Chapter 186: The Trouble Comes After...

Chapter 186: The Trouble Comes After...

0

As Cang Yue bowed respectfully before the fairies of the Frozen Cloud Asgard, she prepared to depart with Nezuko in tow. Xue Ling, however, found herself torn between her duty to escort the emperor back to the palace and her desire to spend time with Nezuko. In a moment of opportunity, she approached Cang Yue with a request.

0

"Master!" Yoruko, in her Nezuko form, exclaimed excitedly as she flew towards Yun Che and embraced him tightly, returning to their viewing zone. With Yuanba having excused himself to discuss strategy with his sect, they were finally free to express themselves openly.

"You little runt… *Sigh…" Yun Che sighed, feeling a mix of exasperation and affection as Yoruko once again drew all eyes towards her with her antics.

"Ehee… I beat that big annoying kitty! Did I do well?" Yoruko spoke happily, oblivious to the chaos she had caused. For her, the important thing was the fun they had together, regardless of the circumstances surrounding it.

"You did, Yoruko. You did. Ready to go back? Mizu and Kaze are waiting," Yun Che spoke, gently patting her head.

"Hnnnn....." Yoruko nodded gleefully, eager to reunite with her companions.

"Korra, you didn't hide her cultivation before you gave her away?" Kon sounded concerned as Yun Che was still cradling Yoruko.

"How was I supposed to know they were going to test her, and she just beat the living hell out of that panther?" Korra retorted. "Speaking of which, those Wu Clan really intend to cause trouble, and it took Yoruko to beat that thing to oblivion. Did you see how it moved? Even the Sky Profound Realm elders meant nothing to it."

"Those Wu Clan people… What are they?" Kon asked, his curiosity piqued.

"According to that old Wu Ya from before, they are a clan specializing in researching beast essence and converting it into human essence. It seems the disciples they sent here are merely prototype versions of those essences. Somehow, they awakened the full essence and hid traces of Retsu's former opponent. They really sacrificed him just to be beaten by Yoruko, or perhaps they didn't expect Yoruko would retaliate," Yun Che explained, recalling the rage of the Wu Clan representative upon witnessing Yoruko's prowess.

"Prototype?" Cang Yue wondered, her expression a mixture of surprise and concern.

"It means testing phase. The essence are meant to be tested, and it appears our Wu Clan members are guinea pigs for their new breakthrough," Yun Che explained, his voice tinged with concern. Observing Wu Fei's transformation during Retsu's battle, he noted that Wu Fei hadn't even needed the pills to access their powers; the strength seemed to originate from within their bodies. However, once Wu Fei transformed into that panther, he was effectively lost, devoid of any trace of his former self.

"They used pill versions to transform their users into hideous monsters with enhanced strength," Retsu added, her tone reflecting the gravity of the situation as she recalled her encounter with Wu Ya's grandson.

"Yes, the one I fought back in New Moon City was a minor version of it. An essence to transform them into beasts while maintaining sanity but with lower strength. Then, there was a version in the tomb, a full-strength version of it, but the user loses control for good," Yun Che elaborated, his expression reflecting the weight of their past encounters with the Wu Clan's experiments.

"Now, they managed to control the essences without using pills." Yun Che spoke sparking concerns among them and Yoruko squealed happily in his arms.

"Yun Che…." Cang Yue requested, clasping her hands together earnestly. "You won't mind if I borrow her again for tomorrow?"

"I thought we have an off day tomorrow. Did Chu Yueli ask for her?" Yun Che inquired, his curiosity piqued by Cang Yue's request.

"No, someone beat her to the punch. It was big sis Xue Ling. She actually wanted Nezuko for tomorrow," Cang Yue explained, her tone indicating surprise at Xue Ling's request.

"Why?" Yun Che probed further, sensing there was more to the story.

"I guess sister Yueli isn't the only one who wanted Nezuko as her child," Cang Yue replied cryptically, her thoughts wandering to Xue Ling's intentions. "No wonder she wanted to know what 'mother' means in Japanese."

"Ah… shit… Don't tell me…" Yun Che's expression turned grim as he began to piece together the situation.

"Yup, big sis likes your alternate form as well. Now, she and sister Yueli are fighting over who gets to be Nezuko's mother," Cang Yue dropped the bomb, revealing the source of the conflict.

"Why can't you accompany her tomorrow? As your own Nezuko form," Yun Che suggested, hoping to find a solution.

"I am training as well. Please~~~~…" Cang Yue pleaded, her puppy-dog eyes melting Yun Che's resolve as always. He sighed, knowing he couldn't refuse her when she looked at him like that. Puppy eyes might be the secret weapons his fiancées needed to gain his favor.

"Fine… I expect compensation for this. We have to be careful though, they might target Nezuko because of what she did just now," Yun Che warned, his concern evident as he considered the potential consequences of Yoruko's actions.

"I'll think of something, and don't worry, Yoruko can protect herself, and big sis will ensure she's protected," Cang Yue reassured him confidently, her determination shining through.

"I am much more worried about those who targeted Yoruko tomorrow. You haven't seen Yoruko using her own unique fighting style. She is the sword spirit of my small knife," Yun Che explained, causing Cang Yue to gasp in surprise. Yoruko's true strength had yet to be revealed, and Yun Che knew she was capable of much more than she had shown.

"Yoruko, looks like you have two mothers after all," Yun Che remarked, addressing the delighted spirit in his arms. "I might need you as Nezuko again tomorrow."

"Hai~~~~, am I going to go with mama again?" Yoruko asked eagerly, excited at the prospect of another adventure.

"No, you're going with 'Haha' (mother) this time. You can play with her tomorrow," Cang Yue replied with a smirk, causing raised eyebrows among her companions.

"Haha?" Yoruko questioned, puzzled by the unfamiliar term.

"That Onee-san beside Oji-chan," Cang Yue clarified, referring to Xue Ling.

"Ohhh…" Yoruko nodded in understanding, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "That 'Haha'… Hai~~~ Yoruko understands…"

"All right, you can go, you can take the gigai with you and get used to it," Yun Che instructed Yoruko before she returned to his inner world inside Nezuko's gigai.

