Chapter 177: The Two Familiar Sisters

Chapter 177: The Two Familiar Sisters

Using the Wings of First Flight, Yun Che and his companions, including Xia Yuanba, arrived at the eastern gate of the Imperial City in less than half an hour. They were all thoroughly impressed with the wings and showered Nemu with praises for her ingenuity. As they touched down in the Imperial City, their wings seamlessly transformed back into the crest-shaped emblem behind their backs, a clever upgrade devised by Nemu to store the wings without arousing suspicion.

"Haaa… finally here…" Kon let out a sigh of relief as he leaned on Yun Che's shoulder.

"Says someone who suddenly hid in my robe," Yun Che quipped, amused by Kon's antics.

"Teme… those scary ladies of yours really scare the living hell out of me," Kon admitted, recalling the tense moments between Xia Qingyue, Retsu, and Mio.

"Haa… sorry about that," Yun Che sighed, knowing well the jealous tendencies of his fiancées could be quite intense.

"Why are they jealous of that cookie? I mean, they're really pretty like Nee-san," Kon pondered aloud.

"Dude, really? That 'cookie' is my wife. They're my fiancées. Moreover, they value the title of first wife. It means a lot to them," Yun Che explained before nudging Kon. "What about you? You'd jump to their breasts before you could even talk."

"Korra, you think I'm a pervert or something?!" Kon fired back, feigning offense.

"Kind of…" Yun Che rolled his eyes in mock exasperation.

"Ore-sama developed an immunity towards pretty ladies. Nee-san was around all the time, those spirit of yours. Retsu-neesan. Mio-neesan. That Nemu girl and Yue-neesan. Looking at those babes feels a little normal," Kon remarked, attempting to justify his nonchalance towards attractive women, much to Yun Che's amusement.

"Looks like everyone had the same idea," Yun Che sighed as he surveyed the bustling streets filled with sect members enjoying their dinners. The city was brimming with people who had come for the tournament, and most establishments were packed to the brim.

"Ugh… every restaurant is kind of full," Retsu lamented, frustration evident in her voice as they continued their search for a place to dine.

"Even the inns," added Cang Yue, echoing Retsu's sentiment, with Nemu nodding in agreement.

"Uhhh… Ret-chan, so hungry…" Mio whined, her stomach growling audibly.

"Hai-hai, hold on for just a little longer, Mio-chan," Retsu reassured her, trying to lighten the mood.

"Well, there are a lot of sects who lost in the first round. They might have the same idea to stay a night in the city before heading back," Cang Yue reasoned, offering an explanation for the crowded streets and full establishments.

"It looks like dinner might be out of the question tonight. We might as well head back and cook something ourselves," Yun Che suggested, resigned to the idea of returning to their manor to prepare dinner and perhaps spend the night in the city instead of returning to the Heavenly Sword Villa.

Crash!! Kyaa!!

"What in the…" Yun Che's voice trailed off as he heard a crash coming from one of the nearby restaurants. It was an odd occurrence, considering the small and seemingly empty nature of the establishment, especially amidst the bustling activity of the surrounding restaurants.

"Aniki, over there," Yuanba pointed out the direction of the commotion, drawing Yun Che's attention towards the empty restaurant.

"You call this food?!" A man's voice reverberated from within the restaurant, accompanied by the sound of crockery smashing against the floor. Intrigued, Yun Che and his group made their way towards the source of the disturbance, considering the possibility of dining there since it was one of the few places with available seats.

Peering inside, Yun Che observed a scene of chaos. A dejected woman, who appeared to be both the waitress and cook, stood amidst the wreckage of broken plates, while two intimidating men loomed over her.

The older sister, despite her worn-out appearance in a haggard blue dress, possessed an enchanting aura. Her long black hair cascaded down her back and chest, partially covering her forehead, and her black eyes reflected a sense of resilience despite the current situation. Beside her stood her younger sister, a smaller version of herself, clad in a similar haggard green dress with the same hairstyle.

"That woman seems familiar," Yun Che remarked, a flicker of recognition crossing his mind as he observed them from a distance. However, Yuanba's reaction was quite different. The moment he laid eyes on the young woman, an inexplicable sensation stirred within his heart. It was a feeling he couldn't quite understand, especially considering he had encountered many beautiful women in his travels, and even his sister's presence hadn't stirred his emotions in such a manner. Yet, there was something about the young woman in the blue haggard dress that caused his heart to flutter, leaving him blushing as he watched her.

"We came to this empty shop to eat, and you served us this shit?!" one of the men bellowed, attempting to intimidate the sisters as they trembled in fear, huddled together.

"Please forgive me. I'll prepare another," the young woman pleaded, bowing apologetically as she attempted to diffuse the situation, while her little sister hid behind her, fear evident in her voice.

"Instead of making food, you should pay us for damages instead. My stomach is damaged by your food," another voice chimed in, revealing that the men were disciples wearing similar robes. Yun Che recognized the voices, a sense of familiarity washing over him.

"Dear customer, please… we don't have anything…" the young woman pleaded, her words cut short by the menacing threats of the men.

"Then, pay with your body instead…" one of the men suggested, his gaze lingering hungrily on the older sister, despite her haggard appearance hinting at her underlying beauty.

"No way… Please…" the young woman hugged her sister protectively as the men advanced, attempting to touch her.

"Oi…" a voice interrupted them, halting their advances.

"Who the hell is interrupting this, father? Do you wish to offend the Southern Jade Cloud Faction…" one of the men began, but his words died on his tongue as he turned to face the one who called out.

