My Gown is Way Better

My Gown is Way Better

0After dropping off the twins, Christina and Andrea, together with Arti and two other bodyguards, drove off to the Peninsula Hotel. It was where the showcase would be held the following day and also where Andrea would get changed.

"Wow!" Andrea said, taken aback by the fact that her mother-in-law and her new business partner had booked the biggest hotel in Beijing. "Mom, did you really have to go to the extent of using this hotel?"

Christina held her by the arm and smiled lazily, "Well, the client wanted to hold the wedding here. It was only practical that the showcase is as realistic as possible. Besides, if he approves of everything, he will refund us all our expenses."

As they walked inside the lobby, Christina said, "Andy, we need for you to be perfect - absolutely perfect for the show tomorrow morning. So now, let's start by getting you some spa treatments and nail polish." She giggled before adding, "Actually, I think I will join you."

"Mom, I'm not here to steal the husband to be. Is this really necessary?"

"Pfft! I will spank you if you even try to look at another man other than my son. Haha! But, yes, it is very important. Everything has to be perfect, as instructed by my very strict client."

Andrea smirked at her words. She found it rather odd how she can be so casual about this situation. She wasn't sure how her husband would feel about showing herself to another man in a wedding dress.

"Mom, I'm worried Lu Fang might get angry about this. Should we wait until his plane lands and ask for his permission?"

"Oh... I know what you mean. I know him well being my son, but don't worry, my dear. I will take care of all the explanation," Christina said while showing an uneasy expression. She then turned to Arti gave her their belongings. "Arti, why don't you head up first to the room while Andy and I get pampered."

"But mom, I need my phone. I will call Lu Fang when he arrives in France."

"Andy, his plane won't arrive in the next eight hours. Let's go," she said, rushing her daughter-in-law to the direction of the spa.

It was yet another surprise for Andrea as she was being treated inside the spa. It was a complete treatment altogether from facial, body scrub, body mask, hair treatment and down to her toes. She was stuck there for nearly four hours of pampering that her stomach trembled out of hunger after she was done.

It was a must that they have dinner before going up to the room. At the restaurant, she saw a child run across the lobby from the outside. She immediately thought, 'Mei-Mei?'

Christina was praising Andrea for how beautiful she was after the pampering session when she noticed how she looked past her, directly at the lobby. She asked, "Anything wrong, Andy?"

Andrea dismissed it and smiled before responding, "Nothing, mom. I just thought I saw little Mei-Mei. I better call my sister when we get to our room."

Christina chuckled at her saying, "You must miss them so much or? You are imagining things because of hunger. Let's finish our meal so you can make that call."

When they made it to their room, Andrea's mouth fell open uncontrollably. They just entered the hotel's third most expensive suite. It was incredibly huge, with a separate living room.

Aside from Lu Wei's security team, there were other people in the suite. There were photographers, taking pictures from inside the bedroom and one other whom Andrea figured could be the designer or stylist.

"Mom? Did you really have to book this kind of room?"

"Why not? I'm rich and so is my client!" Christina's response was reasonable that Andrea merely shook her head and hope she could really help convince this said customer.

The first thing Andrea did was get her bag from Arti and call her sister, immediately asking their whereabouts.

"Andy, we are in Guangzhou. Where else would we be?" Li Wen answered.

"It's just that I could have sworn I saw Mei-Mei."

"Well, she is right here. You can talk to her." Andrea heard her sister call out to her niece and after having a quick chat with Xia Mei, they ended their conversation with goodnight greetings.

She noticed a dainty man looking at her and Christina hurriedly introduced her to him, "Andy, this is Shi Hu. My new business partner. He used to work for Prestige, but now we are coming up with a new brand for our very own fashion and event company."

Andrea felt the stylist was awfully too familiar, but she could not point a finger to it. She asked, "Have we met before?"

"Yes, we have, Mrs. Lu. In fact, I had styled you in two occasions already… I have heard about your unfortunate accident and I certainly hope that you will regain all your memories back."

She smiled at the stylist and thanked him for the concern. "I hope the same, but that doesn't matter now. I am happy regardless."

"Yes, definitely! And congratulations ahead!" The stylist greeted.

"Excuse me?" Andrea clarified.

"You are going to have an official wedding with Mr. Lu Fang. Right? I helped design your wedding dress - Ah, Yes - We are still making your wedding dress - It is almost done."

Andrea swore she noticed him changed expression while looking behind her. She immediately turned to see her mother-in-law, having her hand in the air.

"Oh, I thought I saw a fly. My mistake. Anyhow, Andy, yes It's true. Shi Hu is supervising the designer who is in charge of your wedding gown and soon, when it's ready, we will have you fit it," explained Christina.

Smiling at the thought of her own wedding dress, she thanked them both and just timely; she saw the photographers ask permission to leave but mentioned they would return after four hours.

"Andy, before the actual showcase. We'd like you to fit the wedding gown first so we can make any adjustments before we prepare early in the morning tomorrow," Christina said as she gestured her to come and look inside the room where the gown was placed.

She took her time to walk inside the bedroom and the moment she did, her eyes grew wide and her mouth hung open. The dress was a ballgown with a v-neck off-shoulder at the top. It was perfectly embroidered and sewn with white crystals as an accent.

She immediately exclaimed, "Wow! Wow! Cinderalla?" Turning to Christina and Shi Hu, she said, "Please tell me, my gown is way better than this! It has to be, right?"

The two individuals who stood behind her had mixed reactions, unsure whether a yes or no would be the most appropriate.