After Yoruko departed, all of Yun Che's fiancées turned their attention to him with curious expressions. "What?" he asked innocently.

"Sister Yueli and Big sis Xue Ling are in love with you. Sis Yueli even admitted Nezuko is her child for you. So lucky…" Cang Yue teased with a mischievous grin.

"Hey, they are in love with Mihawk. Not me. Chu Yueli almost froze my ass and Xue Ling held me at sword point just because a certain someone can't stay in her room," Yun Che defended himself, recalling past incidents where his proximity to Cang Yue had caused misunderstandings.

"I needed that perk of yours," Cang Yue admitted sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head.

"Yuu-kun, sooner or later, they have to know the truth," Retsu spoke with a serious tone, emphasizing the importance of honesty in their relationships.

"I don't know myself how I am going to tell them. For now, Mihawk takes the blame, the love, and the fall. I am safe for now," Yun Che shrugged nonchalantly, preferring to avoid confrontation as long as possible.

"Mouu… how many more women are going to love Danna-sama…? Maybe we should protect Danna-sama from these women," Mio suggested, feeling overwhelmed by the attention Yun Che received from other women.

"Well, don't worry Mio-chan. Yuu-kun isn't the type who goes after every woman he sees. We all know where his heart belongs," Retsu reassured Mio, confident in Yun Che's loyalty.

"Don't worry, Mio-neesama," Nemu chimed in, offering her support to her sister.

Mio sighed and gave in to her hunger. "Speaking of this, I am really hungry."

"Mio-chan, we just finished all our bentos and you're still hungry," Retsu sweatdropped, amused by Mio's insatiable appetite.

"I can't help it," Mio admitted, hugging Yun Che's arm in a spoiled manner. "Ne, Danna-sama…. Please feed me.."

"Hmmm… Let's go to Mai and Mei's restaurant. I have two secret ingredients to show you girls. Ingredients that can be considered cheat ingredients," Yun Che suggested with a mischievous grin, eager to indulge his fiancées with a culinary surprise.

Yun Che blinked in surprise as he opened the flap of their seating zone tent, only to be greeted by a crowd of people waiting outside. Their eager expressions and hopeful gazes made it clear that they were seeking something from him.

"Umm… What's going on?" Yun Che asked, a hint of confusion coloring his voice.

Cang Yue peeked over his shoulder and gasped. "Oh my… it seems like we have some unexpected visitors."

"Contestant Yun, can we ask about the red flames? And the kicking fighting style?" pleaded a persistent martial enthusiast, their curiosity piqued by Yun Che's fiery display of power.

"Please, Lady Unohana, share with us the secrets of the parasol," urged another, their eyes alight with excitement at the prospect of unlocking the mysteries of Retsu's unique weapon.

"We want to know more about the Three-Sword Style!" called out a group of eager disciples, their voices rising above the clamor of the crowd as they sought insights into Cang Yue's formidable technique.

"Princess Cang Yue, would you consider becoming our elder?" implored another, their admiration for the princess evident in their tone as they extended the offer of mentorship.

"Lady Unohana, please tell us more about the parasol," echoed another, their persistence unwavering as they sought to unravel the secrets concealed within Retsu's enigmatic weapon.

"Yun Che, enlighten us about your kicks!" urged yet another, their enthusiasm undiminished by the lack of response as they pressed for answers.

"Is the heaven's child with you? Please, let us catch a glimpse of her," pleaded a chorus of voices, their eagerness palpable as they clamored for a glimpse of the legendary Nezuko.

Yun Che scanned the throng of eager onlookers outside their tent, his brow furrowing with concern. "*Sigh… looks like the outside is swarming with people wanting to know our secrets. Let's take an alternative path. Mio, dear. Mind opening a portal out of here?"

Mio's eyes sparkled with excitement at the prospect. "Ehee… as you wish, Danna-sama!" With a graceful wave of her hand, she summoned a shimmering portal from the Mirror Dimension, its edges rippling with otherworldly energy.

With a nod of gratitude to Mio, Yun Che gestured for the others to follow him. As they stepped through the portal, they left behind the clamor of the crowd, disappearing into the tranquility of the alternate dimension.

As they slipped away, a wave of disappointment washed over the crowd left behind, their eager curiosity thwarted by the elusive group's sudden disappearance. How did they manage to vanish without a trace? It was a mystery that only added to their allure.

Meanwhile, Mio had been contemplating opening a portal to the city when Yuanba approached them, his eyes bright with the prospect of joining them for dinner much to Mio's display about her idea of using a portal back to the city.

"Brother-in-law! Can I go with you?" he called out eagerly, hurrying to catch up to them.

Yun Che raised an eyebrow at his brother-in-law's sudden appearance. "You won't join your sect members?"

"No, I just want to come and join my brother-in-law and sister-in-laws for dinner," Yuanba replied, his enthusiasm clear. But then, sensing Yun Che's knowing grin, he stumbled over his words. "You sure? Or do you just want to see Mai?"

Yun Che chuckled, enjoying the chance to tease Yuanba. "Well, well, looks like someone's got a crush. Of course, you can come with us. Just don't forget to share some of that enthusiasm with Mai when we get there."

"Looks like the lackey's all grown up. Kon-sama is proud," Kon said, wiping away a faux tear as if he were a proud parent watching his child reach a milestone.

"Right, our little boy knows how to choose his woman," Yun Che agreed with a nod.

"Brot…. Bro… in law… I wouldn't…" Yuanba stuttered, flustered by their teasing.

"Sure, sure," Yun Che grinned, enjoying his brother-in-law's discomfort, while the others chuckled at the exchange.

As they bantered, they heard the sound of a crowd emerging from the arena, and before they knew it, the approaching throng was headed straight for them.

"There they are! Lord Yun, wait! Please grant us an audience!" the crowd called out as they rushed towards them.

"Danna-sama? I can knock them all out if you want to," Mio offered, her fan at the ready, her expression taking on its usual yandere intensity.

"I'll help Mio-chan out," Retsu chimed in, her smile sending shivers down the spines of those nearby, while Cang Yue and Nemu stepped aside, clearly amused by the commotion.