"What do you want… Eh!!!" The other man choked on his tea, spraying it everywhere, as he turned around to see who had interrupted them.

"You… Blue Wind Imperial Family, Yun Che!" the twin disciples exclaimed simultaneously, their faces contorted with anger and embarrassment as they recognized their opponent from the first round of the tournament, Fu Yanjie and Fu Yinjie. The memory of their humiliating defeat at Yun Che's hands flooded back, fueling their frustration and resentment.

"Ohh… It's you two… Guess your defeat back in the arena wasn't enough, and now you're harassing the lady?" Yun Che's voice dripped with contempt as he confronted the twin brothers. The memory of their previous defeat at his hands seemed to fuel their current aggression, directed now towards the innocent woman before them.

"You…" Fu Yanjie started to come up with an insult, but the sight of top fighters and beauties standing behind Yun Che stopped him short. Unohana Retsu, Cang Yue, and even Xia Yuanba, formidable fighters who had effortlessly secured five victories each, stood with Yun Che. In contrast, the Southern Jade Cloud Faction, to which the twins belonged, had been among the lowest rankers on the first day of the tournament.

"Now, would you kindly leave this place and never bother this lady?" Yun Che's tone remained flat, his patience wearing thin. The twins attempted to retort by using the name of their faction, but the sight of Princess Cang Yue and other powerful fighters behind Yun Che silenced them. They knew one wrong move could result in their swift defeat.

Moreover, Yun Che wasn't in a mood to listen to their empty threats.

"Yuanba, want to help clean up a mess?" Yun Che cracked his knuckles, signaling his intent to take matters into his own hands.

"Count me in, Aniki!" Yuanba nodded, joining Yun Che's side without hesitation.

"Me too!" Kon came out from his coat and turned into a light streak.

"Wait… wait…" were the last words the twins managed before the sound of a beating filled the small restaurant. The two sisters watched in a mix of fear and awe as Yun Che and Yuanba swiftly subdued the robust men for the second time. Meanwhile, Retsu and the others calmly cleaned up the smashed plates, as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.

"Arghhh, save me!" The twins screamed in pain as their faces became adorned with bruises. Yun Che and Yuanba tossed them unceremoniously outside, where they lay unconscious on the ground. Their comrades nearby hesitated to take revenge, knowing they were no match for Yun Che and Yuanba, and eventually decided to retreat, dragging the unconscious twins away with them.

"Why do they always use the name of their faction as intimidation?" Cang Yue sighed, shaking her head at the predictable tactic.

"It's kind of useless," Retsu remarked, a small sweatdrop forming on her brow as she glanced around.

"I am hungry. Danna-sama… food…" Mio's voice cut through the tension, her stomach growling loudly as she focused solely on her hunger.

"Don't worry, Mio-chan, we're almost there," Retsu reassured, gently petting Mio's head to calm her.

"Stay strong, Mio-nee-sama, we're almost there," Nemu encouraged with a supportive smile.

Meanwhile, the young woman stood up with her sister, their expressions filled with fear as they approached the group.

"Oh, umm, sorry, table for seven," Yun Che spoke cheerfully as they all sat down at the counter. The atmosphere was lightened somewhat by the presence of the talking plushy on the table and the shy, young boy casting glances at the young woman.

"I'm sorry about the mess earlier," Yun Che apologized sincerely, addressing the tension that had occurred just moments ago.

"Ummm… we're sorry… about before," the young woman bowed her head, her voice barely above a whisper. "They wanted to eat without paying and forced us to pay for them."

"Please, let me clean this up," she insisted, reaching for the dirty utensils, but Retsu and Nemu were quick to intervene, taking over the task.

"No need to worry about it," Retsu assured, flashing a reassuring smile as she efficiently cleared the mess. "Ara… I noticed there were no customers at all before we came here."

The young woman's expression shifted, sadness creeping into her features, prompting Retsu to apologize for inadvertently bringing up painful memories. "Oh, uhh… I'm sorry if I…"

"No, no, this store belonged to my parents. We used to sell noodles, and it was quite famous when they were alive," The young woman explained, her voice tinged with nostalgia and sorrow.

"Big sis…" Her little sister hugged her older sister tightly, offering silent comfort.

"I'm sorry…" Yun Che offered his condolences, his voice filled with genuine sympathy.

"You don't have to…" The young woman wiped away her tears, gathering herself to continue. "I was never really a good cook. After they passed away, I tried to keep the store running, but I couldn't… I'm just not as skilled as they were. I'm only trying to take care of my sister. We're a few months behind on rent, and if we can't pay…" Her voice trailed off, the weight of her financial struggles evident in her words.

"Please…" Retsu intervened gently, sensing the distress in the young woman's voice. She didn't want to exacerbate her worries any further.

Trying to shift the conversation to a lighter topic, Retsu asked for their names. "Um… do you have names?"

The young woman nodded, offering a small smile through her tears. "I'm Chen Mai, and this is my little sister, Chen Mei. Just call us Mai and Mei."

"Hello…" Mei spoke softly, her voice barely above a whisper, but her eyes held a glimmer of hope.

"How old are you, Mai-san?" Yun Che inquired gently.

"San?" Mai echoed, puzzled.

"It's an honorific from where we come from," Yun Che clarified. "We usually address someone with -san, mostly to an acquaintance, and -chan to someone little or cute. It depends. Pay it no mind."

"I see," Mai nodded, intrigued by the explanation. Answering his previous question, Mai revealed while embracing her younger sibling protectively. "I am 18 years old. My sister is only 10,"

"How young!" Cang Yue exclaimed with genuine surprise.

