CH-269 Private Talk.

1Vijay Pratap Singh still couldn't believe his ears. The only thing he was afraid of was standing in front of him like a huge wall. He looked at Avery for sure and Avery immediately answered him in her sweet voice.      2

"Yes, Grandpa. He is my husband and it's been almost nine months since I got married." All this was very difficult for Vijay Pratap Singh to digest. He stood numb in his place and after some time he started roaring from inside like Tiger.

Vijay Pratap was very angry but he also knew that he could not say anything on this topic because he was not with them when his daughter and grandchildren needed him the most. He had no control over their lives. Even when he found out about Henry' death, he never came to Sarah because he did not dare to face her. And that was his biggest mistake.

Seeing Vijay Pratap's numb state, a smirk appeared on Alex's lips. He knew that Vijay Pratap was hurt but he did not feel bad about Vijay Pratap. He was feeling very good. Because no matter what, he was a devil. He became leaner and leaner on Avery and said breaking the silence, "Honey, why don't you tell your grandfather that very soon he is going to be the Great Grandfather?"

"Alex, you....,"

"What?" Vijay Pratap Singh cut Avery's sentence in the middle.

"Yes, Grandpa...," Alex said as he was mocking Vijay Pratap.

"Don't call me grandpa. I am not your grandfather." Vijay Pratap Singh said very angrily.

He narrowed his eyes. Looking at the expression on Alex's face, it was clear that every word of Alex was true. Vijay Pratap Singh looked at his own granddaughter who was still wrapped in Alex's strong arms. After watching Alex's behaviour for a few minutes, it became clear to Vijay Pratap that Alex is very possessive and protective about his granddaughter. He sighed loudly and they put his hands in his front pockets. He stepped forward.

Vijay Pratap took Avery's name very gently, "Avery, dear now it's clear that this person is your husband but I want to talk to him privately. I suggest you go to the pavilion now. The wedding ceremony will be started very soon." It was a clear signal to Avery that her grandfather wanted to talk to Alex alone and she was not welcomed. Her calm heart again started beating very fastly.

In those days, Avery know that her grandfather was a high tempered person. And what about Alex? He was a Cruel, Manipulative and very Dangerous Underworld King. She wanted to stay there and for that, she looked at Alex hopefully.

But her hopes vanished when Alex shook his head negatively. He turned Avery so that she could face him completely. He wrapped one hand around her waist and placed his other hand on her cheek, "Be a good girl." His voice was soft.

"But.."

"Shhh..." When Avery opened her mouth to try to resist, Alex immediately put his long finger on Avery's lips and hushed her, "Don't be stubborn child. Just go. I will be around you very soon." This time his voice was soft but his body language was strict. Seeing Alex's slightly changed expression, Avery swallowed her saliva. She nodded nervously and Alex let go of his grip on her body as she started to walk away.

Seeing this, Vijay Pratap was also convinced that Alex was not only a caring husband but also a control freak too. No one could cross his path.

Avery was about to step out of the gazebo when Alex called her, "Amore." She stopped on her spot and turned.

Alex was standing in his place. He had one hand in his pocket and the other hand stretched towards her. The palm of his hand was open and her inhaler was on it, "Let this inhaler be with you and don't forget next time. What would you do if I weren't with you?" Seeing this scene, Vijay Pratap smiled unknowingly and his eyes sparkled but he immediately masked his expression. Unbeknownst to him, he was happy inside, but Avery's condition was different. It was very simple that Alex was talking about the inhaler but without realizing his words touched Avery's heart. She could not have imagined her life without her husband.

She bit her lower lip and moved closer to Alex. She placed her cold hand on Alex's warm hand and took the inhaler. After taking the inhaler, she went out with a heavy heart.

_____

The sun had already set and the sky had darkened its colour. Not completely, but it was still a bit dark. But not at the wedding venue. There were still millions of lights that illuminated the whole area. The whole wedding ceremony was over but there was still some time left for the bride's farewell.

Avery was sitting with her mother. Other women were talking to each other. Avery was in her thoughts when a teenage girl came and told Avery that her uncle Ashok had called her. Avery left with the girl, saying that she would come soon.

Avery didn't know where Ashok was sitting among so many people so she went with the girl. When Avery got there, Ashok was not alone. He also had the company of other people. There, Natasha's husband and today's groom Vinay. Along with Vinay, his father was also present. Her grandfather and, most importantly, her husband.

Alex had a glass of wine in his hand which he was rolling a little. Her breathing stopped when her brown eyes met his blue eyes. Her heart rate increased. Among other people, Alex always had this effect on her. She lowered her eyelids. Within a movement, she lifted her eyes. This time he was looking at her and smirking. There was also a bit of confusion in Alex's eyes as he did not know why Ashok invited Avery to the men's meeting.

He brought his glass of wine close to his lips and took a sip of wine as if he were kissing her lips very little. She understood the meaning behind his action and soon she moved her gaze from him.