"No… let's just get out of here instead of dealing with them," Yun Che suggested calmly, glancing at the approaching martial enthusiasts. "Damn paparazzi… Let's run! I'm not signing any autographs."

With that, they all activated their Wings of First Flight and took off at high speed, soaring towards the Imperial City before the enthusiasts could catch up, eager to see if they could keep up with them using their Wings of First Flight.

"They can fly?!" The martial enthusiasts were shocked to see the black wings sprouting behind Yun Che's party.

"No, they used those weird wings behind them. Those are not real wings as they didn't even flap like real wings," one enthusiast observed, scrutinizing the wings closely. It was clear that the wings utilized profound energy, but not directly from the user. Such marvels of engineering allowed a person to fly without needing to be in the Sky Profound Realm. Who could have crafted them?

"Are those wings one of their inventions as well?" another enthusiast wondered aloud.

"Achieving flight without the need to reach the Sky Profound Realm. To be able to create marvelous inventions like those wings and the parasol. Who are these people?" the enthusiasts questioned among themselves, bewildered by Yun Che's party's abilities.

"We have to gain an audience with them. If we pay and offer them enough, they will share their secrets," one of them suggested optimistically.

"As if they would willingly share their secrets. Remember who is behind Princess Cang Yue, and she'll back her friends up if necessary," another warned, recognizing the power supporting Yun Che's party.

"We have to try…" one insisted, determined to obtain the Blue Wind Imperial Family's secrets, even if it meant pressing Yun Che's party by sweet talking or treasures.

"You want to face Imperial Protector Xue Ling, who is now a Throne powerhouse? Including the Heaven's Child mother, the Fairy of the Frozen Glass, Chu Yueli, and her older sister, the infamous Chu Yuechan?" another pointed out, causing the rest to fall silent. They knew better than to risk offending such powerful figures in their pursuit of knowledge.

------------------------------------

"It's kind of annoying actually… Do they think we would share our secrets just because we grant them an audience?" Cang Yue huffed in frustration.

"We should deal with them directly," Mio sighed, her expression betraying her annoyance. Retsu simply smiled, her demeanor calm but vigilant.

"No, Mio… we'll deal with them discreetly. We can just knock them out if they annoy us too much," Yun Che reassured her, patting her head mid-flight. Then, Nemu tugged on his sleeve, her eyes focused ahead.

"Yuu-sama… three figures are approaching us from the front. What should we do?" Nemu's voice held a note of concern as she detected three red dots on her System Radar. Mio and Retsu were also on high alert, recognizing the potential threat.

"*Sigh, let me handle this…." Yun Che led as they came to a halt before the three approaching figures.

All of them remained on guard as the three figures floated directly in front of them. The leading figure had a boorish appearance, with long hair, an older expression, and a pointed moustache. His eyes bore an arrogant glint as he wore a white robe with blue and purple linings, topped with a blue outer robe. The two men flanking him resembled him in appearance only younger and almost similar indicating they are siblings.

"Ahh, the infamous Yun Che, Unohana Retsu, and Princess Cang Yue, alongside the Blue Wind Profound Palace genius, Xia Yuanba. It is a pleasure to meet you," the leading figure spoke.

Upon seeing Yun Che, the middle-aged man swiftly approached with the speed of a comet, his steps confident. He addressed Yun Che directly: "I am Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress' current Fort Master, Mu Tianbei. At the risk of being presumptuous, I have an important matter to discuss with the honorable Young Master Yun, Young Mistress Unohana Retsu, and the Great Princess Cang Yue, which might extend to you as well, genius Xia Yuanba. Perhaps I should extend my talk to your two companions as well."

[Ding... Data retrieved]

[Name: Mu Tianbei]

[Age: 50+ years old]

[Level 70: Peak Sky Profound Realm]

[Occupation: Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress' current Fort Master]

[There was a naturally deep arrogance about him. After all, in the stretches of the frozen north, the Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress was indubitably the dominant power. As its Fort Master, it could be said that he could even cover the sky with one hand there, and no one could disobey him. Within the boundaries of the entire Blue Wind Empire, the reputation of the Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress was basically only second to that of the Four Major Sects.]

[Kind of a bit exaggerated if you asked the system.]

[PS: You remembered this guy, right? He attended the Moon Empress's Tomb Selection back then, escorting one of his elders but lost entirely. You can kick his ass if you want to, or do it later… your choice. No achievement or rewards. Just a plain old kick in the end.]

-------------------------------------

Yun Che couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at Mu Tianbei's audacity. The man seemed to possess an unwavering belief in his own superiority, regardless of the power arrayed against him. With a measured tone, Yun Che stepped forward to address the arrogant fort master.

"So, it is the reputable Fort Master Mu. What does Fort Master Mu have to discuss with us?" Yun Che's voice held a hint of skepticism, his eyes locked onto Mu Tianbei's.

Mu Tianbei met Yun Che's gaze head-on, his expression unyielding. "It is very simple," he began, his tone dripping with arrogance. "I have witnessed you, Lady Unohana's, and Princess Cang Yue's performances in the ranking tournament. Your talent and strength are undeniable, even among the disciples of the Four Major Sects. You have proven yourselves capable, defeating even the top disciples of those sects. Even Xia Yuanba is equally impressive."

He paused, his gaze lingering on Yun Che. "To remain within the confines of the Blue Wind Profound Palace and the Blue Wind Imperial Family is akin to burying a pearl. How about joining my Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress? Bring the Heaven's Child with you as well. I am sure her mother would be pleased to let her join us."

Yun Che's expression remained impassive, though inwardly he seethed at the audacity of the man before him. Joining another faction was out of the question, especially one as arrogant and presumptuous as the Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress. But he knew better than to show his hand too quickly.

Mu Tianbei's ego was truly larger than life, his arrogance palpable in every word he spoke. He seemed to believe that Yun Che, Retsu, and Cang Yue would simply abandon their current affiliations and flock to his fortress at his beck and call. The audacity of the man was astounding, especially considering his past grievances with Princess Cang Yue's master. But Mu Tianbei was convinced that he could manipulate the situation to his advantage, believing that he held all the cards.