"Mai? Even in this world, her name is Mai as well," Yun Che mused internally, noticing Xia Yuanba's prolonged gaze at the young woman.

"Don't tell me..." Yun Che's eyes widened in realization. Despite encountering numerous beauties, including his sister, Retsu, Mio, Nemu, and Cang Yue, as well as those from the Frozen Cloud Asgard, he hadn't been particularly affected. However, this seemingly ordinary girl had managed to capture his attention. "Well, I'll be damned."

It appeared that they were drawn to each other across different worlds.

"Ara... a pair of sisters as well. Well, I am Unohana Retsu, and this is my sister, Unohana Nemuri," Retsu introduced herself and her sister with a warm smile and a slight bow.

"Sisters..." Mai murmured, realizing the connection between the two women. It made sense now why they resembled each other so closely.

"I am Yun Che, and this is my obnoxious brother in arms, Xia Yuanba," Yun Che introduced himself and Yuanba, who seemed to be both nervous and bashful in the presence of the older sister.

"And this hungry lady is Mio, and Cang Yue," Yun Che gestured towards Mio, who appeared to be too weak to even lift her head from the table, and Cang Yue, who offered a polite smile and nod.

"It's nice to meet you," Cang Yue greeted them warmly, her demeanor gentle and approachable.

"Cang Yue?... wait... You're not the Imperial Princess Cang Yue, right?" Mai's voice trembled with awe and disbelief, realizing the significance of having such a prominent figure seated before her.

"Ehe..." Cang Yue chuckled softly, scratching her head sheepishly.

"Im... Im... Imperial Princess!" Mai stuttered, her instinct to bow and show reverence overwhelming her, but Cang Yue quickly intervened, placing a finger over her lips.

"No... no... Please, just call me Cang Yue... I don't want anyone to know. Just Cang Yue, please," Cang Yue implored softly, her expression earnest.

"Yes... Please forgive me, Your Majesty..." Mai apologized, regaining her composure with effort, while her sister looked on, somewhat perplexed by the exchange.

"No..no.. just Cang Yue…" Cang Yue implored softly, her eyes conveying a genuine plea.

"This plushy here is Kon," Yun Che introduced, gesturing to the lion doll.

"Korra! Ore-sama is not a plushy, I am a brave lion," Kon declared proudly, puffing out his plushy chest.

"Big sis, it's a talking doll!" Mei exclaimed, her eyes wide with amazement as she stared at Kon.

"I am not…" Kon began to protest, but before he could finish, Mei's excitement got the better of her. Under the amused gazes of the others, he relented and allowed Mei to play with him. Seeing her laughter was endearing, and Kon couldn't help but feel a sense of joy in bringing happiness to the young girl.

"You said before you sell noodles, right?" Yun Che attempted to steer the conversation away from the awkwardness.

"Yes, it was my parents' business. I wanted to raise my sister and take good care of the store they left behind, but... I can't be as good as them," Mai admitted, her voice tinged with sadness. Yun Che sensed there was more to her story than just running a noodle shop.

Detecting a hint of hidden longing in Mai's words, Yun Che decided to delve deeper. "Mai-san.. Do you have a dream aside from being a cook?"

Mai nodded, a faint smile gracing her lips. "I... We want to be better cooks, but deep down… We dream of becoming cultivators like you after we successfully develop the shop. We've always admired cultivators—strong, kind, and beautiful every day. Our parents were retired cultivators. They opened the noodle shop to raise us, but... they passed away in an accident. We'll try to carry on with their legacy, but as you can see, we're not cut out for this."

"I see... well, I might be able to help you out with something and assist in developing your shop," Yun Che offered, sensing the flicker of hope in Mai's eyes.

"But, if you wanted to be cultivators, you can always go to the Blue Wind Profound Palace or other sects," Yun Che suggested, thinking it might be a more conventional route for them.

"No… no… I want to raise my sister first before we consider joining a sect. I've heard about the bad people among cultivators from other sects. I want to choose the best place for us to use our powers wisely," Mai explained, her determination shining through despite the challenges they faced.

"Well, if you ever decide to pursue that path, when you're both ready, just come to our manor in the palace. Yuanba here can guide you. You can join the order under Cang Yue here," Yun Che suggested, patting Yuanba's back for reassurance.

"M...me? Aniki… She.. I…" Yuanba stuttered, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment at the sudden attention. Mai couldn't help but be amused by his flustered reaction.

"It's okay. It's safe for her to join Cang Yue's faction. I can ask Ling Ming to watch over her," Yun Che assured, his confidence in Ling Ming evident in his tone. She would be a reliable mentor for Mai and her sister in the Order's Palace.

"But, the shop… I can't leave my sister by herself. I'll become a cultivator once both of us are ready," Mai spoke with unwavering determination, her eyes shining with resolve. Yuanba couldn't help but admire her beautiful spirit when she was determined.

"Like I said, we can help with the shop in the meantime. Until Mei-chan here can follow you as cultivators," Yun Che reiterated, his tone reassuring.

"Thank you, big brother…" Mai expressed her gratitude, her cheeks tinted with a blush that matched her determination.

"Yuu-kun, how are you going to help them?" Retsu inquired, curious about their plan.

"Well, they are noodle cooks, right? I might have a recipe that can attract people and make this place famous overnight," Yun Che explained, a mischievous grin playing on his lips as he contemplated his idea.

"Ehh? such a recipe exists?" Cang Yue wondered, intrigued by the notion.

