Bonus Chapter: The Family in The UK

0It wasn't always fun for Andrea and Lu Fang. They went through the trouble of raising so many young over the years. While each of the Lu Children took care of their own, the grandparents naturally could not help but want o get involved.

Aside from their new career as babysitters, Andrea, for one, suffered a loss. Alfred passed away a year ago and while she prepared herself for it, missing her dad was utterly painful.

On Alfred's death anniversary, she decided to take a trip to the UK, inviting her siblings with her; Li Wen and Anton. This was because they had planned to visit their parent's grave, one they had not done at all.

Angela and Matteo also came, since they were off to visit Italy afterward. Alfred and Chevre's family stayed behind, busy with the business, and managing the children. Christina and Lu Wei also remained in Beijing. Considering their age, it was not best to travel the distance any longer.

In the UK, Gabriel remained to be the president of the Davies Group of Companies while Brie took the Vice President's seat.

Gabriel only had two children. Their first was a boy named Jensen. He was already in his mid-twenties and learning the ropes of the business. Jensen was shadowing Brie for the most part.

Jensen had a younger sister, two years apart, who had just graduated from college and was already set off to take masters. Her name was Hailey.

Lanying maintained her career in teaching mathematics and taking part in research at the university from time to time. Over the years, she proved to be deserving to be with Andrea's adoptive family. She had fully changed to a mature woman, with only her family as a priority in life.

While Tyler was a shareholder at Davies Group, he preferred to have a business of his own that he could manage. He still had it under the Davies Group where 30% of its shares belonging to the corporation.

Learning from Lu Fang, he created his own e-commerce site, which easily reached the topmost visited in the country in just two years of work. Still, he helped his wife managed the Davies' Group, especially the Transport Group in France.

Brie faced many obstacles getting to where she is at the Davies Group. It was because many conceived of taking the VP seat before her, that executives and corporate managers went against her at some point, creating plots to bring her down.

Unfortunately for them, Brie had Li Wen's brain and easily fought her battles like it was a game to enjoy.

When the Lu Family and the party arrived, the couple stayed at a hotel in the city with Anton and Li Wen. Angela and Matteo stayed with Brie and their manor, right next to a lavender field.

Together with Gabriel and his family, everyone went to Alfred's grave where a house was built around it. It was a two-story structure with enough marble seats and a marble table at the centermost. On the second floor was a bathroom and a resting area, which was fully air-conditioned.

Facing Alfred's grave, Andrea smiled at the memory of her adoptive father. She looked up to a portrait of him on the wall and said, "Hi dad, I missed you. I missed you so much."

Andrea was quickly teary-eyed. She was not around at the time of his death, the unfortunate passing being so unexpected. Alfred died of a cardiac arrest a day after his 86th birthday.

While she had visited the UK a few times in the past, it was still heartbreaking for her not to see him as he took his very last breath at the hospital.

"Uncle, we are sorry. Mom and dad could no longer travel with us, but they both are praying for your afterlife," said Lu Fang while looking down at his name on the tomb.

Andrea began to tell the stories about her children and her grandkids. She said, "Chevre's firstborn made superheroes of themselves, dad. I nearly had a heart attack."

"Aside from the regular heart-racing moments we have with Alfred's kids," added Lu Fang.

Looking at Angela who was sitting behind them with her husband and kids, she said to the tomb, "Dad, fortunately, Angela found good and reliable nannies for her boys."

"Uncle, while I have asked Gabriel's permission on this, I'd like to still ask you. I wanted to take two men from Davies's lair to look after Chevre's children. Jacob could not handle them," Lu Fang requested.

Jacob had been supervising the security of Chevre's children, but they proved to be more difficult to manage. They all were very high-spirited and adventures. Ivan and Irene escaped Jacob's watch at school, going to the convenience store nearby, and played superheroes when they heard a robbery was taking place.

Andrea and Lu Fang gave their fair share of scolding to the twins, Ivan and Irene. From that incident, they took the full management of the Lu Super Kids Club, just merely focusing on learning martial arts. The club had apparently existed for a year now, and not one of the parents knew.

"Dad, thank you for adopting me," said Andrea. She leaned closer to her husband and added, "If you had not, I don't know if my life would lead me to my husband and my family."

Lu Fang turned to Andrea and pecked on her forehead. He said, "I can assure you, babe. We would have met and fallen in love regardless of who we grew up with, but yes." Looking back at Alfred's grave, he added, "Thank you, uncle, for bringing our world's together."

While the couple was being sentimental in front of Alfred's tomb, Brie's youngest daughter came to their side and said, "Grandpa, where is granddaddy?"

Lu Fang carried Charlie and settled her on his lap. He said, "Baby, grandaddy is in heaven."

"When will he be back?" Charlie asked.

"No, sweetheart. When we go to heaven, we won't come back," explained Lu Fang.

"Is heaven far? Can I meet granddaddy in the gate of heaven?" Charlie sincerely asked. She called Alfred granddaddy instead of a great-grandpa. It was easier that way.

"I'm afraid it doesn't work that way, Bianca," said Alfred.

Charlie pouted her lips and said, "Grandpa?"

"Yes, sweetheart?" Lu Fang asked.

"My name is Charlie. My elder sister is Bianca and my older brother is James," said Charlie before giving the mine a wide grin.

He smiled back and said, "R-i-g-h-t."

When Charlie went back to her parent's sets, Lu Fang leaned over to Andrea and whispered, "We need to exchange the names on the gifts for Charlie and Bianca."

"Don't worry. I already made a mental note. I overheard your conversation," said Andrea, giving her husband a thumbs up. "We got this."