Yun Che couldn't help but roll his eyes at the man's hubris, muttering under his breath in English for the benefit of those around him who understood his language. "Get a load of this guy…"

Crossing his arms, Yun Che addressed Mu Tianbei with a smirk. "No thanks. I couldn't care less about your opinion of me. Let me be blunt on behalf of all of us. I'm not the type to join some sect, and I'm loyal to my fiancées and their families. They follow me, and Yuanba follows his master. I am part of the Blue Wind Imperial Family, and Yuanba is a disciple of the Blue Wind Profound Palace. We're not about to bow to some sect that thinks it's better than the rest."

Mu Tianbei's expression shifted from smug confidence to barely concealed rage. "Young Master Yun, it's admirable that you're so steadfast in your convictions. But before you make any rash decisions, perhaps you should think it through..."

Yun Che's grin widened, undeterred by Mu Tianbei's veiled threats. "Believe me, I've thought it through plenty. And my answer remains the same."

"Listen here," Yun Che began, his tone dripping with disdain. "We outright reject your offer. Before even thinking of asking us, have you considered the wrath of Cang Yue's master? The formidable Chu sisters? Or her sworn elder sister, Xue Ling? Your Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress is not even worth a second thought. With a Fort Master who knows nothing of respect and can't even comprehend basic human decency, even if your sect had more power than the heavens themselves, it would still be nothing more than a third-rate establishment full of hot air. It's laughable, really."

Yun Che's words cut through the air like a knife, his insults biting and merciless. There was no remorse in his tone, no hesitation in his demeanor. He had read about Mu Tianbei's personality in the system, and there was no need to hold back anymore. "Need a simpler version to understand? Your sect is a bunch of spoiled, annoying brats led by a crackpot old fool who thinks he's the pinnacle of existence."

Yuanba shifted uncomfortably, feeling the tension in the air. Cang Yue, Retsu, Mio, and Nemu, on the other hand, chuckled at Yun Che's boldness. This man was not even as powerful as Wrath, yet he dared to try and recruit them into his sect.

With Yun Che's words hanging in the air, the atmosphere instantly froze, the weight of his insults reverberating between them.

-------------------------

Xia Yuanba was utterly shocked by Yun Che's audacity. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that Yun Che would dare to speak out so boldly against Mu Tianbei, a figure renowned throughout the country below the four great sects. As for Cang Yue, her surprise was more subdued. She knew Yun Che well enough to understand that he would never cower in the face of anyone, no matter their status. If he could effortlessly face Wrath, who surpassed the Sovereign Profound Realm, then Mu Tianbei was hardly a threat in his eyes.

"You take that back!" One of the siblings, Mu Xiongyan shouted while drawing his weapon next to Mu Tianbei.

"You dare insult our sect?! You people may defeat the top disciples but doesn't mean anything in our eyes!" Mu Xiongyi shouted.

"A senile old fool and his delusional disciples indeed," Retsu remarked, shooting a direct jab at Mu Tianbei. "To think he can just waltz in here and insult Little Yue's family, expecting us to fall in line like obedient fools."

"You tell 'em, Ret-chan, Danna-sama!" Mio chimed in, fanning herself with an air of superiority.

"Nee-sama, that's a bit rude," Nemu interjected, though her eyes sparkled with excitement. "But do it again!"

Cang Yue, with a hint of sarcasm in her tone, commented, "I never knew Sect Master Mu Tianbei was this generous. One might wonder if he's either brave or simply senile due to his age. Perhaps I should have refrained from participating in this tournament."

"He won't even spare a glance," Yun Che added dismissively. "He's the type who disregards even the royal family, believing himself to be above everyone just because he's beneath the Four Great Sects."

Kon couldn't help but interject, "That's all it takes for him to hold his head that high?" Meanwhile, Xia Yuanba remained in a state of shock, his mind reeling with questions. How strong was his brother-in-law now? Was he still the same level as the last time they met, or had he grown even more powerful than anyone could have imagined?

Mu Tianbei had expected a rejection, but he never imagined Yun Che would have the audacity to speak with such insolence and bring such humiliation to his words. And to add insult to injury, even Princess Cang Yue herself openly insulted him. The mere thought of it made his brows crease and his complexion darken. "Young Master Yun, did I hear you correctly?" he demanded, his voice tinged with suppressed fury. "It seems as if I did not hear that correctly…"

Yun Che met Mu Tianbei's oppressive gaze with a smile on his face, unflinching in the face of the older man's anger. "You heard me correctly, senile old man," he retorted boldly. "I said, with a senile Fort Master who doesn't even know what respect is, leading a sect full of hot air, it is better for us to not go." He took his time to repeat his words, savoring the moment. "I'm sure you heard me correctly. Or do you want me to speak more clearly?"

Mu Tianbei's fury reached its peak, his facial muscles convulsing with rage. Never before had he been openly mocked in such a manner, especially not by a mere junior. He spoke in a low voice, his gaze ferocious. "Good… Very good…"

Yun Che remained calm, unfazed by Mu Tianbei's anger. "Yes, we did good," he replied calmly. "The feeling is mutual. You look down on my brother's Blue Wind Profound Palace and my Cang Yue's Blue Wind Imperial Family, forgetting that we value loyalty and devotion above all else. Our loyalty lies with Cang Yue, and Yuanba's loyalty lies with his palace. I hold your Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress in contempt if you force disciples to betray their sects for your own interests."

"Do you think you can drag us like cattle and expect us to follow your silly commands?" Cang Yue's voice dripped with contempt. "You even had the audacity to ask us to bring Nezuko-chan along, just because I knew her mother? You must be out of your mind. You didn't even ask us; you told us. The audacity to try to pull me, Yun Che, Sister Retsu, and Junior Brother Yuanba as if you owned this country."

"This just makes things even," Cang Yue continued, her tone firm. "If Fort Master Mu has nothing else to discuss, you may go back now and let us proceed to the Blue Wind Imperial City for dinner. The matter of us joining Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress? You can take it and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. In my eyes, Blue Wind Profound Palace is ten million times better than Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress, and you can't tempt our loyalties to our Cang Yue. Even if the entire sect, including you, kneeled in front of me, I would still never agree to your offer." Yun Che's voice was calm but carried an underlying tension, and he made it clear that he wouldn't be swayed by Mu Tianbei's attempts to manipulate them. He almost wished the old man understood the gravity of the situation and who he had dared to cross.