"Yeah… a simple one. Retsu, help me prepare the materials while I instruct them. We might have to cook quickly because Mio looks like she can't take it anymore," Yun Che observed with a chuckle, noticing Mio's impatient state. Retsu's chef instinct suddenly flared up as Yun Che wanted to introduce a new recipe and it instantly intrigues her.

"Danna-sama... food… please…" Mio pleaded weakly, her stomach audibly growling.

"Ganbarre, Mio-chan," Nemu encouraged, gently patting Mio's head.

"Hai… Mio-chan, be patient," Retsu reassured her, rolling up her kimono sleeves to prepare the ingredients.

Mai was about to protest, but Yun Che silenced her with a gesture. "Don't worry about it. Judging from the ingredients you have left, I can teach you a recipe that will make this place famous in a single day."

Yun Che began taking the role of the chef as Retsu was finishing the preparations.

As Yun Che started to prepare the noodles, his movements were swift and precise, a testament to his skill and experience. With practiced hands, he selected the perfect pot, one that had seen countless batches of noodles over the ages, its surface worn smooth from years of use. His fiancées, along with Kon, Yuanba, Mai, and Mei, watched with rapt attention as Yun Che worked his culinary magic.

With a flourish of his apron and a twirl of his cooking utensils, Yun Che set to work. He meticulously prepared the ingredients, selecting only the freshest vegetables and the finest soba noodles that he specially made from the ingredients in Mai's kitchen. As he worked, his movements were fluid and precise, a dance of culinary finesse that only he could execute with such grace.

Mai and her sister Mei watch in awe as Yun Che who is also a cultivator danced in the kitchen as if it was his personal dance floor.

In a large pot set over the roaring flames of the stove, Yun Che poured in the fragrant sesame oil, infusing the air with its nutty aroma. The minced garlic and grated ginger followed, sizzling and releasing their tantalizing scent into the kitchen.

With a deft flick of his wrist, Yun Che added the sliced onions, carrots, bell peppers, and mushrooms to the pot, their vibrant colors swirling together like a masterpiece on canvas. The vegetables danced and sizzled, soaking up the flavors of the garlic and ginger as they cooked to tender perfection.

Next came the star of the dish – the dashi broth, a delicate yet robust base that would lend its depth of flavor to the entire ensemble. Yun Che poured it into the pot, the rich aroma enveloping him like a warm embrace.

As the broth simmered and bubbled, Yun Che added the soy sauce, mirin, and a splash of sake for good measure, their sweet and savory notes mingling harmoniously with the other ingredients.

Finally, it was time for the pièce de résistance – the soba noodles. Cooked to al dente perfection, they joined the fray, intertwining with the vegetables and soaking up the savory broth like a sponge.

With a satisfied smile, Yun Che ladled the steaming hot broth and noodles into bowls, the aroma wafting through the air and beckoning his fiancées to the table including Yuanba, Mai and Mei.

"Well, dig in!" Yun Che offered his beautifully crafted special soba derived from Sanji's Wano Recipe from One Piece.

As they took their first bite, their taste buds erupted in a symphony of flavors – the nuttiness of the sesame oil, the warmth of the garlic and ginger, the sweetness of the vegetables, and the umami richness of the dashi broth.

"Umai!!!!" Retsu and Mio exclaimed simultaneously, their eyes widening in pure delight as they plunged their chopsticks into the special soba Yun Che had crafted, drawing up steaming strands of noodles and crisp vegetables. Their taste buds erupted in a symphony of flavors, each mouthful a revelation of culinary brilliance.

"It melts in the mouth. I called it, Special Soba!" Yun Che smiles.

Nemu and Cang Yue, initially skeptical, exchanged stunned glances before tentatively tasting the dish. Their hesitation melted away as they were swept up in the irresistible allure of Yun Che's creation. "Yuu-sama, the noodles are glimmering." Nemu usually the epitome of stoic composure murmured, her expression a mixture of surprise and pleasure.

Yuanba couldn't contain his enthusiasm as he devoured his bowl with gusto. "Aniki… this is… delicious…" he managed between mouthfuls, his usual gruff demeanor softened by the sheer deliciousness of the meal.

Mai, the shop owner herself, found herself unable to resist the temptation of the soba. "Delicious… the noodles are slightly chewy!" she admitted, her usual composed demeanor giving way to unadulterated enjoyment.

Yun Che, observing the reactions of his companions, couldn't help but feel a swell of pride. Turning towards Mai. "Would you like the recipe?" he offered with a grin, knowing that he had struck culinary gold with Yun Che's creation. This include Retsu and Mio who wanted to learn the recipe as well as they too are cooks who wished to learn every one of his recipes.

"Big sister, this is delicious!!!" Mei exclaimed, her eyes shining with newfound appreciation for Yun Che's culinary skills. It was the first time she had tasted something so exquisite, and she was utterly enchanted.

"Oishi!!!! Danna-sama, seconds!" Mio piped up eagerly, her bowl already empty as she eagerly awaited another serving.

"Me too!" Retsu chimed in, her enthusiasm matching Mio's as she eagerly raised her hand for another helping.

"Yuu-sama, more…" Nemu added with a pleading look, her bowl already drained of its contents.

Me too!" Cang Yue exclaimed with her empty bowl as well.

"Aniki!" Yuanba exclaimed, catching sight of Mai and Mei eagerly requesting seconds.

"Count for me as well!" Kon shouted despite Mai and Mei bewildered expression seeing a plushy eat like normal.

"Coming right up!" Yun Che declared with a flourish, his hands moving deftly as he skillfully prepared another batch of soba. With years of cooking experience under his belt, he had no trouble whipping up ten bowls in less than five minutes, each one a testament to the power of good food to bring people together in joyous harmony.

