had tried to chase her during high school itself but her indifferent attitude towards them soon made them give up.

Soon all the boys in the town started to say that she was too cold and indifferent. Some even used to say she was too proud by nature and slowly all these things that used to bother her started to become less.

She never minded what others said. Those confessions never mattered to her as long as they were not affecting her life with her family.

But the confessions in the past few days had left her very exhausted.

Mentally as well as physically.

Cheng Yang…she had never expected that he had this kind of feelings for her. Though she was around his age, Mo Roulan was more mature in mind and heart.

She simply couldn't see Cheng Yang in that light. But she could also sense that his feelings were sincere.

Perhaps too deep and sincere and this scared her.

He had already lost his father. Would she push him down to a new abyss by rejecting him?

She sighed breathlessly and then with slow steps, she walked back inside the building. She needed her escape again.

Her sleep…her biggest escape.