"What good little arrogant juniors. You truly have opened my eyes! I had originally taken pity on all of you because of your talent and was thinking of asking Yan'er here to go easy on you in round 2 should he met you. But it looks like you do not care about your life at all!!" Mu Tianbei's anger has reached its peak and he began drawing his sword. Even his elders drew their own swords as well. They intended to not let them go, either they joined their sect or died.

As Mu Tianbei's true intentions were unveiled, the atmosphere grew tense with hostility. However, Yun Che and his companions remained surprisingly composed, their confidence unwavering in the face of the Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress's threats.

"Bastard!" Mu Xiongyan who was standing next to Mu Tianbei shouted. "Fight me right now if you dare!"

Mu Xiongyan's aggressive challenge only added fuel to the simmering tension. His outburst echoed in the air, met with a steely resolve from Yun Che and his companions.

Yun Che's tone remained steady, tinged with a hint of mockery. "You think an eighth-level Spirit Profound Realm poses a threat to us? We've faced far greater adversaries and come out on top. Your threats are nothing but empty bluster."

Yun Che's voice dripped with disdain as he addressed Mu Tianbei's audacious proposal. "So, this is your plan? Coerce us into submission and resort to threats when we refuse? And as for your son over there," he gestured towards Mu Xiongyan, "if you're itching for a fight, I'll be happy to oblige. Though, expected a full withdrawal two days from now."

Mu Tianbei's grip tightened on Mu Xiongyan's arm, restraining him from acting rashly. Despite the hostility emanating from his disciples, Mu Tianbei maintained a facade of calm authority. "Yes, I had intended to compel your compliance and secure the Heaven's Child by any means necessary."

Yun Che shook his head in disbelief, while Cang Yue's incredulous expression mirrored his sentiments. "Are you truly so foolish as to believe you can defy the powers standing behind Princess Cang Yue without consequence? Do you dare challenge her sworn sister, the Chu sisters, or her esteemed master?"

Kon interjected with a remark that echoed their disbelief. "This guy must be out of his mind or missing a few screws in that head of his."

Yun Che's voice cut through the tension like a knife, his words dripping with disdain. "Do you even comprehend the power standing behind Princess Cang Yue? Are you so blind to fear her sworn sister, the Chu sisters, or her master?"

Mu Tianbei's response was as chilling as the breeze in the forest. With a twisted smile, he acknowledged the overwhelming power of Yun Che's allies but dismissed it with a wave of his hand. "They may be formidable, but if they're unaware of your demise, who will suspect me of your deaths?"

The threat hung heavy in the air as Mu Tianbei summoned his Thunderfire powers, a display of his readiness for violence. "Hand over your treasures," he demanded, his tone a chilling promise of the consequences if they refused.

Undeterred by the threats, Yun Che challenged Mu Tianbei's audacity, his arms crossed defiantly. "You may think yourself above the consequences, but you really underestimate us. Our loyalty and honor are not for sale so no treasures."

Mu Tianbei's expression darkened, his Thunderfire powers crackling ominously. "You dare defy me? Then prepare to face the consequences. Your bodies will serve as a warning to all who dare cross the Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress."

The confrontation escalated, tensions reaching a boiling point as Yun Che and his companions stood firm in the face of adversity.

Yun Che's response to Mu Tianbei's threats was marked by a mixture of amusement and disbelief. "Brother-in-law… what are we…." Yuanba's worried tone pierced through the tense atmosphere.

Kon's calm demeanor contrasted sharply with the escalating situation. "Wow… this guy really does think highly of himself. Perks for being ignorant."

Yun Che's nonchalant demeanor spoke volumes about his confidence. "Can't blame him. After facing Wrath, every opponent feels like fighting mere chumps. Now, we might use our powers for fun or for the sake of using them instead of situations."

As Mio lazily fanned herself, her hunger was the only thing she seemed concerned about. "Danna-sama… I am hungry."

Yun Che reassured her with a promise of food after dealing with their current predicament. "Just a few moments, Mio. I'll deal with this crackpot old fool and his minions first, then we can visit Mai and Mei for dinner."

Cang Yue contemplated the situation, noting the irony of their adversaries' arrogance. "But, if we take them down now, they won't join the second round. I started to pity them."

Yun Che's grin hinted at mischief as he revealed his plans. "Oh, I have plans for them. Something funny."

Mu Tianbei's fury intensified as he threatened them with violence. But Yun Che remained unfazed, urging him to reconsider. "Hey man, I really appreciate it if you bring your boys out of here before we start an illegal rumble."

Mu Xiongyi and Mu Xiongyan exchanged words, underestimating Yun Che's resolve. "Look at him, Yan'er. Thinking he could outdo the sect master."

"He is stupid indeed. Father, spare those beauties before we kill them. Let us enjoy their creamy..." Before Mu Xiongyi could utter another word, a sudden flurry of motion ensnared all three men. Retsu's Six Rods Prison of Light materialized around them, a silent yet potent spell weaving its magic and locking them in place with three layers of binding energy. Simultaneously, Nemu's Locking Bondage Stripes shot forth, entwining the captives with two additional sets of binding spells, rendering them completely immobilized.

"What is this!? Release us!" Mu Tianbei's voice reverberated with anger and disbelief, but the spells held fast, rendering them helpless.

Amidst their futile attempts to break free, Mu Tianbei's realization struck like a thunderbolt. "What is this… art?!" His mind grappled with the concept of such potent binding spells, unable to comprehend how they had fallen prey to such a simple yet effective technique.

Yun Che's exasperated sigh punctuated the scene, his incredulity evident as he addressed the trapped men. "Really man? … Just really? You're trying to kill us and now you can't move because of a simple binding spell."

Mu Tianbei's demands for release fell on deaf ears as Retsu and Nemu exchanged a knowing glance. Retsu's smile was filled with pride as she commended Nemu's progress. "Ufuuu… Nemu-chan, looks like your spell casting is improving."

With a modest smile, Nemu acknowledged her sister's praise. "I had some practice, Nee-sama."

Retsu playfully corrected her, emphasizing their bond. "It's Nee-chan!"