With each spoonful, they were transported to a world of culinary bliss, where every bite was a testament to Yun Che's skill and dedication to his craft. And as they savored every last drop of his special soba, they knew that they had experienced something truly magical – a meal crafted with love and served with passion by the one and only, Yun Che.

"It's delicious!!" All of his fiancées including Kon, Yuanba, Mai and Mei exclaimed.

"Thank you! Hahahaha!" Yun Che laughed as he sees the happiness of his cooking did to all of them.

As the tantalizing aroma of Yun Che's special soba wafted through the air, more and more customers were drawn to the small restaurant like moths to a flame. The savory scent mingled with the salty sea breeze, creating an irresistible invitation to indulge in culinary bliss.

"Oh, what's that amazing smell?" exclaimed one curious patron, his nose twitching as he followed the scent to its source.

"It smells like heaven in here!" agreed another, her stomach growling in anticipation of the feast to come.

"Welcome, welcome!" Yun Che's voice rang out cheerfully as Mai and Mei turned to see a growing crowd of hungry customers flooding into the restaurant.

"Chef, I'll take whatever smells so good!" one eager customer called out, his enthusiasm mirrored by others in the bustling establishment.

"Coming right up!" Yun Che replied with a wide grin, already busy preparing more servings of his coveted Special Soba.

Mai and Mei sprang into action, seamlessly transitioning into the role of waitresses as they began serving the steaming bowls of noodles to the hungry patrons. Meanwhile, Retsu and Mio, having satisfied their own appetites, joined Yun Che in the kitchen, their skilled hands swiftly chopping and slicing ingredients to keep up with the demand. Somehow, they were happy to be able to work together in preparing the ingredients.

Nemu, Cang Yue, and Yuanba also lent their hands to the effort, seamlessly working as waitstaff to serve tea and refreshments to the eager diners. Despite her royal status, Cang Yue slipped effortlessly into her role, her disguise as Lan Xueruo ensuring that her identity remained hidden as she gracefully navigated the crowded restaurant. As for Kon, he just hides inside Yun Che's coat due to not wanting to reveal himself to public. It was enough that he reveals himself to Mai and Mei since the little sister was more interested in him as a plushy. Better than going back into the inner world and becoming a chew toy.

Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere was electric with excitement as patrons clamored for a taste of Yun Che's culinary masterpiece. The sound of slurping noodles and satisfied sighs filled the air, mingling with the chatter of delighted diners.

Mai and Mei could believe their eyes. The restaurant that was vacant for months had become famous because of the Special Soba. Mai even started crying seeing her restaurant was full just like when her parents were still around. All because of Yun Che and his people.

"By the heavens, this is incredible!" one customer exclaimed between mouthfuls, his eyes widening in disbelief at the sheer deliciousness of the soba.

"I think I've died and gone to food heaven," another declared, his expression one of pure bliss as he savored each bite.

Even the most stoic of patrons couldn't help but be swept away by the magic of Yun Che's cooking.

"I never knew food could taste this good," muttered a grizzled disciple, his rough exterior betraying the delight in his eyes as he savored every last morsel.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Retsu and Mio were working tirelessly to keep up with the demand as they prepared ingredients while Yun Che prepared them, their skills put to the test as they churned out bowl after bowl of soba with lightning speed. As experience chef and sous chef, it was as easy as breathing.

As the night wore on and the crowds continued to swell, it became clear that Yun Che's special soba had become more than just a dish – it was a phenomenon, drawing people from far and wide to experience its unparalleled deliciousness.

As the evening progressed, Mai's restaurant filled to the brim, with lines of hungry patrons amassing outside, eager to taste the renowned Special Soba. Despite the bustling activity, Mai found herself perplexed by the seemingly endless supply of ingredients needed to keep up with the demand. Each time she thought they would run out, Yun Che effortlessly replenished them with a mysterious ease.

Perplexed by this phenomenon, Mai couldn't help but voice her suspicions to Yun Che. "How are we managing to keep up with the demand? It's like the ingredients are magically replenishing themselves."

With a knowing smile, Yun Che simply shrugged and replied, "Ah, well, that's just a cultivator's secret, Mai. Trust me, it's nothing you need to worry about."

Though still puzzled, Mai decided to trust in Yun Che's assurance, focusing instead on the joy and satisfaction their delicious noodles were bringing to their customers.

As Yun Che skillfully prepared bowl after bowl of the delectable Special Soba, the customers lined up eagerly, their mouths watering in anticipation. Each bowl was priced at ten yellow profound coins, a seemingly small amount for the heavenly taste they were about to experience. With satisfied expressions, the customers paid up without hesitation, some even indulging in multiple bowls, their enjoyment evident in their delighted faces. The money flowed in steadily, filling the coffers of Mai's restaurant at an astonishing rate.

For Mai and Mei, who had never seen such wealth before, the sight of nearly 30,000 yellow profound coins amassed in just one night was nothing short of miraculous. It surpassed their yearly earnings by leaps and bounds, a windfall they could scarcely believe. Yun Che, true to his word, handed over all the earnings to the sisters as repayment for the generosity of allowing them to use their kitchen.

But as success often does, it attracted envy and resentment. Three pairs of eyes glared enviously from outside the restaurant, watching the lines of customers eagerly awaiting their turn.

"Who is that brat?!" the elder brother exclaimed, his voice tinged with annoyance as he witnessed Yun Che's bustling operation.

