While doing that, he also met a group of pretty nasty individuals.
"Tsk, I actually didn't expect that I'd encounter such a disgusting group that I've only heard in news reports before" Leo said while looking at the group of people he subdued earlier and are currently lying tied up on ground, who are looking at him with either fear or anger.
"Let us go, or you'll bear the consequences!" With eyes full of hatred, one of the women that got captured yelled at Leo in anger as she squirmed on the ground, trying to loosen the ropes on her wrists.
"Like what? Kill me?" Leo replied with a laugh while caressing the rifle in his hands.
One of the people with keen eyes quickly noticed that Leo seemed to be thinking of just getting rid of them, so he quickly opened his mouth and showed the brightest smile he could offer and said, "Sir! Sir, please don't mind that woman. She's crazy! How about just letting us go, and go on our own way and let bygones be bygones, sir?"
When the man said that, the eyes of his companions that were just burning with hatred and anger suddenly cooled down and were replaced by the sparkle of hope.
Leo turned his head towards the man who just talked with a raised eyebrow, and he just couldn't help but smirk and said, "Let you guys go out there to feast more on the flesh of your human victims? You must think I'm stupid for saying something like that, and those people you tricked and died because of your craziness certainly wouldn't forgive me if I just let the bunch of you go now, would they?"
The people that Leo had encountered and tied up are actually people who had turned from civilized humans into savages, who started eating their own kind!
Talk about cannibalism! Such a cliche thing to see during the Apocalypse!
Well, it's actually not that surprising with how the world had turned out, but Leo was certainly very disgusted after he found what kind of people they are, and how many had fallen victim inside their stomachs!
So when he learned what kind of people they are, he quickly captured them and tied them all up!
What's worse, there's even children who joined in their madness!
"You bastard! Let us go!"
"Untie me, you don't know who you are dealing with bastard!"
"You're still young, it's better to untie us and let us go young one, and you may get to live longer"
"My child, at least let my child go, you bastard!"
Seeing the expression of these people that went from hopeful to madness in the blink of an eye, made Leo chuckle to himself, especially hearing the threats coming from their mouths while they are tied up.
With a smirk on his face, his knees bent, Leo sat down before one of the cannibals, and looked at the man with obvious contempt and said, "Do you even realize the situation you're in right now? Your scheme to spike the food you gave me failed, and now, you're bearing the consequences for it. Did you lot even stop and think, of how the f*ck did a lone man like myself were able to easily subdue you bastards?! There's like twenty of you including the children! But look at the situation you lot are in now! Tied up and with the sword of Damocles hanging above your heads, and you dare to run your mouth and threaten me?! You fools really have a lot of loose screws in your heads!"
Hearing what Leo said, all of their eyes immediately went red in anger as they started cursing him!
What's more shocking is that some of the kids also joined the curse fest and shot a tirade of curses towards Leo!
"Die you bastard!"
"F*ck your mother, you lil shit!"
Leo just shook his head and looked at the kids, then their guardians or parents and said, "Look at these, even the kids have gone mad too"
With a shake of his head, Leo took out two grenades from his [Inventory], and when the group of cannibals saw it, they immediately lost their minds as they quickly stopped cursing at Leo and started begging, again!
"Please don't kill us! We'll change! I promise!"
"Yeah, yeah! W-we'll promise to change, we'll stop eating human flesh as long as you let us go, please!" said a woman after exchanging a look with her companions, who also started begging for mercy with such obvious hypocrisy.
"Goodbye"
Leo ignored their pleas and just smiled before pulling the pins of the grenades using his teeth and threw it in the middle of this group of cannibalistic humans.
Ting! Ting!
The two grenades dropped and rolled along the ground as multiple pairs of horrified eyes followed its trajectory.
"Bastard!!"
"D-demon!"
"Damn y-"
Boom! Boom!
Leo had already moved away in a safe distance as he watched the spectacle of concrete mixed with blood and gore blasting in all directions.
"Sorry, kids who had already been led astray and had forgotten what makes them human is already not eligible in my list of mercy" Leo mumbled to himself, with not even an ounce of guilt shown on his face, because for him, death had already become a common occurrence in his daily life.
Be it adults or kids, as long as you have committed a heinous crime against humanity, the word "mercy" would certainly disappear in the world for a few moments when judgement falls on you.
"Good thing the others aren't with me, or I wouldn't even know if they are able to stomach what I just did"
Deep inside, Leo does feel a little pity for the kids that died along with the others, but such evilness isn't allowed to live any longer in a world that's already filled with despair and fear.
Meanwhile, the group of teenagers from earlier, are watching Leo on a rooftop from five buildings away, and through the binoculars they had, a few of them had witnessed how Leo had dealt with those groups of cannibals.
"This…did he really kill a group of cannibals by himself?" A teeanger of Maoli descent couldn't help but blurt out words of amazement after he had witnessed what had happened to those people who had been terrorizing around their area.
"The kids weren't even spared, but it's also a good thing that a lot of them died. It would certainly weaken those groups of menace" a young woman said in approval while nodding her head, failing to hide the bitter hatred in her eyes.
"But that's not the point now, I think he's even more dangerous now than those cannibals. Is the idea of making contact with him still valid?" said a young woman wearing a pair of glasses, looking really intelligent.
"I think we should still try. Looking at how he didn't even hesitate to kill those cannibals, he's probably in between" answered another teenager, but with so little confidence in his voice as he seems not even sure what he's saying.
"But what if he kills us for spying on him then?"
"Am I that scary?"
Then from out of nowhere, they suddenly heard a very unfamiliar voice behind them, and all of them froze in their place, before they slowly turned their bodies around to see who it is, and when they did that..