"Really though… What were you thinking? Oh, they're just a bunch of weaklings that can easily be forced and cornered. They're already trapped around me. Well, here's where you're wrong, you senile old fool. You're not trapped us with you. You're trapped here with us." Yun Che grinned, his confidence radiating as he stood before Mu Tianbei.

Despite Mu Tianbei's attempts to break free using his Thunderfire, the bindings held firm, much to his shock and disbelief. "This… who… who the hell are you people?!" he exclaimed, his voice tinged with desperation.

Ignoring his outburst, Yun Che turned his attention to the Mu siblings, Mu Xiongyi and Mu Xiongyan. "So, you think you can defeat us?" he challenged, his tone laced with amusement.

The Mu siblings remained silent, realizing the futility of resistance as they sat helplessly bound by the powerful spells.

"You know, we had our fun today at today's tournament, so we need a day off. You two can fight someone else in our stead. If you two think that you can outshine an ordinary True Profound Realm warrior, be my guest. If you two win, we'll let you and that senile old fool go," Yun Che declared, gesturing for Retsu and Nemu to release the Mu siblings, who landed on the grassy plains below.

"So, who is going to be their opponent?" Retsu inquired, prompting Yun Che to point to Nemu with a knowing grin.

"Nemu-chan? Is it okay?" Retsu spoke with a worried tone, concern evident in her eyes.

"Well, our strength already surpasses normal circumstances. I don't need to mention Mio's," Yun Che replied confidently, earning a pout from Mio, whose strength was formidable, to say the least.

"Pff… Asking these guys to go against her is like asking for a beatdown," Mio chimed in, her cheeks puffing out in annoyance since she can't fight due to her being over-leveled.

"Besides, Nemu needs real combat experience, and this might be her chance rather than fighting bots all the time. Moreover, she's at the Peak True Profound Realm, so she can easily match these guys," Yun Che reasoned, turning his attention to Nemu. Despite being dressed as a Miko priestess, Yun Che was sure Nemu could adapt the flow of battle easily.

"So, Nemu… up for a little fight?" he asked with a grin.

"Hai, Yuu-sama. But I haven't awakened my Zanpakuto yet," Nemu admitted, expressing her current situation.

"Pff… As if you needed Zanpakuto against these chumps. You have your Kido and special abilities. Test them out," Yun Che reassured her with a pat on her head.

Nemu nodded in determination, but Retsu looked at her with a mix of worry and pride. Though she didn't mind in the training room, this was the real world, and the stakes were higher. Nevertheless, she trusted Yun Che's judgment, knowing he wouldn't put Nemu in harm's way recklessly. With a worried expression, Retsu spoke, "Be careful, Nemu-chan…"

"Hai! Nee-sama!" Nemu responded with determination as she floated towards them, her resolve unwavering. Meanwhile, both Mu Xiongyi and Mu Xiongyan remained on high alert, realizing they shouldn't underestimate this oddly dressed woman with formidable Peak True Profound Realm strength.

Cang Yue and Yuanba watched from a distance, alongside Mio, Retsu, and Yun Che. They observed Nemu facing off against the elites of the Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress. For Nemu, this wasn't just another training exercise against mobs; it was a real-world test of her combat skills. Despite her stoic expression, there was an underlying excitement as she saw this as her chance to prove her strength to her sister.

"Yuu-sama, anything I should know about them?" Nemu asked Yun Che through their mental link.

Yun Che took a moment to respond, his gaze fixed on the unfolding battle. "Other than being the crackpot's sons, here's the gist: the Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress consists of two formidable factions—the Heavenly Spear Sect and the Thunderfire Sect. The Thunderfire Sect is infamous for its mastery of transforming profound energy into thunderfire, a lethal combination that packs a devastating punch. But that's not all—they're also skilled in crafting high-grade firearms and using them expertly."

Nemu nodded, absorbing the information. "So, I should be cautious of their Thunderfire firearms?"

"Exactly. They're armed with all sorts of concealed weapons, so stay vigilant. Trust your Haki instincts and rely on your abilities. Use your wings to manoeuvre and evade, especially since this isn't a tournament. If they play dirty, don't hesitate to fight back. Adapt to the situation and fight on your terms," Yun Che advised, his voice steady and reassuring.

Nemu nodded in understanding as she prepared to engage in combat with two Eight-Level Spirit Profound Realm siblings. This was her first real fight since being reincarnated in this new world, and the anticipation surged within her. Facing off against the Xiao Wuyi bot countless times was nothing compared to the intensity of a real battle.

Mu Xiongyi gripped his spear tightly, while Mu Xiongyan unleashed his attack first. He raised both hands, spreading open all ten fingers, and conjured ten purplish-red lightning balls atop his fingertips. The crackling discharge of energy would instil fear in anyone who heard it. With a ferocious smile, Mu Xiongyan directed his threat at Nemu, determined to make her pay for her companions underestimating him.

"Yun Che! I'll let you see the death of this little beauty! Remember the price of insulting my Heavenly Spear Thunderfire Fortress for your entire lifetime!!" Mu Xiongyan's voice echoed with malice as he unleashed his attack.

The ten Thunderfire balls of condensed profound energy flew at Nemu from different angles. Instead of dodging or fleeing, Nemu advanced forward, facing the onslaught head-on. Mu Xiongyan sneered, confident that his attack would obliterate her.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Ten Thunderfire balls simultaneously exploded, their devastating radiance momentarily drowning out Nemu's silhouette. However, to Mu Xiongyan's astonishment, Nemu emerged from the explosive zone unscathed, calmly patting her shoulders as if brushing off dust.

"What in the….." The Mu siblings and their father widened their eyes in disbelief. The explosions were powerful enough to severely injure Peak Spirit Profound Realm fighters, yet Nemu had emerged from them without a scratch.

"Sugoi! Nemu-chan!" Retsu proudly squealed, her voice echoing admiration and pride. The rest of their group joined in with shouts of amazement, while Yuanba's eyes widened in surprise.

"How?! Those orbs are enough to kill her!" Mu Tianbei's voice rang out with disbelief.