"I've never seen him before. Is he helping the sisters sell their worthless noodles?" the second brother mused, eyeing the activity with suspicion.

"And now that I remember, the sisters haven't paid their protection money yet," the third brother chimed in with a smirk.

"Yeah… Does he think he can sell something and get away with it? Let's teach them a lesson!" the elder brother declared, his tone dripping with malice as the trio made their way toward the noodle restaurant.

But their intentions didn't go unnoticed by the customers, who spoke out against their attempted intrusion.

"Hey, no cutting in line!" one brave soul called out, causing the trio to turn their attention toward the disgruntled crowd. As recognition dawned, fear spread among the patrons. "Eh, those are the Black Lotus Clan, the Wang brothers!"

As people began to recognize the Wang brothers and their notorious Black Lotus Clan, a sense of fear rippled through the crowd. Some individuals, aware of the potential danger, quickly fled the area to avoid any confrontation. The reputation of the Wang brothers as powerful figures in the region was well-known, and crossing paths with them often meant trouble.

Whispers spread among the remaining onlookers as they watched the brothers set their sights on Mai's humble noodle shop. It was clear that trouble was brewing, and the atmosphere grew tense with anticipation of what would unfold next.

"Step aside!" The booming voices echoed through the restaurant, sending a shiver down Mai and Mei's spines. Their apprehensive expressions didn't escape Yun Che's notice, nor did the way other customers began to subtly distance themselves.

With a serene smile, Yun Che addressed the intruders. "Yeah, Welcome to my shop. Do you want to buy the Special Soba as well? If you want to, line up like everyone else."

The elder brother's smirk hinted at trouble as he responded, "No, it's not like that, brother."

"Brother! Look at those beauties. Wow, they're so beautiful," the tall man exclaimed, his gaze lingering on Retsu and Mio. But when he spotted Cang Yue disguised as Lan Xueruo, alongside Nemu, their intentions turned sinister.

The second brother's sneer cut through the air. "Who the hell let you into this zone? This is the territory of the Black Lotus Clan. You can't run a famous shop without paying us!"

His words were met with a chilling proposition. "If you're willing to give us these women as payment and all of your today's earnings, we might consider it paid. We might consider letting you go free," the second brother declared, his gaze predatory.

"The sisters haven't paid us protection money for months. You can pay for them," the third brother added, eyeing Mai and Mei with a hungry gleam. Mai instinctively tightened her embrace around her younger sister, a protective gesture that didn't go unnoticed by Yuanba, who simmered with restrained anger.

Unfazed by the threats, Yun Che continued to cook with a calm demeanor, treating the intruders as insignificant nuisances.

"Oi! Are you deaf?!" The elder brother's voice boomed, his attempt to intimidate Yun Che echoing through the bustling noodle shop.

Yun Che, unfazed by the display, continued cooking with practiced ease, paying the brothers no mind. "What?" he responded casually, as if their presence was insignificant.

"I said you have to pay us! All of your earnings and those women," the elder brother demanded, his tone growing more aggressive.

"Why?" Yun Che's question hung in the air, cutting through the tension like a knife.

"Why?!" echoed the third brother incredulously. "You needed protection money, right? We can't protect your shop without it."

Yun Che's bored expression betrayed his lack of concern. "Who asked for your help? We don't need any protection. We're strong enough to deal with this," he retorted, his confidence unwavering. As he handed a bowl of Special Soba to a waiting customer, his charming grin added a touch of levity to the tense atmosphere, much to the woman's delight.

Crash!

"Kyaaa!" Mai and Mei's cries filled the air as they hugged each other tightly, their fear palpable. Yun Che observed their distress, deducing that these men must have tormented them countless times before. He silently thanked the heavens that they hadn't endured anything worse, like defiling their honor. Meanwhile, the other customers fled the scene, leaving only the brothers and the courageous group standing outside.

Turning to face the brothers, Yun Che witnessed their malicious act of knocking over his special cooking pot with their feet. Retsu and Mio maintained their composure, ready to spring into action at Yun Che's command. Nemu and Cang Yue, seasoned by past confrontations, remained calm, deferring to Yun Che's judgment on whether they should intervene.

"Then, try to protect this pitiful shop of yours!" the elder brother taunted, his arrogance evident. But Yun Che remained composed, his anger simmering beneath the surface. There was one thing he couldn't tolerate—threatening his loved ones and wasting food.

Approaching the brothers with deliberate steps, Yun Che's expression darkened. "Well? Are you paying?" they demanded, attempting to intimidate him once more. But Yun Che's response was unexpected and sharp. "You have to finish your food, dear customer. We won't tolerate food being wasted."

The elder brother, offended by Yun Che's defiance, called upon his brothers to deal with him. "Disappear, brat!" the largest brother bellowed, his fist raised to strike. However, Yun Che calmly raised his finger, halting the attack in its tracks. The brothers stood dumbfounded, shocked that Yun Che had effortlessly thwarted their assault with a mere gesture.

"Well now, just a fifth-level Spirit Profound Realm? Trying to be brazen?" Yun Che's bored tone dripped with disdain as he confronted the brothers, his confidence unshaken despite their hostile intentions.

With lightning speed, Yun Che launched a direct kick at the largest brother, sending his massive frame hurtling outside with a resounding crash. Meanwhile, Yuanba wasted no time, delivering a powerful punch to the second brother's face, propelling him through the air until he collided forcefully with the adjacent building's wall. The sight of Mai's frightened expression only fueled Yuanba's rage, intensifying his assault.

