2"Why are you looking at me that way?" Aria questioned as soon as she caught Noah sneaking a glance at her again. She had lost count of the times Noah had looked at her since they had left their apartment.      1

While Ivy and Joshua had taken their car, with Ian following them, Aria and her father had accompanied Noah and Ronnie as they returned to Noah's mansion.     

However, on the way, Noah kept sneaking glances at her, much to her surprise and she had no idea why. Unable to tolerate her curiosity, she fired the question at him when she caught him again and noticed the man's flustered face as he fidgeted in his place.     

Noah glanced at his father-in-law, whose eyes were focused outside the window. But he knew that his ears were on them. So, he had to be careful when he spoke to Aria lest he irked her father.     

"Nothing, Aria. I was just thinking."     

"About?" Aria did not let go and asked him to elaborate. Something was bothering him for sure. She could make it out on his face.     

"Nothing much. I'll tell you once we reach our house."     

Aria looked at him suspiciously but did not say a word and eventually nodded at him, much to his relief.     

Silence filled the car and it was only when they reached the mansion that Oliver turned around to face the couple behind him. "That was so awkward. I have never faced anything so awkward before. It was as if I was sitting on pins and needles."     

Aria blushed while Noah scratched his neck in embarrassment, not expecting his father-in-law to reprimand him like this in front of his guards. But he did not mind it all. Instead, he was more than happy to see that the older man had let go of their differences and forgiven him for what he had done to him in a fit of anger.     

Noah still regretted his behavior and subconsciously looked at Aria, whom he had hurt in his fury.      

"You two need to talk it out and clear your misunderstandings. I will not intervene anymore. I still have work to do." Oliver gave Noah a knowing glance and followed Ronnie inside the mansion as he traced the familiar path to his bedroom.     

Meanwhile, Noah waited until Oliver was out of sight before he held his hand out for Aria to take. At first, there was no reaction. She only raised her brows questioningly. But eventually, she placed her palm in his and he led her inside their room.     

Noah kicked the door close after him and pulled Aria to him, stunning the lady in the process.     

"Noah, what..." Aria did not even have to opportunity to finish her words when Noah's impatient and domineering kiss fell on her lips. It was as if he was waiting to kiss her all this time and now that he had found her alone, he did not hold back at all.     

Aria had no idea what had gotten over him. But she responded to the kiss and slowly wrapped her arms around his neck. She stood on her toes while Noah pulled her closer until she was completely engulfed in his embrace.     

Noah guided Aria towards the bed as he continued kissing her. Not once did he let go of her and he did not stop until they were laying on the bed with him on top of her.     

Aria was panting softly while she stared at him in a daze. Her glazed eyes, swollen lips and low pants added more to Noah's lust. But he just took deep breaths and embraced her as he took a whiff of her smell.     

It was only then Aria noticed his abnormality and she frowned in confusion. "Noah, what's wrong?" She mumbled, her voice barely audible. Nevertheless, Noah heard it.     

"I am sorry." He muttered against her neck and pulled her closer until their chests pressed against each other. But he was careful enough not to put his weight on her and suffocate her.     

"What?" Aria tried to move. But she couldn't release herself from his vice-like grip. Noah's hold on her was impossibly strong and she could not get out of it even if she wanted to.     

"I am so sorry, Aria. Please forgive me for hurting you."     

"What..." Aria stopped when the realization dawned on her and she shut up immediately.      

"I was impulsive back then and kicked you in my anger. I am so sorry." Noah's voice turned hoarse and Aria realized that he was crying.     

"Noah..." She pushed him with all her might and eventually, he pulled away, allowing her to look at his face. "I understand. You were not at fault."     

"No, I was at fault. I should not have let my emotions take over. I am so sorry."     

"I have forgiven you long ago. It's all in the past. Let's not think about it." Aria ran her hand on his arm in assurance and smiled at him warmly.     

"Yes. But I promise it will never happen again. I will control myself from now on and think rationally. I will never let my emotions control me."     

"I trust you, Noah. You can do it. Now, will you let go? Otherwise, I'll start suffocating soon."     

Noah immediately let go of her and lay beside her, pulling her with him until she was in his arms. He let out a sigh and stared at the ceiling while Aria drew circles in his chest.     

"When will Theo arrive?" She queried when she noticed the man lost in thoughts.     

"He will be here the day after tomorrow."      

"Have you thought of anything?"     

"In what regards?" Noah's gaze shifted to her and Aria raised her head to meet his eyes.     

"Regarding that Jared's remaining targets are Theo and Grandpa."     

"I have already thought something. But I need Theo's cooperation in this." Noah answered and Aria nodded lightly. "And as to Grandpa, I have already arranged for more guards to protect him. Don't worry, I will never allow anything to happen to them. Jared must go through me before he gets to anybody I cherish."     

"But please be careful. I do not want you stressing yourself and falling sick like last time."     

"Do not worry, darling." Noah smiled at her and pecked her forehead. "With you around, nothing will ever happen to me. Just be by my side, and I will surely win this battle."     

"I am always with you, Noah, forever."     

Noah did not say a word. Instead, he turned over and kissed her lips again, pouring out all his love for her and showing her how much she meant to him.