Yun Che nodded, impressed by Nemu's resilience. If he were in her shoes facing Mu Xiongyan's attack in the tournament, he would have likely taken the same approach and tanked the damage instead of attempting to deflect or avoid it. "Wow… System, what is Nemu's level?" He turned to the System for answers, curious about Nemu's capabilities.

------------------

[Ding… Level 30, Peak True Profound Realm.]

-----------------

Yun Che nodded, impressed by Nemu's ability to withstand the Thunderfire orbs with ease. "What is her Body Level?"

-----------------

[Ding... Level 55: Fifth Level Earth Profound Realm. She boosted her current body level to level 60 to tank the damage.]

--------------------

"What in the…" Yun Che's eyes widened in astonishment as he processed the information. Nemu had elevated her body level to an impressive level, far beyond what he had anticipated.

-------------------

[Ding… she had several practices with the training dummies and increased her body level there. She can't gain experience from killing bots, but she can gain body experience from them.]

------------------

Nemu swiftly reverted her attributes to their normal levels after boosting her Defense to withstand the Thunderfire bomb's explosion. Surprisingly, the damage felt more like harmless fireworks against her enhanced body and reinforced attire. With a seamless transition, she redirected the five levels into Agility, enhancing her speed to an astounding degree. As she engaged in a series of flash steps, leaving transient afterimages in her wake, the Mu siblings watched in awe, their senses heightened by Nemu's lightning-fast movements.

"Is that an afterimage!?" Mu Xiongyan exclaimed, his disbelief mirrored by his sibling. Nemu, too, marveled at the profound impact her attributes had on her abilities. The exhilarating rush of her Health Regeneration and body level, combined with her newfound agility, imbued her with a sense of invincibility. She couldn't help but imagine the staggering potential of pushing her attributes to their limits, envisioning a realm of power beyond her current comprehension.

In that moment of reflection, Nemu realized the true extent of her capabilities and the limitless possibilities that lay before her. With each level of attributes representing a gateway to untapped strength, she understood that her journey was just beginning, and the path to mastery was paved with boundless potential.

In the blink of an eye, Mu Xiongyan detected a fleeting shadow in his peripheral vision, and before he could react, Nemu materialized at his side, mere steps away. It was a maneuver that would have left most opponents disoriented, but Mu Xiongyan met it with a grim laugh. Without hesitation, he channeled his profound energy, conjuring three purplish-red arrows that streaked toward Nemu with lethal intent.

Cang Yue's anxiety surged as she witnessed the impending danger, her heart racing at the sight of the Thunderfire arrows hurtling toward Nemu's veiled face. The proximity of the attack and the unexpectedness of its trajectory sent a shiver down her spine. Yet, even in the face of imminent peril, Nemu remained composed.

With a calculated grace, Nemu evaded the arrows with a fluid movement, tilting her head to the side with precision timing. The Thunderfire arrows whizzed past her, grazing her cheek with searing heat but failing to make contact with their intended target.

It was another flash step!

Amidst the lingering radiance of the Thunderfire balls, the three arrows continued their trajectory toward Nemu, their deadly intent unabated. But against all odds, Nemu just uses flash steps to avoid the attacks.

Mu Xiongyan immediately opened his eyes wide. Before he had yet to recover from his astonishment, an incomparably hot heatwave attacked from overhead…

"(Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!)"

Generating high-temperature flames, Nemu discharges it from both hands. Nemu generates and fires an orb of crimson-red energy on her palms.

"Hadō #31 - Shakkahō!!! (Way of Destruction #31, Red Flame Cannon)

Boom!!

Like a fierce hawk, Nemu descended from the sky on her wings, launching a relentless assault on Mu Xiongyan's back with a scorching red berserk strike. A massive burst of red flame erupted with a deafening roar, causing Mu Xiongyan to cry out in pain. Seizing the opportunity, Mu Xiongyi attempted to retaliate against Nemu, but she swiftly countered with another powerful Kido spell, halting his advance with precision and finesse.

"Bakudo #21 – Sekienton!! (Way of Binding #21 – Red Smoke Escape)"

With swift precision, Nemu unleashed a Sekienton red smoke attack, shrouding her movements in a veil of crimson mist. Concealed within the swirling red fog, she darted forward like a shadow, her form obscured from view. As the smoke billowed around her, she closed the distance between herself and Mu Xiongyi, preparing to strike with a surprise attack.

Suddenly, the ground erupted as Nemu burst forth, her fist connecting with unyielding force beneath Mu Xiongyan's chin, launching him skyward. Swiftly closing the distance, Nemu intercepted him mid-air, delivering a crushing blow that sent him hurtling back to the earth with a resounding thud.

Witnessing Nemu's strategic use of smoke to obscure her movements and her swift underground assault, her companions marveled at her ingenuity and adaptability.

"Sugoi! She used smoke attacks to distract her opponent and went underground." Mio remarked as she waved her fan.

"Using those hand drills of hers, she easily dug and went under him and launched a solid attack under his chin. She's smart and resourceful." Retsu commented on her little sister's ability to adapt to her surroundings.

Mu Tianbei struggled to comprehend how this girl, with her peak True Profound Realm cultivation, had effortlessly bested his son with such underhanded tactics.

With Mu Xiongyi incapacitated, Nemu redirected her focus to Mu Xiongyan, cracking her knuckles in anticipation. The dirtiness of the ground did not faze her, her Miko outfit shielded by the protective coating of Haki.

This battle marked Nemu's first real test, where she seamlessly integrated her boosted attributes, Kido, and Haki. Previously confined to training simulations and brief encounters, she now faced a true adversary, ready to unleash her full potential.

"You bitch!!! How dare you defeat my brother!!?!" Enraged by his brother's defeat, Mu Xiongyan unleashed a barrage of arrows towards Nemu, his fury fueling his attack. Unperturbed, Nemu swiftly enhanced her agility and prepared to counter with another devastating Kido blast, her determination unwavering in the face of adversity.

"Hadō #32. Ōkasen ("Golden Flash")"

With a focused expression, Nemu summoned forth a pulsating yellow orb, its brilliance growing as it expanded to encompass Mu Xiongyan. Charging it to its fullest potential, she unleashed a devastating wave of energy, engulfing her target in a blaze of searing light.