Left facing Yun Che alone, the final brother drew his sword with a menacing snarl, attempting to strike at Yun Che. But Yun Che's reaction was swift and decisive. With effortless ease, he stopped the sword's path with just two fingers, then proceeded to crush it between them, leaving the brother in stunned disbelief. Before the brother could react, Yun Che delivered a punishing kick to his abdomen, sending him sprawling outside the shop.

The onlookers outside erupted into a chorus of awe and admiration, marveling at Yun Che's incredible strength. Amidst the commotion, Yun Che's fiancées couldn't help but roll their eyes at the spectacle.

With deliberate steps, Yun Che strode towards the fallen elder brother, his expression dark with fury. He mercilessly pressed his foot down on the brother's face, each step causing the ground to crack beneath him. The crowd watched in horror as Yun Che forced open the brother's mouth and shoved the fallen noodles down his throat, the scene unfolding like a nightmare before their eyes.

"The noodles you kicked, eat all of it!" Yun Che's voice thundered, his eyes blazing with righteous indignation. With grim determination, he continued to force-feed the noodles to the elder brother, not relenting until the man's stomach bulged uncomfortably.

The crowd stood frozen, some horrified by the brutality of the scene, while others nodded in grim satisfaction, finally witnessing someone stand up to the Wang brothers' tyranny.

"Big brother!" The second brother called out, his voice trembling in fear as Yun Che turned his gaze towards him.

"Ekkk…" The second brother visibly quivered under Yun Che's stare.

"Do you want to eat as well?" Yun Che asked in a deceptively calm tone.

"You'll regret this!" The brother's threat was quickly silenced by Yun Che's menacing glare, followed by a chilling promise. "Try it. If you disturb these sisters again, I'll break every bone in the bodies of your clan."

With a terrified cry, the second brother hastily fled the scene, leaving behind his wallet, which Yun Che promptly relieved of its contents. 100 cyan coins—a decent payment for their troubles. Meanwhile, the large third brother lay sprawled on the ground, unconscious from the force of Yun Che's earlier blow.

Addressing the crowd of onlookers, Yun Che flashed a reassuring smile. "We don't tolerate leftovers. So, mind finishing your food?"

His words prompted the initial customers to return to the restaurant and finish their meals, their previous reluctance now replaced by a newfound sense of urgency. Witnessing Yun Che's forceful display had left them with little desire to leave any food uneaten.

With Retsu swiftly cleaning up the fallen pot and Mio offering solace to the tearful sisters, the chaos caused by the Wang brothers slowly began to subside. Oddly enough, their interference had inadvertently resulted in the line outside dissipating. Nevertheless, Mai and Mei found solace in the fact that they could finally close up shop for the day, especially considering the hefty earnings they had amassed: 50,000 yellow coins and 100 cyan coins—all thanks to those troublesome brothers.

However, despite the disturbances caused by the Wang brothers, there was a silver lining: the taste of their Special Soba had left a lasting impression on the customers. As word spread about the delectable noodles, Mai and Mei could already anticipate a surge in patrons tomorrow.

Curious about their assailants, Yun Che inquired further, his tone reflecting a mixture of intrigue and contempt. "Who were those guys?"

Mai's voice quivered with resentment as she explained, "They're the Wang brothers. They've been terrorizing us for ages, forcing people to pay protection money. Since we couldn't afford to comply, they resorted to scaring away our customers."

"Hmmm… those ruffians, huh?" Yun Che muttered, his expression darkening with displeasure.

"Oi, Yun Che, aren't they like the Yakuza or something?" Kon wondered aloud.

"Black Lotus Clan, if I recall correctly," Yun Che confirmed.

"Aniki, but one of them managed to escape," Yuanba reported, his expression tense with the anticipation of potential retaliation.

"I warned them. If they cross us again, I'll wipe out their entire clan," Yun Che declared with a steely resolve, waiting for the news of their encounter to spread throughout the Black Lotus Clan so he could make good on his promise.

"If it comes to that, let me assist, Aniki," Yuanba offered, his determination palpable.

"You did well, Yuanba," Yun Che praised, acknowledging his loyal companion's bravery.

"No choice then, Kon-sama will lend a paw too," Kon declared proudly, puffing out his plushy chest, eliciting a chuckle from Mei.

"Sure, sure," Yun Che responded nonchalantly to Kon's enthusiastic offer.

"Thank you… we… couldn't possibly repay you for what you've done for us," Mai expressed her gratitude, her voice tinged with emotion as tears welled in her eyes. This evening alone, Yun Che and his companions had achieved what she could never accomplish on her own.

"Retsu, Mio, Nemu, and Cang Yue, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your assistance," Mai bowed deeply, overcome with gratitude for the unexpected aid from these beautiful patrons-turned-saviors.

"No need for thanks. It was a pleasure, and I must say, your Special Soba was truly exquisite," Retsu remarked with a warm smile, nudging Yun Che playfully, who returned the gesture with a grin.

"Absolutely! Count me in for a return visit tomorrow!" Mio chimed in enthusiastically.

"I hope those thugs won't trouble you again," Cang Yue expressed her concern, her tone laced with genuine worry for Mai and her sister's safety.

"Thank you, big brother and bulky big brother," Mei expressed her gratitude, her eyes sparkling with innocence as Yun Che affectionately petted her head. His fiancées couldn't help but smile, knowing his soft spot for children all too well.

"Don't worry, consider this payment for letting us cook here," Yun Che insisted, his grin widening as he handed two purple coins to the sisters. To Mai and Mei, those coins were like a windfall, transforming their fortunes overnight. They were overwhelmed by the unexpected generosity, feeling as though they had struck gold.