Within the fiery inferno, Mu Xiongyan's protective barrier shattered like fragile glass against the onslaught of Nemu's intensified Kido. A geyser of blood erupted from his mouth as he was propelled backwards with immense force. Seizing the opportunity, Nemu swiftly shifted her attributes, enhancing her agility to dart behind him and deliver a powerful kick to his exposed back.

The golden flames from Nemu's previous attack continued to engulf Mu Xiongyan, raging voraciously and igniting the hidden firearms scattered across his body. Each explosion tore through his flesh, rendering him unrecognizable amidst the carnage. His agonized screams pierced the air, echoing like the mournful cry of a tortured soul. With graceful movements, Nemu spread her wings and soared clear of the detonations, her expression unwavering.

"Yan'er!!" Mu Tianbei's complexion drained of color, his panic evident as he watched his son's suffering. In a display of mercy, Yun Che intervened, casting a healing Kido to extinguish the flames and mend Mu Xiongyan's ravaged body. Though Yun Che could have delivered a similar fate, this time it was Nemu who emerged victorious, proving her prowess in combat.

Enraged beyond measure, Mu Tianbei's cries reverberated through the clearing as he struggled against the binding spells that held him captive, his attempts futile against their unyielding grip.

Mu Xiongyan's tragic state unfolded before Mu Tianbei's eyes like a nightmare come to life. Charred black, his body bore the scars of the explosion, blood splattering in every direction. Flesh torn apart, bones exposed, and half of his hair gone, his appearance was beyond description. 'Tragic' felt like an understatement.

Yun Che's swift emergency healing restored some semblance of functionality to Mu Xiongyan's body, but the scars would remain for a long time. Despite Yun Che's efforts to close wounds and remove charred flesh, the damage was severe. The weapons Mu Xiongyan wielded had turned against him, leading to his near demise. It was doubtful that he would be fit to participate in the tournament in two days.

Although the self-destructing firearms hadn't caused extensive damage due to their ignition by flames rather than profound energy, Mu Xiongyan's external injuries were severe. Internally, he was luckier, with injuries lighter than expected. Yet, the road to recovery would be long, marred by ugly scars that would haunt him.

Glaring at Yun Che's party with unbridled hatred, Mu Tianbei's killing intent pierced the air like an icy wind. His gaze fixated on Yun Che, promising retribution for his son's defeat. But despite his threats, none of Yun Che's companions showed a hint of concern.

"I am going to kill all of you!!" Mu Tianbei's roar echoed through the clearing, but it fell on deaf ears.

"Oh, shut up… you're the one who wanted to kill us in the first place, and we just paid you back tenfold. I'm sure you'll cause trouble again, but maybe you can humiliate yourself later. In the meantime…" Yun Che's hand landed on Mu Tianbei's shoulder, a sardonic grin playing on his lips.

"Bastard!!" Mu Tianbei's shout echoed through the clearing before Yun Che activated his Sharingan, ensnaring Mu Tianbei in his illusion. With a smirk, Yun Che implanted a command in his mind before Retsu removed the spells that bound him before he swiftly disappeared with both of his sons without any word.

"You're letting him go?" Cang Yue floated towards Yun Che, her expression a mix of surprise and confusion. Yuanba, still grappling with the revelation of Nemu's strength, couldn't believe his eyes. He had witnessed Nemu defeat two eighth-level Spirit Profound Realm opponents, a feat that defied all expectations.

"Yue-nee-san is right, teme! Why did you let that chunk of meat go?" Kon's voice rang out, echoing the disbelief shared by the others. It seemed incomprehensible to them that Yun Che would allow Mu Tianbei to escape unscathed.

"His sons were defeated by Nemu. That's humiliation enough for now. And as for him causing trouble later, well, let him try. He can't confront us in public, but he might stir up trouble in places where public eyes are absent. Like the Heaven Basin Secret Realm. I can deal with him there. For now, let's just play along," Yun Che explained, his tone confident and resolute as he floated towards Nemu, ready to embrace her after her impressive display of strength.

"By the way, Nemu. You really improved. Good job for defeating those two. I am proud of you," Yun Che praised, his hand gently patting her head.

"Thank you, Yuu-sama. I practised a lot," Nemu replied, her cheeks flushed with a mix of pride and humility. She couldn't help but marvel at her own progress, mastering Kido spells above number thirty with ease. Each victory felt like a testament to her dedication and growth, especially when facing opponents of higher levels.

"My flock little sister has become quite the warrior. Mio is bursting with pride," Mio chimed in, her eyes glistening with tears of joy.

"Muu, I'm the proudest of her. She's mastered spells above level thirty. It seems I don't need to worry about Nemu-chan anymore. She's all grown up," Retsu added, her voice filled with emotion as she embraced Nemu tightly. The realization that her sister could now stand on her own filled her with both relief and pride.

"Nee-sama… Don't worry, no matter how strong I've become. I'll always be your baby sister," Nemu reassured, returning the embrace with equal affection.

"Wow, sister-in-law. You are really good. You would come out on top easily if you entered the tournament," Yuanba remarked, still trying to process the intensity of Nemu's newfound strength. He wasn't sure if he could defeat Nemu if he fought her directly. She is smart and fast and has planned her moves correctly.

"Now, I am not sure if I could defeat Nemu as well." Cang Yue spoke as she too was impressed seeing Nemu's fighting style. It was like fighting Retsu directly only Nemu was more quick thinking and dispatched her opponents effectively while Retsu would toy with her opponent just for fun.

"Well, all's well that ends well," Yun Che concluded, a sense of contentment in his voice as he continued to pat Nemu's head. He couldn't help but feel a swell of pride at her achievement, knowing that she was slowly but surely reclaiming her former combat prowess.

"Yuu-kun, shall we go? Mio-chan's all hungry now. I wanted to cook something special for Nemu for her first victory," Retsu suggested, and Mio's stomach growled in agreement.

"Oh yeah… shall we go to Mai and Mei's restaurant? Retsu can be the main chef for tonight's dinner." Yun Che proposed, eliciting nods of approval from the group. With their adventure for the day coming to a close, they set off towards the Imperial City, their hearts light and spirits high after a day filled with excitement and triumph.