"This… this is too much," Mai protested, attempting to refuse the payment, but Yun Che was adamant. He knew they could use the money to improve their restaurant and provide for Mei's future.

"Don't worry, Mio had her fill, and we all had a great time," Yun Che reassured, his sentiment echoed by Retsu and the others.

"But, Yun Che, you haven't had anything yet," Mai pointed out, noticing that he hadn't even taken a break to eat amidst all the chaos.

"Oh, right," Yun Che chuckled. "Mai-san, Mei-chan, why don't you two prepare me a Special Soba?" His suggestion caught Mai off guard, but she was eager to rise to the occasion.

"Don't worry, Mai-chan, I can teach you how to make it," Retsu offered, her tone encouraging, while Mio chimed in, "And I can show you which ingredients to use."

"Yuu-sama, I can prepare some tea for you," Nemu volunteered, disappearing momentarily to brew a fresh pot.

After a while, Mei returned carrying a perfectly crafted bowl of Special Soba, her expression shy yet proud. "Big brother, here…" she offered, extending the bowl to Yun Che with a mixture of nervousness and excitement.

"Thank you, Mei-chan," Yun Che expressed his gratitude with a warm smile as Mei handed him the Special Soba. She blushed and smiled back, looking absolutely adorable.

"Ahoo… this is delicious!" Yun Che exclaimed after taking a taste, pleasantly surprised by Mai's culinary skills. Mai watched in disbelief as Yun Che actually enjoyed the Special Soba she had prepared. He even requested a few more bowls to satisfy his hunger, much to her bewilderment.

Seizing the opportunity to tease Yuanba, Yun Che offered him a bowl as well. "Yuanba, have some too."

"Uhh, Aniki, I am quite full," Yuanba replied, having already indulged in a few bowls himself.

"Mai prepared some for you. You're not going to waste it, right?" Yun Che teased, well aware of Yuanba's newly developed feelings for the elder sister.

"I… If Mai prepared it…" Yuanba spoke, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment as he hesitantly took a bite of the Special Soba that Mai had prepared for him. His friends - Retsu, Mio, Nemu, and Cang Yue - exchanged knowing smirks, while Mai remained entirely oblivious to the subtle dynamics at play.

As they enjoyed their meal together, laughter filled the air, and the bonds of friendship grew stronger. Mai and Mei had quickly become cherished members of their group, their warmth and kindness endearing them to everyone.

With the night drawing to a close, Mai expressed her gratitude once more. "Thank you again for saving our restaurant," she said, bowing deeply.

Yun Che smiled warmly. "It was our pleasure. We're happy to help."

"Thank you, big brother," Mei chimed in, her eyes bright with gratitude as Yun Che affectionately patted her head.

Yuanba, unable to meet Mai's gaze directly, stammered out a response. "Uhhh, I… don't worry," he managed, his face flushed with embarrassment. Despite his awkwardness, his heart swelled with a newfound sense of connection and belonging.

"*Giggle, you really are funny, Yuanba," Mai giggled before she bowed along with her sister and walked back towards their shop, waving goodbye at them.

"Hoooo…," Yun Che teased alongside his fiancées. "Araaa~~~~~"

Nemu, her stoic facade betrayed by the slamming both of her index fingers, teasing Yuanba in her own way, while Cang Yue's expression held a hint of amusement.

Yuanba, caught off guard by their teasing, responded nervously, "What?"

With a playful elbow on Yuanba's shoulder, Yun Che continued his banter. "I never thought she caught your eye, Yuanba."

Kon added to the teasing, "That's right, Lackey. You should ask her out."

Aniki, Kon-sama. I …. She… I was only…" Yuanba stammered, his nerves evident as he struggled to explain his feelings.

Yun Che, ever the supportive friend, encouraged him. "Don't worry. She's a nice girl, right?"

"Yeah…," Yuanba replied nervously, his cheeks flushing crimson. Despite his hesitations, his feelings for Mai were undeniable.

"Oi lackey! You should ask her out!" Kon suggested.

"Why don't you get to know her? Ask her out," Yun Che suggested, prompting a nervous response from Yuanba, who doubted a normal girl like Mai would be interested in him, a cultivator.

Yun Che countered his doubts with a reminder of his father's successful relationship with his mother. "You're too nervous. Your father is a normal man. He got your mother. What's wrong with it?"

"But, Aniki…aren't you a better choice for…" Yuanba began, only to be abruptly interrupted by a swift bonk on the head from Yun Che.

"No buts. Man up and talk to her. I'm sure she likes you too," Yun Che insisted, offering both encouragement and a playful jab at Yuanba's hesitancy.

"You have four sisters-in-law already. When do I get a 'sister-in-law' of my own?" Yun Che teased again.

"Brot….. brother… What do you mean by that?!" Xia Yuanba stammered, clearly taken aback by Yun Che's teasing.

As they prepared to depart on their Wind Gliders, Yun Che made plans for their return. "Let's come back here tomorrow and tell her about all your fights. I'm sure she'd love to listen to you."

With Yun Che's support and encouragement, Yuanba felt a surge of determination, ready to take the next step and pursue his feelings for Mai.

----------------------

"That brat. This isn't over," the elder brother seethed through gritted teeth, his anger palpable as he struggled to stand with the help of his men. "Call our brothers. We'll teach those sisters a lesson they won't forget."

His second brother nodded in agreement, his expression mirroring the same determination. With grim determination etched on their faces, they limped away from the restaurant, nursing their wounds but nursing their resolve to exact revenge even more.
